Characters, places, and so on from the Dark Hunter world do not belong to us, they belong to Sherrilyn Kenyon. Characters we have created belong to us, the makers.

It was half past four in the morning and Lily had just finished a shift at the hotline. Now as she descended the steps into the filthy station she wondered why on earth she had chosen this place to meet.
Aaron, was his name, and he had insisted he'd only meet with her if it was someplace noone would find them. It was his third call this week to the Suicide help number, and this last time he had requested to talk to her again.
"I'll only come talk to you if you promise it's not somewhere public. You know, somewhere no one will over hear us or anywhere I might run into a person I know."
What says alone like an abandoned grime covered underground station? Not much.
Lily sighed as she wiped her hands off on her jeans.
"This had better be worth it." she grumbled to herself.
Ten minutes went by and still she sat alone and waited. As time grew closer to twenty five minutes Lily was ready to give up and would have if a sudden disturbance from the east hadn't caught her attention.
"Aaron?" She called out.
Who else would be down here, besides maybe a homeless man?
"Lily? Lily Galanos?" His voice called back to her.
Her shoulders relaxed at the sound of his voice and she watched him feebly hop over a turn style and make his way towards her. She smiled sweetly as he approached. He looked gaunt and sickly. His hair hadn't been washed in weeks and his clothes with rumpled and lived in. Even with his shoulders hunched, Aaron clearly towered over her. Then again most people did, she was rather short for a Daimon but it wasn't her fault that her gentics had gotten muddled somewhere along the line.
"Aaron, you've called three times this week. I'm really concerned about you desire to end your life. It would be a terrible waste. You do know that don't you?"

Aaron, who had to be in his early to mid twenties, shifted from foot to foot.
"That's your opinion on the matter. I have no family, I have no friends. I haven't even had a date in over two years. I'm a fucking pathetic waste of space. I'm just a destroying the earth with my pressence. Carbon foot print of doom."
It was exactly the words she wanted to hear. No friends, no loved ones, no one to be upset if he went missing. Hell who would even notice? The guy was truly a pathetic mess.
Lily dared a step closer, bridging the already short distance between them. Aaron's expression became nervous, as if he thought she was going to jump out and tackle him and take him to the funny farm. If he was only that lucky.
"Why did you want to meet with me anyways Lily?"
With a sweet smile Lily flung herself at him and wrapped her arms around him tightly. Nuzzlingly her face just above his collarbone she tried not to inhale to deeply.
"You don't really want to die do you Aaron? Tell me you don't."
It was a trick question and she really didn't care. It was too late for him at this point but she did enjoy a little test just to see how strong his will to live was. Food was always better when it put up some kind of fight.
"Uh, I did..."
Although this clearly wasn't what Aaron had expected he relaxed only slightly. She felt the muscles in his arms twitch as he conflicted over hugging her back. Such a dilemma made her smile grow wicked. To hug or not to hug, that was the question. The simple internal debate of reciprocating the warm fuzzy gesture of friendship gave truth to Lily's orignal notion that Aaron was just lonely.
It made visiting the grimey sleezy underground tunnels seem all the more worth while.
Her head tilted and she took a quick breath of clean air before she brushed her lips along the base of his neck. She felt him shiver and it was hard to stop her own body from mimicing the action. As her lips once again made contact with his skin, Aaron's arms slipped around her waist and his sharp intake of breath was unmistakable. He only felt a tiny slice of pain as her kiss went beyond normal forplay and into sustaining her life. He had long ago forgotten what pleasurable contact from another human being felt like to notice it as anything but teasing.
As Aaron's body grew weak and became limp, Lily finished taking what it was that she needed. The warm flame of his soul heated her from her core and she dropped his heavy body to the ground with a thud.
Aaron had wanted out of this life, and she gave him just that, better yet, she had given him a blissful ending to his pathetic story. Who could of asked for more?
The night wasn't over yet, she had a few hours left to burn and she felt better than ever. Hopping back over the old rusty turnstyle Lily left his body for the rats and homeless to consume.
