Improved land costs 30% more than normal land Improved land does not reduce citizens per square mile Improved land still increases enviromental levels the same as normal land. Improved land cannot be caputured, but i can be deystroyed in battle
How improved land is destroyed in battle
Nukes destroy 60% of all improved land Soldiers can destroy 0.07 miles of improved land until 500 soldiers Tanks can destroy 1 mile of improved land until 30 tanks Bombers can destroy 0.1% of improved land until 30 bomber strength Cruise missiles destroy land based on their tech, they destroy as much improved land as infra, reduced 20%
Forests- for each mile of forest you buy, soldier price deacreases -0.1% becasue of good source of wood to power factories to make uniforms, giving it a 30% cap on the decreasment price decreases until you have 300 miles of forest.
Shorelines- for each mile of shore line you buy, citizen income increases 0.1% because of citizen capitolising off of it, giving it a 30% cap on income increase income increases untill you have 300 miles of shore line
Rivers- for each mile of river you buy infra price goes down -0.05% because of a good source of hydropower to give your nation electricity, giving it a 17.5% cap on the infra decrease price decreases until you have 350 miles of rivers
Mountains- for each mile of mountains you buy, citizen happiness increases 0.01 because of citizens hiking and playing in the mountains, giving it a +2 citizen happines cap happiness increase until you have 200 miles of mountains

Hey Ike, I think you've got an idea with great potential here! :J
I hate it when you throw out an idea with some of the basic concepts just to give people an idea of what you mean. Then all the nay sayers jump all over it as though it were your finished product; they can't see the concept and think beyond the basic idea. Keep up the good work! As for everyone else, if you don't like it, fine; but don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. Make some productive comments and let's all work together to make CN a better, more interesting game.
Perhaps some tweaking along these lines (merely suggestions here): regardless of what type of "improved" land you buy, just have a standard raised cost %, say 20%.
Then increase the happiness benifit of each land type a bit and put a cap of say +2 happiness limit per type.
That's my 2 cents worth which you can take or leave, but either way, I think you've got a great idea.

You can buy mountain?
So when my geography teacher told me they where formed by tectonic plates running into each other, she was lying and instead governments go down to the local shop and say "I'll have 3 ridges and a couple of plateau's."

No, but I can feel the sunshine. [/reference that nobody will get]
Seriously, I don't like this idea due to the previously stated facts.

I think these powerthings are already included in infrastructure. This is failed idea, as land should already include everything you stated.
