:. Nation Strength

Nation strength is determined from a number of factors which mainly include a nation’s land holdings, military power, and infrastructure development. The nation strength acts as a guide to help you determine how well your nation is doing in comparison to the other nations of the world. As of 10/20/06 nation strength is updated only once per tax collection.

The current strength formula is:

Land Purchased * 1.5 + Tanks Deployed * .75 + Tanks Defending * 1 + Cruise Missiles * 1.5 + Nuclear Purchased * 50 + Technology Purchased * 20 + Infrastructure Purchased * 3 + Actual Military * .10 + (aircraft rating totals * 5)

I don't think land you get from "natural growth" counts in the strength formula...only calculating purchased land seems to yield a much closer result.

Manually calculating my nation strength with this formula, not counting land from "natural growth" and only counting land from "purchases/gains" yields a result around one-tenth of a point shy of my displayed national strength, which is obviously a lot closer to expected value than your result (especially considering my nation strength is 357 and change), so yeah, I don't think natural land growth is counted in the formula.

Every factor that effects your strength (nuclear, infra etc.) is mulitplied by a certain number, the result being your strength total. Nuclear purchased is multiplied by 5.

Calculating mine this way results in me ending up with 10 more strength (exactly 10) than I actually have...

It's rather strange.

Manually calculating my nation strength I'm supposed to be at: 2,725.9075 but instead my strength is 2,634.415.

I can't imagine that being a rounding error =\...Is there something I'm missing (I only calculated purchased land) ?

Yeah, it didn't work for me either. I ended up with 40 or so more nation strength that I should've had added on, but I didn't. :unsure:

I think I know the problem. On my nation page it says I have 39.741 land from purchases, but if I locate my nation in the ranking, it says I only have 27.09 in purchased land. Either this is a bug or the 39.741 includes land added due to my resource bonuses. Calculating my strength using 27.09 gave the correct answer.

okay, i can see my nation strength just fine, but when I ever look at someone elses, i see this

"1,018.685 (My nation strength is: 445.113)"

so what the hell is the differeance between the first number and the number in paranthesis? Which one am I to believe and why are there two in the first place? just to mess with peoples' minds?

THe first one is the strength of whatever nation you are looking at. The one in the brackets is yours.

What's the cheapest way to get strength fast?

i think that would depend on your nation's unit cost for each purchase. Each level of tech, for example, raises strength 20 points, but tech can be expensive.

How much do CMs raise strength?

Cruise Missiles 1.5

Per unit the increase breaks down like this:

Land 1.5
Tanks Deployed .75
Tanks Defending 1
Cruise Missiles 1.5
Nuclear 50
Technology 20
Infrastructure 3
Troops .10

So one cruise missile only adds 1.5 strenght? That's nothing. I'd need $13,333,333.33 to get into the #1 position using just CMs. So much for going rouge ;)

buy tech.....that will get your strength up :J but its expensive

otherwise infa will raise it alot too :J and thats cheaper than tech :J but only 15% of what tech would raise it. <sadno>
