OOC: Well, now it's time for my first RPG post... ever. Let's see how this goes. (If my writing style is a little off, I wrote eight pages for Warrior's Blood earlier today and I'm a little burned out right now.)
IC: "Look at this."
Silence. After all, there wasn't much that could be said in the face of something like that.
"Look at this," Carnoc repeated, gesturing at the bodies in front of him. "Krain and Vical. Two strong dragons, killed in their prime by these violent humans. And worse, their hatchling is gone." Carnoc turned away from the bodies of his dead friends. He couldn't bear to look any longer.
When none of the rest of the tribe spoke, Carnoc continued. "We cannot allow an act like this to go unanswered. Yes, we have always done our best to avoid humans and live in peace. We all know that. But after something like this... We cannot keep our peaceful seclusion any longer. Not if the humans will attack us with no provocation."
A few of the gathered dragons began to whisper to each other. Carnoc growled, and their respect for him brought instant silence once again.
"The humans have stolen their hatchling. Whether she's dead or taken prisoner, I do not know, but we must find out and rescue her, now. While the humans are still celebrating their victory."
There was awkward shuffling among the tribe. None of them seemed eager to pledge themselves to their leader. Then one dragon stepped forward.
"I will go with you," she said.
"No, my mate, you cannot," Carnoc said in an undertone, brushing his tail along her flank. "Not with our egg growing inside you. We can't risk it, not if a war is starting." Melora lowered her head, submitting to his request.
Carnoc raised his voice to address the rest of the tribe. "I don't expect those of you with young or expecting young to go with me, or the very old. But there are more than enough of us, strong, always ready to fight, that can move to attack these humans. I'm going to chase after them, and I expect every able-bodied one of you without a reason to stay behind to come with me. Krain was my best friend, and these humans have killed him, killed his mate and kidnapped their hatchling daughter. This act will not go unpunished! Who's with me?"
The assembled dragons roared in response. Carnoc spread his great wings and took to the sky, thirty dragons flying behind him. Carnoc narrowed his eyes and looked towards the distant horizon. He growled and spoke to himself in a whisper lost in the rushing wind of his flight.
"They will pay for your death, my friend."
OOC: anything I did wrong?

OOC: Hugh, My first post absolutly sucked, yours is very decent... anyways.
IC: Mikey jerked awake, yanked the sheets off him, and crept outside. Live gunfire was going off, a few miles away. Why here? he thought I'm in... somewhere, the middle of nowhere....hopefully. What is going on? He weighed his options up, Flee was the first and easiest thing for him to do, or find out what was going on. He had always been very inguistive, but the past few years.... he had run from everything, well, except the locals. They gave him some gifts, welcomed him to the tribe, even started to teach him the language, but police tracked him down. After all, he was a killer.
He could go deeper into where ever he was, or go into a firing range. Right. It seems safe that way anyway
Just as he turned around to go the other way, but gunfire erupted closer this time, in the direction he was about to go in. He did a perfect 180 degree turn and headed towards the first fight. Or maybe this way....
OOC: Aha, my sweet luck. One of you two's chary's could meet with me... somewhere. You cn decide where, when and who.

OOC: Hugh, compeared to my first RPG post that was awsome. You're going to have to remind me who RL is fighting. IC: President Bod Vander Plaads sat in the Oval Office reading over random documents. Behind, to right, sat the flag of the country he served. Back to the left stood the flag of his office. He had only been in offce a few short mounths but already he could see presures piling up. At 9:00 am he had a press confrance about a new bill he signed. At 10:30 he had a meeting with the Cheif of Staff. At 12:00 he had to fill out a negotation agreement. And so the day went. The only thing missing is discovering a knew people group!

