Good Evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Mikko Leppilampi and I am your host for the very first Eurovision Song Contest wich will take place tonight here in Helsinki.
"audience claps"

I will do that with my beloved colleague here.

"girl climbs the stairs and walks on to the platform"

Good evening, Europe !  Terve ! My name is Jaana Pelkonen and with Mikko Leppilampi will I present this contest tonight on behalf of YLE and Eurovision, which is the foundation for the presentation of European culture in arts and music.
But at first I would like to welcome you to Finland, and to our magnificient capital Helsinki.

"audience claps and gasps" *she is pretty* , not knowing whether what is more magnificient : the capital or the hostess.

The rules will be quite simple.. each country will have to present one of their nation's bands and no colonial bands will be allowed. Only European, this to make it a showcase of a countries' traditions and culture. One is allowed to sing in the English language but the native language will be more appreciated by our jury.
Which will be made up out of representatives from the participating countries.
And they will vote with a system in which each representative has six votes. Three for the one he likes best, two for the one he likes second and one for the last song that appeals to him. The representatives from each country will -naturally- not be allowed to vote for their own country thus to ensure fair competition

"Jaana winks"

Mikko Leppilampi stands up from a chai, graps his microphone and adresses the audience:

And now we the end of the song contest and the moment where the results will be announced by the juries in the participating countries.
First we will  go, not so very far away, to the Republic of Finland for the results on their votes:

Tarja Turunen, former leadsinger of Nightwish is at the Senate House in Helsinki Tarja ? Have the results been announced by the jury ?
Her microphones creeks slightly and a button is swtiched, her voice, with a sexy accent,  fulls the hall.

Hello everybody, Terve.. welcome in Helsinki. Yes, we have reached a verdict :

For our friends in the east, the Federal Republic of Kashlinkov : 1 point

Kashlinkovians in the hall leap up, some are dissapointed while others are rejoicing.

For our friends in a country on the other side of Europe, Chemelot2 points,  their lyrics were deemed poor though, but the melody won the hearts of our jury.

Chemelotian citizens in the hall are allready starting a small celebration as if they can smell that victory is at hand.

And, last but not least, for a relative newcomer as an influential nation in Europe, a nation that seems both promising in cultural developments.... our 3 points go to the Kingdom of Sasainn

Sasainnian citizens start applauding, embrace each other and some spontaniously start singing their anthem with such fervour that the host and Tarja Turunen can't understand each other for a few moments.

Mikko Leppilampi thanks Tarja for coorperating with Eurovision and looks what country will be next to inform the audience of their results
