From the Leaders of the United Sovereign Nations

Good evening, Cyberverse.

In the past few days we of the USN have witnessed the horrors of war: Dead soldiers, bombs, missiles, nuclear weapons, horrible propaganda, and untold hordes of nasty comments left by all sides on this medium of communication. It has left us shaking our heads in wonder and worry; not because violence has been selected in egregious quantities, but because the true enemy of the Cyberverse has been ignored, and is waiting in the wings to strike all of us down when we least expect it.

This foe does not select among color or creed, alliance or bloc, sphere or web. It wishes to devour us all in brutal vengeance for the wrongs we have inflicted upon it since time immemorial. It will destroy the NPO, the FAN, the GOON, the Legion, the ODN, the GPA, the IRON, and all alliances in between, big and small. Because of this dire threat to the security of the Cyberverse, and the unwillingness of Aegis or The Initiative to fight it, this daunting task has fallen to us of the United Sovereign Nations.

It is with a heavy heart, steady hand, and skyocketing blood sugar level that the United Sovereign Nations declares war on:

Everybody loves Cake, but Cake loves no one. It seeks to grind us all under its sweet, buttercream-frosted heel. We received super-secret information so classified that to even post more than a mere mention will drown us all in nuclear fire. Because of this information, we have decided to fight.

We will fight Cake on the beaches. We will fight it in the streets, and in sidewalk bistros. We will fight them at banquets, weddings, and birthday parties. They are an implacable foe, but we will stand strong and mighty in our resolve to defeat this menace, no matter how many of us fall by the wayside and sleep off the sugar rush, no matter how many of us run through the countryside spouting gibberish which would make any Marooner proud. We will restrict those with lactose intolerance issues to the equally nefarious soyCake, but we will not surrender.

We will have our cake, and by damn, we will eat it too.
