Land converting
  • You can turn/convert a your current land areas into 5 different types
  • The cost of converting land would be:
    Current land cost *1.5
  • Underneath The "Area of influence" there could be 6 different boxes that show how much you have each of these land types:
    1. Normal land areas (The land as we know it now, Not converted)
    2. Industrial areas
    3. Holiday resorts
    4. Residential areas
    5. National Park areas
    6. Military areas
  • After you reach the cap of that land area, you cannt buy it anymore
  • Converted land areas DO NOT affect your population per mile and are still calculated with the same formula as now... (which i think is: [amount population] / [land area])
Losing/getting rid of it:
  • You can sell it... for 1/4 of your current converting cost, YOU WILL ALSO LOSE THAT LAND (It wont go back to normal!)
  • Can be captured/lost during battles with a max cap of 5 miles
    (This can be shown in a new box in the battle screen maybe ?)
  • I havent thought of the actual numbers how to calculate the battle/nuking things things...
Resource bonuses for converted lands
  • Coal - Increases amount of all converted lands by 1%
  • Furs - Lowers land converting costs by 3%
  • Rubber - Increases amount of all converted lands by 2%
Bonus resources:
  • Affluent population - Increases amount holiday resorts AND national park areas by 4%
  • Asphalt - Increases amount Industrial areas by 2%
  • Automobiles - Increases amount Residential & Industrial areas by 2%
  • Construction - Increases amount Industrial areas by 2%
  • Fastfood - Increases the amount of holiday resorts by 2%
^ Even if you have 2% extra lands the max cap is still the 1000 miles (100 miles for military areas)

A suggestion how to make this:
after you click the land-selection in the nation transactions on the left you get this window: http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/5793/land...menucopyue2.png

and after you decide what to do... you move to something like land purchase screen, but instead you convert it something like this:

Converting choises:

Industrial Areas
Lowers infra cost by 0.01% and upkeep by 0.005% but reduces enviorment by 0,01% every mile of Industrial area up to 1000 miles

With 1000 miles of industrial areas your stats should be:
  • Infra cost -10%
  • Infra upkeep -5%
  • Enviorment -10%
Holiday resorts
Increases population happines by 0.006 for every mile purchased up to 1000 miles

With 1000 miles of holiday resorts you would get:
  • +6 happiness
National park
Increases enviorment by 0.03% and happiness by 0,002 for every mile purchased up to 1000 miles

With 1000 miles of National park you would get:
  • +30% Enviorment
  • +2 happiness
Residential areas
Increases amount of population by 0.006% but reduces enviorment by 0,005% every mile of residential areas up to 1000 miles

With 1000 miles of Residential areas you would get:
  • +6% pop count
  • Enviorment -5%
Military area
Lowers soldier cost by 0.01$ and upkeep by 0.01$/soldier and increases soldier count +0,05% by 0,01$ up to 100 miles

With 100 miles of Military area you would get
  • Soldier cost -1$
  • Soldier upkeep -1$
  • Soldier count +5%

With total of 4100 miles of converted lands (Including all types!) you would get:
  • Infra cost -10% (Industrial)
  • Infra upkeep -5% (Industrial)
  • +8 happiness (Resorts 6 + National park 2)
  • + 6% population count (Residential)
  • +15% enviorment (National park minus Industrial and Residential)
  • Soldier cost -1$ (Military area)
  • Soldier upkeep -1$ (Military area)
  • Soldier count +5% (Military area)
ps. Should there be small upkeep to converted lands ?
because i cant think of any good formula atm... so suggest something :)

I like the idea, but I don't think the admin would add something this complex to the game <psy?> .

It would probably be easier to set up a system of land-based improvements. :P

tho I suppose in the end thats all this really is :o

i think , coverted land are too specific , like: nation park, and holiday resort.
it should be something like forest, industrial, residential, institutional, agricultural etc.
therefore more broad theme.

anyways i like the idea.
