"La La La La La La La La," Erin hummed as she made her way around the lounge. She had a tray of drinks in her hand, making her way from table to table. Erin enjoyed her job, she was decent at it. She was actually better than Rachel because she could handle more than two orders at a time.

"Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face and said, "I just don't care"?
" Erin sang quietly as she returned to the bar to give the barkeep her order. She still couldn't get used to some American words and bartender was one of them. It just sounded so uncouth to Erin's ears.

She turned and looked over at the stage. Kurt was a born performer, she had to give him that. He was a powerhouse, and very enjoyable to watch. She turned back to the bar. "Can I have a water for Pavarotti up there, please?" She asked as she accepted the water, and made her way to the stage. She waited until he finished singing, knowing that he would be taking a break.

"Would you like some water?" She asked, holding the bottle out for him to take.

Kurt had taken his tie off tonight, getting a little over warm. He had a few buttons undone, showing the line of his neck and his collar bone, where a little drop of sweat slid down as he tilted his head back, hand extending as he belted out that last note. He thanked the crowd before turning to step off, undoing another button.

He blinked when he saw the waitress waiting for him and he leaned down to take the bottom of water. "Why thank you~!" He cracked it open, standing up straight as he fanned himself out with his shirt. Maybe he was pushing decency but at least he was cooling off. Those lights were hot.

"Ugh I need a break from the lights." He stepped down and shed his blazer, laying it over his arm. He took a moment to look at Erin, then pointed at her. "Rachel's friend. I recognize you. Erin right? You were friends with Bayle too..!"

Erin smiled at Kurt, stepping back slightly as the countertenor stepped off the stage. "Do you want anything else, or is the water good for now?" She asked. She gestured a small table by the stage that Kurt could sit at for a few minutes if he wanted to.

"Yes, I'm Rachel's friend and Erin. You have a really good memory Kurt," She complimented as she shifted the tray she was carrying against her body, so it laid flat against her side. "I am friends with Bayle, yes," She said, a faraway look passing over her face. It was gone as quickly as it came. "He's more like my family now actually," She explained. "I haven't seen him since... well in awhile. Have you heard from him?"

Erin bit her lip for a moment. "I'm sorry for asking that. I shouldn't have," She said shaking her head. "If he needed or wanted to get in touch with me he would have."

Kurt sat down gracefully and crossed his legs, taking another sip of his water. He blinked up at her, hesitating as he thought on what to say. If Bayle wanted to contact her he would have. He knew that Bayle was very picky about who he was contacting right now and really, Kurt had been the one to do the most contacting....

He hadn't heard from Bayle recently either. He missed the other boy... Perhaps a text later would make him feel better about it, even if Bayle didn't answer. The blonde might be busy.

"No... no I haven't heard from him recently. Off on his mystery vacation." Well timed mystery vacation... right. That's the story he would spin. He didn't know how much Erin actually knew about anything.

He wasn't sure what else to say for a moment without it being too personal so he swung it back towards work. "I was almost a waiter here but I got lucky. I managed to snag a second job in the second ward too, so I'm luckier than a lot..."

He wasn't going to be so blessed that he was going to drop one of these jobs though. That was just a ludicrous idea due to how happy this job made him and the strides he could make in the other. He knew it might come down to a choice but he would have to see.

"Right, a well timed vacation," She said, playing along with Kurt's story. "I actually say him the night he left," She said quietly, sitting down, leaning forward a bit. "Ran into both him and Kendrick in town," She finished explaining, telling him what he wanted to know without actually saying the words. She could be sneaky like that when she wanted to be

She let the matter drop though, because it didn't do her any good to dwell on things. The fact that Bayle hadn't contacted her did hurt, but she also understood that he was probably trying to protect her, and she couldn't fault him for that. She would do the same thing.

"Really 2 jobs? What else are you doing?" She asked genuinely interested. She looked around and the waitress on call seemed to be handling things, so Erin could talk for a bit longer. "I really need to find another job," She said. The extra money would definitely be nice.

Oh, well. He supposed Erin knew more than he originally thought but he was more than happy to drop it. It wasn't anything that should be talked about in public. It was Bayle's private business and his business wasn't exactly legal, regardless of what city or country they were in.

It was just nice to know that there was someone who remembered Bayle as fondly as he did.

"I'm working for the city. They haven't told me the full extent of what's expected of me but I'm assuming it has something to do with what I was doing before which was running a mutant rights blog." It certainly had nothing to do with his singing...

He wasn't sure what it would all entail though. He knew he would be communicating to others, so perhaps it was as simple as being a voice for the mutants as they came into the city... or something bigger such as reaching out to the States. The latter was something that was far more frightening.

Erin was glad that Kurt accepted the change of subject so easily. The thought of Bayle made Erin sad in one way, and just plain worried in another, so she visibly relaxed and sat back, crossing her legs.

"That sounds like interesting work," She complemented. "I know that your blog was very informative. I read it religiously, but I didn't comment. I am sorry for that," Erin smiled at him apologetically. She did feel bad about it, but if she were being honest with herself, she just had so much going on in her life that she didn't feel like she could contribute anything of any value.

"I could help you out if you need it," She offered. "I know that balancing things can be difficult, so if you need some help, please ask okay?"

"Its okay, as long as you were reading it. That's the important part." He smiled pleasantly at her, taking another sip of his water with his brows raising at her. "Mmm, actually it would be kind of nice to have someone giving me a hand. My fiancee is busy with his own work so I can't beg and plead for him to help me..."

He tapped his fingers on the table and stood, with a little hop. "That settles it. I need someone to give me a hand, even if its carrying my amazingly thorough notes~" He smiled brightly and took her hand. "I'm very happy to have met you then, Miss Erin~"

He glanced up at the stage, feeling the call... he wanted to get back on stage and rock it out. He felt most alive up there. On stage and with Blaine.

"Okay~ I have to get back to work, it was so nice officially meeting you." He gave her a little hug before taking one last swig of water before frolicking back up onto the stage, leaving his blazer behind as he slid smoothly to the microphone.

Erin laughed lightly at Kurt's words. She was mentally chiding herself for not having gotten to know him before.

"It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Mr. Hummel," She said with a wink, rising as well, throwing a saucy little grin at the bartender. "I actually have to head back too before the barkeep docks my salary," She said taking a pen out of her apron and jotting her number down.

"I'll text you when I get back to the bar, but here is my contact info for when you need it," She added with a smile, returning the hug that was given to her.

"I really do look forward to working with you Kurt," She said as she turned away and headed back to the bar.