OOC: Well, I'm waiting for my writer's block to bug off. But I'll try...
And...stop OOCing so much!!
IC: Jaiden watched helplessly as bullets flew across the street in front of her, between her captors and a new group of humans that were attacking them. Eventually, the attacking group had killed the men in front of her cage and one of the attackers approached the cage, gaping in awe. It was at this point that Jaiden noticed the awkward looking bowl-shaped thing that was on the stranger's head. It was much different than the pieces of cloth that her captors always had wrapped around their heads.
After a few seconds, another bullet flew by the helmeted stranger and Jaiden cowered back to the far corner of her cage, but the stranger quickly raised his gun and fired at the shooter, hitting him in the temple. The bowl-wearing man then motioned to the other men wearing bowls on their heads. The men immediately nodded and spread across the street, which led Jaiden to assume that this man was the leader.
Now that the men had spread around, guarding the leader, he advanced towards the cage and grabbed at the lock, looking at it. He then jiggled it around, eventually getting frustrated and giving up the attempt. Jaiden, now realizing that the stranger was attempting to release her from her cage, became more at ease and began to come away from the back of the cage. Now the leader of the bowl-wearers began to bang his gun against the lock, but to no avail. At this point, Jaiden started to lose hope, deciding that the stranger would never be able to open her cage.
Suddenly, the stranger, looking rather frustrated, raised his gun, pointing it into the cage. Jaiden, seeing the gun pointed at her, turned away and closed her eyes. She knew this was it. The bowl-wearing leader was going to kill her.
Jaiden heard the gunshot, but felt no pain. Slowly, she began to turn, opening her eyes to see the cage open and the stranger standing in front. This human rescued me, Jaiden realized, I've been rescued by the same race that imprisoned me. Still slightly wary, Jaiden walked out of the cage and looked up into the strangers eyes, feeling a strange feeling of connection between them.
The cloth-wrapped ones would surely have killed, or abused, me. I owe this human my life

OOC: And now...Mr. Rashid al Din, ladies and gentlemen.
IC: On the north side of the village. Four minutes earlier.
Commander Rashid al Din looked out over the village from his command tower just north of the village. From here, he could see the entire village. From the north of the village just south of him to the south side, about two miles south, where the Town center was. Where the dragon's cage was. As he looked out, he watched the south vigilantly, ready for any attack that might come.
Smiling out at the sun setting behind the hills, Rashid stood and walked to the refridgerator. He slowly pulled open the door, revealing an abundance of soda and lunch meats. Despicable. Absolutely despicable. Nonetheless, Rashid pulled out a can of coke and popped the tab.
Just as Rashid brought the can to his lips, he heard gunshots. Recklessly spilling coke all over himself, Rashid ran to the window, hoping against hope that what he had heard had not come from where he thought-...alas, as he looked out to the south he saw it. Flashes of gunshots and men running about near the Town center.
Quick as a flash, Rashid was darting down the stairs of the tower and had soon reached the bottom, where he yelled to the nearest group of soldiers to follow him in jeeps down to the cage. Now, the sight of such a man as Rashid al Din carrying a wet Coca-Cola can with soda all over his shirt and pants, yelling as frantically as he was would generally be enough to make any man laugh uproariously. However, the soldiers did their best to follow the orders instantly.
Soon, Rashid and his soldiers were roaring down the road towards the Town center. As they approached, the gunfire ceased and Rashid assumed that the attackers had killed his guards. Once the jeeps were within about two hundred yards of the cage and inside the city, Rashid saw several American soldiers, spread across the road.
The jeeps stopped and fire immediately commenced. However, all that consumed Rashid's thoughts were that dragon, which he could know see. It's cage was apparently open and an American officer was standing in front of it.

OOC: RL, where exactly in Saudi Arabia are you, Jaiden and Rashid? Anyway... IC: Carnoc guided those of his tribe who would fight with him south through the mountains, finally emerging onto the plains beyond just after sunset. Turning back and hovering in the air for a moment, he called to them, "now that we've left our territory, we have to fly low." He could remember his father telling him about the bizarre human invention, "RADAR," which according to his father could be avoided by flying low to the ground. Carnoc spun back around and resumed his flight, the rest of the tribe trailing close behind him. Their progress south into the emptier, drier lands was quick but dangerous; they were constantly forced to make detours around human cities and towns. Despite the fact that they were moving to reveal themselves to the world, Carnoc did not want the humans to know until it was time for a fight. A couple hours before dawn, Carnoc heard a faint thwok noise up ahead. He continued flying for a few minutes as the sound got louder, then finally realized what he was hearing. Knowing that the humans in their helicopters would not be able to hear him over the sound of their propellers, he spun around again and roared, medium volume, to signal the tribe to stop. "There are some human helicopters up ahead," he told them. "They're in our path south, so we're going to have to deal with them. Come at them from below, and attack them at the rear. If you can knock off the little spinning thing on the back, the things can't fly." The sky was just beginning to turn a lighter shade of blue to the east when Carnoc finally caught sight of the flight of choppers. He motioned to his warriors to spread out beneath the helicopters, so that they all could attack at once. He had twice as many warriors than there were choppers, so the rest held back. Then Carnoc gave his signal to attack, a loud roar, and he lunged upward into the lead helicopter. He heard a human scream, audible over even the helicopter blades, just before he hit. Then he was there, closing his claws around the front and rear sections of the flying contraption. One set of claws hit the protective pilot's bubble and failed to pierce through or grab on, but his other foreclaws sliced right through the tail of the aircraft, severing the rear propeller and showing him with fuel. The scent of the gas gave him an idea, and he breathed a jet of flame at the chopper above him, which lit the gasoline in the tank and detonated it, shattering the chopper in a giant fireball. He had closed his eyes to protect them, but the shockwave still had enough force to knock him into the ground, hard. He rolled, snarling, then leapt back into the air. None of his warriors had duplicated his feat exactly, but all the helicopters were either on the ground already or on their way there. From the looks of it, there would be no survivors. "Let's move on," Carnoc shouted, pausing only to pull a piece of shrapnel from the thin membrane of his wing. They continued their flight well past dawn, and an hour before noon Carnoc passed the word back that they could stop, hide themselves and rest if they grew tired, but that he would be flying on for at least another five hours. Nobody stopped flying, which pleased him. But then he heard the sounds of gunfire off to the west. OOC: I like long posts... And RL, there can be some human survivors from this fight if you so desire.

