Currently tech is almost useless after a certain point and so is infra.
Tech increases happiness until level 10.
Tech affects economy if you have uranium until level 30.
Tech affects purchases until level 100. (level 9 aircraft)
Tech affects military effectiveness until level 300.
After this it is completly useless.

At a point buying infra makes you lose money due to the ukeep costs being higher than the money from the new citizens you get. Not sure what this point is.

QUOTE (admin)
After running some additional tests I think the equation needs to be:

QUOTE

(2*Tech levels)/Nation Strength = Percent off Infra upkeep bill

As a new feature I think it's better to start with a smaller discount and work up if necessary

make it .01%

That way, you don't hit that problem as quickly and the real benefit would go to the larger nations who are at the point where everything is useless. Let's face it, when you pay that mush in bills, 3% (300*.01%) is quite a bit.

You seem to forget how extremly expensive tech is. buying 10 tech with 990 levels of tech would cost many, many millions. also to help me out if anyone with alot of levels of tech could post the cost of tech for them that would be great.

why are you bumping? i voted yes... i think it's a pretty decent idea... more tech would imply more automation and hense it should lower upkeep costs across the board...

i'd say they should even be able to lower upkeep on improvements... although i do agree that perhaps even a 0.1% is a bit much... i'd have to check the math...

This is quite a good suggestion, but maybe make the lowered cost per level be .03% or so, high enough to be meaningful but low enough to keep infra costs from being completely negated.

Yeah .01 if it was across the board. or like .05 if it was only infra.

Great Idea, I support it. Anything that helps lower infra cost is good for me.

Someone from CDS recognizes me!

This is almost as good as an idea as that time I came up with the idea to have optional ads in game that when enabled give you more money. Wonder what happened to that...

Yeah I know it was. I suggested it. something i've pointed out many times in the "my profile options" thread where everyone is praising the admin for it.

Very good idea. This would definitely be a good thing. 0.01% through 0.05% should be good, in my opinion.

Kidding, I voted yes, it makes sense that improved technology would lead to lower maintenance costs. IMPLEMENT THIS PLZ!
