Just a Small Town Boy Living in a Lonely World
Thirteen year old Yong Hwa sat up in his tree fort that was strategically positioned in his uncles largest tree on his decent sized property. This house wasn't as large as the house he used to live in with his father, however YongHwa felt more at home here than he ever did with his father. There were so many weird things going on at his father's house and it always made Yong hwa uneasy. He had a clue as to what was going on, but Yong Hwa was always told he had too much of an over active imagination and to stop thinking that everything he read in books could happen in real life. Little did he know, his father was just trying to cover up all his crooked dealings so his son wouldn't go and rat on him somehow.
Biting down on his lower lip as he read "The Hobbit", Yong Hwa was curled up in the treehouse with about five pillows surrounding him so he didn't have to lean against a single hard surface, and a blanket covering his legs. Even though it was still summer time, Yong Hwa often found himself getting chilly at the smallest of things and always kept the large blankets and fluffiest of pillows hidden up in the fort whenever he knew he would be hiding up here often. His uncle's gut was too large for him to fit through the hole that was used for getting up into the fort. Heck, if Yong Hwa wasn't as skinny as he was, he might not be able to get in here in a few more years. His slender form was starting to hit that gangly stage though where his body wasn't sure if it wanted to grow him tall and skinny, or keep him properly proportioned. His whole life Yong Hwa had been tall and skinny though, but now he looked almost like a tree with the way his arms and legs threw in proportion to his long slender body. Yong hwa hated his body, so of course he hid it often and didn't try to overly reach out to others. Not that he was antisocial. Not exactly. He just preferred his solitude except for the select few that he allowed up into his tree fort. Those allowed in his fort were his closest friends who he wouldn't mind seeing often. That's why he told them about it.
Turning the page in his book, Yong Hwa flopped over onto his back and dangled his head out of the hole a bit so he could see if anyone was coming. he heard the wooden gate that protected the back yard from intruders (as well as kept the dogs from running away) open and then shut, so he knew someone was lurking around in the yard. Whether is was family, friend, or foe though, Yong hwa wasn't sure. Which is why his curly locks were now dangling his his head upside down and looking around.
Notes: LMAOOO he's such a nerd!! Yeah don't worry he'll be cooler than this. he's a nerd when he's by himself for the most part >_<

PROTECTING The DONGSEANG
Take a bow the night is over this masquerade is getting older lights are low the curtains there's no one here. Say your lines but do you mean them? Do you mean what you say when there's no one around. Watching you, watching me, one lonely star
Hyun Su pushed his mother's wheelchair up the sidewalk to his appa's former partner's house. He had taken to helping out Hyun Su and his mother after his father's death. At least once a week Hyun Su and his madre made their way from their small appartment over his uncle's shop to the spacious house his fafther's partner lived in. When Hyun Su reached the steps he put the brakes on his mother's wheel chair and rang the doorbell. The door was soon opened and with the help of the older man Hyun Su helped his mother into the house. Once insided Hyun Su looked around forthe man's nephew and Hyun Su's best friend Young Hwa. The older man gave a nod towards the back yard and Hyun Su smiled and ran off.
At nine years old Hyun Su was much older, maturity wise, then most of the kids his age. In the short time he had been alive he had to deal with his mother being paralyzed from the waist down and his father being shot in the line of duty. And then on top that they were forced to move from their wheelchair accessable house to an appartment above Hyun Su's uncle's auto shop. The appartment was small but they had almost been evicted from their previous house so they hadn't had much of a choice.
Hyun Su smiled and opened the the gate that led to the backyard and petted the dogs that came running towards him. After greeting the dogs Hyun Su took a look around the background and when he didn't see Young Hwa he knew he had to be in the tree fort. Smiling Hyun Su ran towards the biggest tree in the yard. He started climbing up the "stairs" with outlooking and this lead to him knocking heads with Young Hwa.[/b]"Ouch! Hyung why is your head sticking out of the hole. It makes it kinda hard for me to get in if you're half out of it."[/b]

Yong Hwa hadn't expected the younger boy to cross the yard and start climbing the steps on the tree (which were really just two steps up the tree and then some wooden bars drilled into the tree to grab onto) so quickly. So when they bumped heads Yong Hwa jumped a little and held his hand to his chest for dramatic effect. "Aish. Your like a cheetah or something. You got here so fast!" Yong Hwa said as he smiled at his friend with his head still in the hole. He then realized though, that it was not nice to keep Hyun Su hanging on to those wooden bars forever, and he quickly scooted across the floor of the fort so that he could give Hyun Su space to climb up into the tree.
Once Yong Hwa was far enough from the hole, he rolled over onto his stomach and then got up on his knees so he could put the book back where it belonged with a stack of other books and then stuffed the pillows and blanket over in the corner so it wasn't such a mess up in the fort. Not that it mattered since they would end up making a mess some how anyways. But at least this way it wasn't such a mess right off the bat.
When Hyun Su got all the way into the fort and was no longer in danger of falling the rest of the way back down the tree, Yong Hwa moved over to the hole again and stuck his feet out of it so he could dangle them out and kick a little. He loved the feeling of nothing being beneath his feet. "Did you come with your mother again? How is she doing?" Yong Hwa missed his mother a lot since it's only been 3 years since she died. He, however, didn't miss his father at all. His father had sent him here to live with his uncle, and his uncle now was more of a father than his father had ever been to him. His father always spoiled his older brother with all sorts of things, but then cast Yong Hwa aside like he wasn't even his son or relative. These things were unforgivable in Yong Hwa's eyes and he knew he never wanted to see his father again. Which was good since that was probably going to be the case anyways.

