Josh was still tired. He'd slept the entire weekend, completely through and when he woke he was starving. He ate more than he probably should have and then spent the another day out of class because of the gold in his hand, up his arm. He hid it from Nick, but it wasn't like Nick spent much time in the room anyway. He didn't know what happened after he tried to heal Blaine, how well Blaine was healed, nothing.

He didn't ask. He didn't pursue finding out. He just... continued with his life... until the text message. He stared at it for a long time before stepping out into the hallway to go towards the other boy's room. There was still the barest hint of the gold along his cuticles but no one had taken notice of it.

He rapped on Blaine's door rapidly, his eyes focused on the door as he did so. He didn't make eye contact with anyone else because he didn't want anyone else questioning why he was hovering out side of Blaine Anderson's door.

It wasn't like he and Anderson were friends. Because they weren't . At all.

The door opened a second after Josh had knocked, Blaine offering a faint smile before motioning for the other to come inside.

"Sorry it took so long to get, my dad was a bit busy this week," he said apologetically as he moved over to his desk, snagging the item in question off it before turning around to offer it to Josh.

It was a watch, rather generic in look. The faceplate on the inside of the watch had the Stark Industries logo on it though one had to tilt it just right in order to see it in full.

"You can turn it off and on, though I know you're going to just be keeping it on all the time," he said absently, tilting the watch slightly to show Josh the two buttons on the side that looked, to anyone else, just like the normal dials on a watch. "This one turns it on and this one turns it off. As long as you have it on it'll automatically negate your mutation and keep it from showing itself at all. The watch itself is shatterproof and waterproof, so don't worry about it getting damaged."

He held it out to the blonde, head tilted a bit.

"If you start having any troubles with it for some reason, bring it back to me and I can get it fixed." Or fix it himself rather but he left that little bit out.

Josh stared at the watch, a little shocked that such a thing actually really existed.. and that it was being handed to him now. By a kid who had so much trouble moving before but now seemed okay. It was ... interesting. Amazing even. He was caught staring at Blaine and the way he moved before he reached to take the watch.

"On and off huh...?" He turned the watch in his hand before sliding it over his wrist, adjusting the strap so it would fit. He pressed the on button and the touches of gold around his cuticle vanished just like that. There was an odd empty feeling in him, like part of himself blanked out and he hadn't expected that, but it was tolerable.

He tilted his wrist, peering at the watch, then looked back up at Blaine.

"How did you get something this sophisticated from Stark Industries this fast...? I didn't think they sold these except to a high end market..."

Tucking his arms behind his back, Blaine shrugged a bit, a secretive sort of look on the pyrokinetic's face.

"My dad knows the right people," he said simply, nodding at the watch. "Like I said, it should be able to handle anything so just don't lose it and you'll be all set alright?"

He was glad he could help Josh, he really was--especially now. The other had done so much more than he probably realized for Blaine that this was the least he could do for the blonde. He had every intention of paying the other back in some other way too but he hadn't really figured out what else he could do for Josh since the other, for the most part, didn't seem to like him all that much.

"..The offer still stands too, if you ever need anything else alright?"

He extended his fingers out slowly, flexing them. It was fascinating. The way this technology work. As long as his parents never got a sniff of it he could have his power hidden for the rest of his life, or until he took the cure. He could just say the watch was a gift from a friend.... This worked out perfectly.

Except for that empty feeling in his chest. That feeling that didn't want to go away, that maybe, just maybe it was a mistake when he looked at someone like Blaine... someone that needed healing that Josh could apparently provide with a few spoken words.

"....I feel like I'm doing something horrible to people I don't even know." He lowered his hand. It was a feeling he was going to have to get past, obviously.

"Your mutation is one of those ones that could help a lot of people," Blaine said softly, nodding a bit as he watched Josh then looked at the watch. "But, at the same time, is it worth it if you aren't comfortable with it? As great as helping people is, it's okay to be a bit selfish sometimes."

He really did want to encourage Josh to help others with his power, to embrace it and use it to its fullest but ultimately that was something the blonde was going to have to decide on his own.

"Just...remember that it can turn on and off so if you do need to use your power..if you feel like you want to use it, then don't hesitate. Because a lot of the time that little voice in the back of your head has a good point, at least as far as I've experienced," he added with a slight shrug, gaze lifting to look at Josh's face again with a faint smile. "No matter what though, do what you think is for the best."

"Is it fair to be selfish if so many people could benefit from a little self discomfort..?" It was a question he'd been asking himself since he woke up. He had a power that could provide years of life to people who had death to look forward to as their future and nothing else. Blaine already looked happier...

He turned the watch to look at again. He needed this watch though, to protect himself from his family. To protect himself from a world that saw him as a mutant hating bigot... because he was one. Mutants still caused a curl of disgust in his stomach and he felt it even with the acceptance that yes... he was a mutant.

"Tell me if you get worse. The least I can do for this watch is keep you healthy... I can't have my access to repairs dying on me."

Blaine really wasn't sure how to answer because he could understand both sides of the argument. He felt sad that he couldn't really do much to help Josh figure out that particular decision, couldn't do anything to offer advice that would work.

These thoughts were derailed when Josh spoke again and he blinked, staring at the other for a second before offering him a grateful look.

"Alright..I will," he murmured softly, nodding a bit as his arms fell from behind his back and he took a deep breath then let it out. "Thank you again, by the way. Seriously."

He didn't know if he'd fully cured Blaine or if it would come back over the years but really the least he could do was provide a source of relief for him. Provide the years that he might not have had if not for his healing power. He knew Blaine was just on a downward spiral out... Now look at him.

Josh had done that. Had pulled a person from dying to life again. Real life, breathing and moving. It was amazing. He could touch someone and provide that for someone. It made him almost like god....

Not that he would compare himself to God.

"Sure... I mean, you're welcome. Its.. ... whatever." He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck. He'd never looked at his power in this way before and it was.. ... interesting.

"It's not whatever though," Blaine objected with a slight shake of his head. "I can't..tell you how much this means to me, what you've done for me. I..the doctors had already told me they had nothing left for me sans an experimental drug and then you..." He trailed off, glancing off to the side as he smiled softly.

"..Thank you, I mean that as sincerely as I possibly can. I know you aren't all that fond of me but I do appreciate it, Josh. All of this," the pyrokinetic murmured, glancing back at the blonde with a warm smile before he was clearing his throat and looking away again, running a hand through his hair.

"So...yeah..if you..anytime alright?"

Josh looked down, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. He wasn't sure where to go with this. They had an exchange deal in place and that was it. They would provide a service to one another whenever they needed it and that was that. There was nothing else to say.

"... Alright. Um.. .... thank you. And .. whatever." He rested his hands on his hips and bit the edge of his lip before shrugging. ".. You know, whatever." He backed up, not used to this ... this. It felt like a bond almost and he wasn't willing to let this bond form...

But it sort of already did.

".... I guess I'll talk to you next time we.. ... hang. Or whatever. I'll see you around." He backed up until he bumped into the door before opening it and slipping out into the hallway.
