.personality: Mercedes is fiercely loyal. Once she counts you as a friend, it would be pretty hard for her to stop being your friend. The only way that might happen is if you hurt someone that she holds dear. She would go to the ends of the earth to protect the people that she loves. Mercedes generally gets along with everyone, some might call it a flaw, but Mercedes things of it as an asset. Mercedes is a no holds bar type of girl. If she likes you, you know it, if she doesn’t you know that too. She tends to be a fair person unless you piss her off, and then watch out. You do not want her to go all diva on your ass 
Speaking of diva… 
Some might consider Mercedes a bit of a diva, she portrays some diva like qualities, but that is really only because she was always battling her family for attention. Her diva-like quality can get her into trouble at times. She usually pulls it out in the end. Mercedes puts on a brave front on the outside, but that is not always what she is feeling on the inside. She is vulnerable, even though she will only show that side of herself to her family, mostly to her favorite Auntie O, although most of the world knows her as Storm. Mercedes feels things very deeply, and takes things very personally. She used to be better about letting things roll off her back, than she currently is. One of the only things that Mercedes wants is to feel special and the center of someone’s world. 
Mercedes isn’t too concerned with the details. She is a go with the flow type a girl. Her mouth has gotten her in trouble in the past, but she is working on controlling her mouth, thinking before she speaks. 
Mercedes is a take charge type of girl. She is not one to sit around and do nothing. She follows directions when they are given, but she is not above going off on her own either. People tend to underestimate her, which is nothing new for Mercedes. People have been doing that her entire life. 
Mercedes has had a lot thrown at her , and she doesn’t want to keep getting hurt, especially by her family. Mercedes just wants to feel like she fits in somewhere, and being human in a world that is filled with mutants is not helping matters any. 
Mercedes is a religious person. She does indeed believe that there is a God out there, and heaven is a place where all people will one day dwell. She is very open minded about things, and sometimes that conflicts with her faith, but she believes that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and should not have to be forced onto others.

.abilities/talents: She makes a mean cup of coffee, and always has a shoulder to lean on. She loves to sing, but dancing is not her forte. She is a decent swimmer, it is the one place where her body can move. She can easily cook for 40 people without batting an eye, she is also able to multi task with relative ease.

.history: Mercedes was brought up in a close and loving family. They are devout Christians and attend church every Sunday, where she sings in the church choir, lead soloist. She has two younger siblings and she watches out for them. She likes to hang out with her family and play board games and watch movies, Monopoly is her favorite. 
Mercedes didn’t always have an easy time in school. She was teased a lot for being chubby and for wearing glasses. This was the time that she developed her diva-like persona; it was mostly to shield her from the bullies. Miss Diva could deal with things that Mercedes couldn’t. People backed down when she stood up to then so her life was easier, until she got to high school. 
About the time that Mercedes turned 12, her parents were waiting for her to develop her mutation, and that never happened. She felt like an absolute failure, so she took comfort in food, putting on a few pounds to assuage her guilt of having disappointed her parents. Her Auntie O was there for her in a way that her parents couldn’t be, and although she still struggles with being human, at least they live in a society where it is acceptable for humans and mutants to co-exist. 
She was a singer in church, but she stopped singing in high school, because there was no Glee club, which highly disappointed Mercedes. Her parents couldn’t afford private schools, so she attended William McKinley High School, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She met some interesting people while she was there, and still keeps in touch when she can 
Mercedes decided that she wanted to stay close to her family, so she applied to OSU, where she is majoring in music education. She is part of the choral ensemble they have on campus.
