There's a bug with commanders, which have in their squads more than 1 unit. For example: Tau Commander (his drones), Imperial Guard Command Squad (no comment smile.gif)... So, when you're upgraded your hero with some heroic equipment and hero dies... you can buy him in his squad at the standart price, not increased after upgrades.