Mike trudged over a particularily tall hill, the constant rat-tat -tat-tat-tat of guns was even louder He then dropped to the floor, as he saw jeeps opening fire on a bunch of soldiers. Hopefully the hunt for me has died down he thought, as he realised the soldiers fired upon were American. His thoughts then strayed towards a cage. Mike nearly yelled at what he saw, a magnificent white dragon was in the cage. He had always loved dragons, he was on this site ages ago, before he went on the run, called Dragon Flame. That's how much he wished they were alive......well, his wish had come true now! As Mike gazed in wonder at the dragon, a bullet hit the ground near him, and dirt sprayed all over him. More bullets hit near him, and Mike had to roll, a saudi arabian was firing at him. Perfect, just lovely, can't they see I'm not with the Americans? he had no time to complain anymore though, as a bullet skimmed his trouser leg. Yelping with surprise, he ran down the hill, and found cover behind a large rock. The bullet whizzed past, or hit the rocks. Explosions could be heard now, obviously demo charges were going off. Mike peeped around the rock, as the hostile fire toward him stopped, to see an American turn around and open fire on one of the last dozen remaining jeeps. The others lay in tattered and burnt ruins. Mike snapped his head back when his saudi arabian opened fire on him again. Could this get any worse? As he thought that, a rocket hit the bank near him. Why do I have to say that? Why do I always say that? Heh, I may as well make a run for it As he ran from his rocky shelter, it was blown to bits by another rocket. Mike was knocked off balance, and hit the ground hard with a thump, and then..... he began to lose consience........ OOC: Help, young boy on floor.

OOC: Hugh, who said they were American helicopters? You just killed a flight of Hind-35 Ds. Saudi craft.
IC: Sam stood up, looking at the white dragon staring back at him. "You're a lucky one, aren't you?" he said, smiling a bit. Then a noise caused him to turn around. A gunman, apperantly having survived his squad had raised his gun and was aiming for him. Without thinking, he dived infront of the small dragon as the gunman fired, the bullets thudding into Sam's body armor. His squad heard the shots and neutralized the gunman. Slowly getting up, he reached under his armor, felt the bruises, and winced. But the only thing that mattered was that he could still fight. At that moment, his COM set pinged. Sam keyed it, and listened. "Captain Yeager, are you there?" the radio man asked. "Yes I am, what is it?" "Sir, we were tracking a flight of Hind-35 D attack helicopters heading towards your position." the man started. "And?" "Half way through, they started to dissapear off the radar one by one. The two F-22 pilots in the area did not report engaging enemy Hind helicopters. I suggest you stay sharp," the radio man said. "Thanks for the heads-up," Sam replied. He keyed his COM off and told two men to ready the Stinger Launcher, and the other men to look for intelligence. "Time to get out of here," he said when his soldiers came back, then looked down at the dragon. "You don't have anywere to go, don't you?" he said, "so I guess your coming with us." As he turned to leave, more gunfire exploded from his left. He saw several jeeps attacking his troops. Keyeing his COM, he yelled at the radio man, "We need A-10 support! Enemy vehicles engaging!" At that moment, a Javalin Missile from his men blew one of the jeeps apart.
OOC: A-10s are close air support aircraft. Tank-busters.
