.personality:
Where to even begin. Finn Hudson is something of an..interesting creature. He's sort of your typical jock type in that he's not very bright at times but then, at the same time, he can turn around and say or do things that make you wonder where that intelligence has been hiding all this time. Let's break it down a bit though shall we?

Finn is a teddy bear at times, first and foremost. Unlike most of the other jocks, Finn tends to be a bit more big hearted and while he is a bit simple minded, he tries his best to be friends with everyone and just be nice to them. His heart is most definitely in the right place when it comes to knowing right from wrong he just has a problem with his brain thinking the situation through wrong thus he doesn't always say or do things the way he meant to. It's kind of tragic really.

In the same breath, while Finn is a big sweetheart at times, he is also not afraid to get in a fight. He's thrown down with several different people before and, just in general, has a bit of a temper. Getting severely frustrated can lead to Finn having small outbursts, his brain unable to keep up with the words that are coming out of his mouth. Nine times out of ten he immediately regrets what he said or did but it's definitely a problem that he has yet to overcome.

As was mentioned above, Finn seems to have split personalities when it comes to his intelligence levels. One minute, he's as dumb as a box of rocks and is believing things like cucumbers can give you STDs and then the next minute, he's a completely different person and saying things that make people stare at him in shock for how much sense it all makes. The stupidity is definitely not an act, Finn just plain oblivious and gullible, but the intelligence is genuine as well which makes it very difficult to figure him out. (A lot of the time though his intelligent side shows itself when he's being particular egotistical, slightly mean, or just kinda evil in a way.)

That brings us to the next thing that one should know about Finn; he's extremely worried about social status sometimes. It really has turned into a kind of on and off thing with him as of late but in general Finn worries a lot about where he sits on the social status ladder at McKinley. In the past he hasn't been afraid to walk away from Glee club in order to get people to like him again and, upon winning the championship game for the school? He became quite obsessed with the fact that he was one of the most popular dudes around again. Finn lets social cliques get to him a little too much, not having realized yet that if he just stops caring so much and is himself, he'll probably have more people that like him in the grand scheme of things instead of people seeing him as such a pretentious douchebag.

Underneath it all, Finn really is a pretty good guy. He wants to help and does care a lot about his friends, he just goes about showing it the wrong way sometimes. It's definitely something he needs to work on and the first step will be admitting he has a problem. (Question is whether he's smart enough to realize it.)

.school affiliation: William McKinley High School
.grade: 10th (Sophomore)

.history:
Finn Hudson was born to Christopher and Carole Hudson, a healthy and happy baby boy that had loving parents and a bright future ahead of him. That future made an unexpected turn when Christopher was killed while deployed on active duty a year after his son was born, leaving Carole to play the role of both mother and father. For the most part the situation seemed to work, Carole an attentive parent but perhaps a bit coddling at the same time. (Which would explain why Finn is just so...out there.)

When Finn was young, his mother started dating a man she had met through the lawn care service and he was a semi-big influence in Finn's life, telling the ten year old that he should never give up the voice he had and follow through with singing and performing. After the man cheated on Finn's mother, the notion of singing kinda left his mind, the young boy instead focusing on sports, especially football.

Throughout middle school Finn focused on sports, since that seemed to be the one thing he was really good at since he wasn't all that sport, and after trying multiple ones settled on football. He made a lot of friends, though they weren't exactly the best influence on Finn, and it was towards the end of his eighth grade year that he began to start joining in on the bullying that the others did.

During Freshman year he became a bit more of a jerk, following the lead of his friends and the older football players. He wouldn't hesitate to be there laughing as they threw someone in a dumpster or teased others though, even with his slight need to seem cool to the others, he never physically harmed anyone else. Things became a bit awkward when his mother ended up getting married to the man she had been dating for awhile, the father of one of the kids that everyone loved to bully at school, Finn really..not sure what to make of all of it but his mom was happy so that was cool right?

When it was announced that Kurt would be transferring schools, Finn couldn't help but feel a bit glad, since his newly made step-brother had been getting a lot of crap from the football players--not that Finn would ever say that outloud. Appearances to keep up and all..