Hyun Su smirked at his hyung from his position on the wooden bars. He hoped that Young Hwa hyung would let him into the tree house here soon. "Haha mamma says that too! Appa used to say that it'd make me a good cop some day." Remembering his father's words made a twinge o sadness rock through him. He managed to conceal this as Young Hwa had finally granted him entrance into the fort so he didn't have to face his hyung. He didn't want to let him see the weakness in his eyes at the thought of he deceased father.
Whe he finally got situated within the tree fort Hyun Su pulled off the baggy sweatshirt that his mamma had insisted that he wore. She had let him wear shorts but told him that he had to wear a sweat shirt. Hyun Su had listened because one, she was his madre, and two he knew she was still used to weather in Italy and Ireland. There the weather changed every five minutes. But he had been dying in his sweatshirt. One of advantages of her being in a wheel chair though was that she couldn't come check on him in the tree house.
Hyun Su mimicked Young Hwa and let his feet dangle from the hole, kicking them back and forth freely. A frown played at the corner of Hyun Su's mouth at his hyung's question. He knew that Young Hwa and his uncle didn't mind them coming over, heck they invited them over, but part of Hyun Su felt like they pittied them. And that made him feel like a failure, when his appa had died Hyun Su was supposed to be the man of the house, especially with his mother being paralyzed. And what had happened? They had been forced to move from their hour to a cramp little apartment, and were on welfare. His mother couldn't find a good job because she either had to work from home or had to work close to home because she had no way of transportation. "De. Mamma is talking with your uncle. She's doing pretty good. She got a small job working for my uncle. She's going to sorta be like his secretary. But he works in an auto shop, not much work she can do..."

Just a Small Town Boy Living in a Lonely World
With Hyun Su’s ‘status update’ of the younger boy’s mother, Yong Hwa watched him and nodded after commenting on the fact that there wasn’t much work his mother could do at an Auto shop as a secretary. ”I’d imagine she would file paper work, take calls and handle money, right?” Yong Hwa had actually never set foot in an auto repair shop, however he imagined it was no different from other places where there was paper work, money, and customers to deal with on a regular basis. In all reality though, someone in a wheelchair would fit in nicely at such a place. She wouldn’t have to go out anywhere for errands, and could deal with customers that perhaps the workers wouldn’t have time to work with.
”She’s good with people, right? She’s a mom, so I bet she’s great at telling people what to do. Is she going to deal with paying the workers and stuff too? I bet she’d be a great business woman…” Swinging his legs faster with each word, Yong Hwa felt himself becoming a little hyper in the way he spoke and the way his legs kicked, yet his facial expression didn’t change too much. Not until he mentioned her being a great business woman and his lips spread into a wide, slightly crooked smile.
Just then, Yong Hwa heard something down below the tree fort, and he shifted in his position so he could look below, only to find his uncle’s german shepherd and cocker spaniel at the bottom of the tree. The dogs were taught not to bark unless there was an emergency, so all Yong Hwa had heard was the jingling of their collars as they ran over excited to smell the human scent of the two boys. ”Should we bring Nana up?” he asked about the young Cocker Spaniel. They’d brought the dog up into the fort before by very calculating means, so it shouldn’t be too difficult again, right? All they would have to do was Yong Hwa go down and get her, carry her in one arm since she was so small, and then climb half way up the tree and reach her the rest of the way up while Hyun Su sat in the fort, waiting for Yong Hwa to reach her up so he could grab. It wasn’t difficult to do. He only wished Jacque (jack) could be brought up too. But the German Shepherd was too large for such things.

Hyun Su shrugged his shoulders and frowned slightly. Sure it sounded ideal for his mom but in reality the shop was cramped and there wasn't a lot of room for her to move around. Plus to get to the shop period was a piece of work. There was no elevator so for her to get to the shop they had to carry her and the wheel chair down and put her in the office. "It's just really crowded for her. And she has to be stuck in the office all day. I think she misses her job at the hospital but they wont let her come back. When I get older I'm gonna make sure mamma never has to work again! Appa told me I'm to take care of mamma after she got in her accident but I'm not doing so well..." Hyun Su trailed off thinking of his father's words to her when they found out that his mom would be wheelchair bound for the rest of her life. He had promised to take care of her and that she'd never wory another day in her life. Then his father passed away and at eight years old there was literally nothing he could do.
When he say his hyung's smile he couldn't help but smile as well. Young Hwa had always had this infectious vibe about him. Hyun Su felt himself perking up. When Young Hwa's attention was diverted with the dogs below Hyun Su slipped out the straw and spit balls he had stashed in his sweatshirt pocket. Slipping one of the little balls into the straw he aimed at his hyung and blew. As soon as this was done he hid the device behind his back and acted like nothing happened.
Hyun Su mimicked Yong Hwa and looked down at the two dogs below. They were two of the sweetest dogs he knew. He knew that they both, especially Jacque, were trained to attack intruders and handle emergencies but they were never anything but sweet when he was around. It was hard to picture them attacking anyone, unless you count them licking people to death. "De! We should bring up Nana! It was funny last time she was up here. Except this time we need to watch the hole..." Hyun Su remembered how the poor cocker spaniel had almost fallen through the hole because they had a lapse in attention.
Notes: I'm sorry! Is it better this time?
