I just think that when a nation is put into anarchy the effects are not as drastic. I mean nothing substantial really happens does it....?

How about for every day a nation is in anarchy the population will decrease by 3-5% and happiness drop by 3

The economic effects are fairly strong, and the inability to declare war is very important in war.

Yeah, if there's a huge alliance war, and one nation anarchies another before that other one even gets on, that saves 3 other nations that could be attacked.

Are you sure of this? I've been in anarchy and declared war while still in anarchy...

I believed that to be the case from reading various people's postings on this board. I'm not sure sure, having never been in anarchy to try it out ;)

Your government is in Anarchy. You cannot declare war at this time.

The effects from anarchy are fine the way they are.
