Cyber Nations is a game that everyone should be able to enjoy. Not only that, everyone should be able to enjoy playing this game in a safe environment that doesn’t affect their lives outside of it.

That said there are certain groups of people here who have been harassing a number of innocent players over the past few days because these harassers assume the players are associated with moderators—either by accusations of being a moderator themselves or by being affiliated with them. The moderation staff here volunteer their time and effort to maintain a structured and safe environment for all players, and are afforded equal opportunity to play the game without prejudice. Make no mistake, anyone found to be harassing someone or bringing in-game repercussions against someone because they believe that person to be a moderator will be banned from this game without a further thought.

Attempting to control the decisions of the moderation team through in-game blackmail and/or threats is a most despicable offense and will continue to be treated with a zero-tolerance policy. On top of this players from certain groups have come to wrongly assume they have knowledge of moderator identities, focusing their harassment on innocent players who have nothing to do with the mod team. Those engaging in this behavior are a sad, sad lot—you know who you are and your days here are numbered if you don’t cease this behavior immediately. The worst of you will be weeded out shortly.

Finally, there are also some players here who have been bragging about possibly committing crimes and bringing other real-life repercussions down on individuals they believe to be members of the moderation team. Anyone who makes such claims needs to be immediately reported. They will be banned from the game and where illegality is involved will be reported to the appropriate authorities in each case.

This is not an alliance matter. “Betraying the trust of your allies” does not apply here. If you withhold information from the moderation staff you will be held just as accountable as the person who has broken this rule. Just as not reporting a banned user will get you banned, so will impeding a moderation investigation by withholding information regarding in-game and out-of-character threats against players assumed to be on the moderation team.

Long and short of it: any harassment of a moderator (including but not limited to in-game or out-of-character backlash for mod decisions carried out through any medium) or someone you assume to be a moderator will be met with the harshest of responses. Those of you who have been talking big about these things that haven’t yet been banned would do well to put a sock in it and cancel your plans now.
