Alright guys, time for our first big Mod intervention. Please do not take this as a personal attack in any way. This applies to every single player in this game and every single character in play so we're not trying to call out any one individual. This is something that we feel needs to be said to the entire group.
We have a lot of characters in game at the moment, which is great! Opens up the opportunity for a lot of character interaction and development, plot twists, and stuff of that nature. Except it's not really happening. Like we said above, everyone is guilty of this, us Mods included, but it's come to a point in game where a lot of characters are centered around other characters and there's not much branching out going on. Characters in a relationship are very hard to break away from each other, players seem to gravitate towards specific players only and there's a lot of division and favoritism when it comes to threading and tagging.
We're also seeing a lot of some characters being pushed to the background and not being used. Characters that have the potential to go somewhere and do something shoved to the side and ignored in favor of others.
We all have those characters that we feel comfortable with. Those ones that are just easy for us to post with and easy for us to really get in character for. That's fine. But if you find yourself unable to really connect with a character you have, you may want to consider dropping them. We expect people to post with all of their characters, make an effort to keep them active because if you took the time to apply for them, obviously you want them. So from here on out, we ask that everyone do your best to be active with all your characters. If you're having trouble finding a voice, save that character for last in your line of posting and work them out at the end. If any character inactivity keeps up from this point forward, said character(s) will be at risk of being taken away by us Mods.
In the same breath with character activity, please be considerate when you're posting. If one of your characters is in multiple threads, post to all the threads. You have people waiting on you whenever you skip over a thread, even if they aren't around, and it can get frustrating for all parties involved. It's okay to have to say 'Tag' to people, remind them that they have a thread they need to post to but it shouldn't be something that happens on a regular basis. If you need to, create a thread tracker for yourself in the OOC area or subscribe to threads. There's also the "Today's Active Topics" link at the bottom of the boards that's quite handy and the portal linked at the top of the board that can also be handy.
We love you guys and everything you guys have brought into this game. We just want to see everyone playing with everyone and everyone getting the chance to play instead of sitting on the sidelines stuck in limbo. Remember, we're well aware that all parties involved in this game are guilty of it, including us Mods, so let's all do our part to keep things fun and flowing smoothly yeah?
