Important: Please Read, A question concerning the game

So Cloud and I were discussing something last night and I was going to wait to post about it but I really wanted to toss this out there and see what people thought so here we go.

The game has definitely run into a bit of a wall in a sense. I think there's just been a lot that's gone on, as a whole, and I'm not sure if people are just 'Eh' about it or overwhelmed, losing interest, etc, but Cloud and I had a notion.

Now, first and foremost, please keep in mind this is just a thought. Nothing is set in stone and we are not going to do anything that the group does not want to do. Okay? Okay. So. Here's the idea:

A restart.

We restart the entire game in an completely alternate universe fashion. The idea that Cloud had was that Dalton, McKinley, and Crawford would all be in the same town (she had said Lima but I almost feel like Westerville might be the better call just for giving us more of a world to play off of.) People can take their characters and give them completely new backgrounds/histories/etc, as it would be AU. (Or you can keep elements from their show history, there would just be no actual Glee canon so to speak.) The Warblers and the Skylarks would be pre-established groups as they're both an age old tradition at the schools but New Directions is something that the students would have to put together through game play. Characters would fall into the Freshman-Senior age range and can attend either public or private school, depending on what you, the player, wanted. Also, I know Cloud wanted to keep the mutant aspect but this time around it would be more X-Men like, where mutants are apart of society and have been. (Doesn't mean there still wouldn't be anti-mutant sentiments, they're just already an integrated and known part of society)

It would be a fresh start to everything.

Now, the downside to all of this is the loss of the current stories for characters and the character development. I'm not sure how everyone feels on all their characters but I know I myself have hesitations simply because of some of the development that a few of my characters have.

But I'm also not opposed to discussing this idea either.

So here's what I want. I want everyone to reply to this and give me their honest opinion. Tell me why you're for a restart or why you're not. If you aren't comfortable with posting it here, send one of us a PM and let us know there instead.

Again this is just something Cloud and I considered since it seems like people just aren't having as much fun as they use to but it's up to you guys in the end. Cloud and I aren't going to force anything on anyone because we love you guys too much.

Let me preface this by saying that sometimes my words come out wrong, so if there is something not clear, just ask. :)

That being said, I think that the idea is a good one. It would give everyone a chance for a do over, so to speak. There are appealing aspects to that. I am willing to try anything though. New things can be exciting too.

My only reservation is the friendships/relationships I have built on board. I am hesitant about having to start all over again. That being said, if a restart is a go, I will do that with no hesitation.

I love you guys though, and playing with you has been one of the best things that have happens to me this year. So, I want to do what is best for the game, because I love it and you all.

I think the idea of a reboot/restart is intriguing, but I also agree with Murgy about the relationships between characters in most cases. I think it is something that requires discussion, because I have a few questions about things.

I'm not dissatisfied with our current storyline and I haven't lost interest at all (just had a slow week or two, and I'll be around less this weekend). That said, starting over could be interesting - it could be an opportunity to take a different approach to things.

This is seriously the best RP I have ever been involved in, and I'm willing to go with whatever we end up agreeing on. *flings love at everyone*

Okay, gonna start this by copying Murgy and saying that I've been crap with words lately.

At first look, I actually really like idea of a restart. I'm probably that person who is kind of completely overwhelmed and asking stupid questions all the time in order to try not being overwhelmed. That being said, I really do love everything this rp is and everything that we've done in the course of it.

My only probably concern is how attached I am to the character connections and how that would show through because I'd probably forget or something.

But overall, I really like this idea.

Obviously I'm for this. I actually don't have any reservations about starting a new world. I like some of the relationships I have built up, but honestly I'm ready to start over and see what develops a second time.

I know this would never happen, but I'd really love to see the restart be a crossover with the Marvel U. It would explain the mutantism perfectly. Just think on it.

In the end, it's all about what you guys want. If even one of you vehemently protests this change, we won't go through with it. You're all valuable to us.

Let me begin by saying: Murgy, Kirikins and Kaiterson, and Em!. I've really enjoyed meeting you all. You've all been very welcoming to me and energetic.

I have been here the second least amount of time (right after Smooth Criminal a.k.a EM). So I don't really feel too much of a sway right now on either or, but, if the board is going to have a restart, I will not be joining. Let me explain,

Cue Rachel Berry moment.

I've had a dream all my life of becoming a published author, and I have a manuscript I'm currently working on. I am 7 chapters away from finishing it, roughly 35,000 words. (or the length of seven short stories if that helps you to picture it.) I have not been able to give my manuscript the attention I've wanted since joining the board. (And that's no ones fault, I just struggle with my ADD sometimes and have trouble focusing on both things.)

If the board restarts I will postpone joining it until my manuscript is finished. How long it will take to finish it? I'm not sure, I had been challenging myself to finish it in two months, maybe three, but on really good weekends I can knock out an entire chapter in a couple hours.)

And yes, if the board does not restart I will stay. I don't feel right backing out now and it has been fun, but I can't deny that if a perfectly good reason for me to leave the board came up (like a restart) then I'd like to go back to chasing my dreams.

And if you do restart, I still want to be friends with all of you on AIM if that's cool.

I'm a bit hesitant about crossing with Marvel still if only because I can any potential new players only coming in for Marvel. (Since I will do a whole new round of advertising if we restart.) I'd be more down with elements from marvel rather than allowing characters.
