I think this idea would be brilliant and signifgantly helpful for those who log onto friends computers to check their nations, nationsit friends nations and my favorite, those who share the same isp and trade with each other.

Yes! It got up here! Woooo!
Of course I fully endorse this! My friend logged onto his nation with my wireless network (his dropped, he lives very short distance away from me) and auto connects to mine. So it auto connected and he logs in. Therefore, we're forced never to trade or aid him directly. I have to middlemen with two people.
And cheats/banned people cannot still get through because of the blacklist for IPs.
Full support behind this.

I think the 2 month IP deletion they have set up for now is okay.

I was never informed we HAVE a deletion. I've always been told you can NEVER interact again. EVER. =\

Yup. I'd say 21/28 days would be good.

I agree. This would also reduce the problems from logging in at an internet café or something like that. Also, I agree with every other argument for this so far put forth.

This is what i've been told as well.
I can surely see the advantages of a 20-day deletion of IP's.
E.g. after i've played CN on a company network during a lunchbreak, 2 of my colleages got hooked on CN as well. However i cannot send aid to them because we sometimes use the same PC.

I absolutely support this change. One of the largest 'markets' for a game like this is university students, who will often accidentally cross IPs with other students at the same university. In addition, if you're on holiday and visit an Internet cafe that another player used sometime last May, you really shouldn't get linked to them.

College students generally aren't affected by the current rules. The game mods are able to tell who is really on a university network and who is cheating. High schools and younger are sometimes affected but that's largely because there is almost always at least a couple of people cheating. They can log in from home as well.

Is this also true for Universitys outside of the US? Because I never check my nation at my uni (Germany), afraid that there might be some other person playing CN there.

In my experience, yes. What you can also do is set up a time with me in which you log into your nation from uni and then let me know you have so I can check the IP for you, if you're worried.

I logged in on my high school network a few times without thinking. Now I'm always slightly nervous that someone else is gonna discover the game. Especially if said someone decides to cheat. I don't want to lose a year of work because I go to the same school as an idiot.

My co-workers and I play from the same workplace and one of them got tagged for cheating when trying to send foreign aid to another.
