Title: Why did you choose your alliance?
Supergeo - June 28, 2007 08:55 PM (GMT)
So, let's hear it. Why did you choose to join the alliance you did?
FlipWich - June 28, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
I chose them randomly from a list after GWII.
DanniiMarie - June 28, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
High levels of:
Intelligence
Maturity
Role-playing
kammy1221 - June 28, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
Because they threatened to tech raid me.

When I sign up in GATO, the awesome recruiters convince me quickly.
IYIyTh - June 28, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
searched for a small alliance that had an upside.
chose correctly.

Haha.

Dochartaigh - June 28, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
i joined CN and the Blue sphere just after PWII and was trying to choose between NAAC and NpO. i chose NpO due to its smaller size and most seemed more friendly than NAAC.
Squintus - June 28, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
Because the NPO was the best alliance back in May 2006 and continues to be the best today.
V The King - June 28, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
A friend recommended my current alliance in another forums, I joined it, and I'm staying because we like to go dine in hell together.
Mayuri-sama - June 28, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
Probably because I founded it.
Vercingetorix - June 28, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
GATO- they seemed the best option at the time I joined back in february 06. I liked their charter and they were the most important alliance around. I was also recieved very well by the people there. The final thing that made me choose them was seeing a thread in the forums about them expelling a spy from their ranks... not another alliance's spy, but one who tried to spy for them.
Legion- They seemed like the only intelligent democracy around. To that point in time, I had never seen them elect bad cabinet members, unlike nearly every other democratic alliance I had watched.
NPO- I watched even Legion elect bad leaders, so I got sick of democracy in CN and decided to see the other side. I also really wanted to work more with Dilber, who I worked with some in GATO before either of us were leaders, and I really respected him.
Vox Veritas- I built this thing with Kevlar to hopefully get around the perils of democracy while eliminating the excesses of autocracy, as well as get the bureaucracy under control, which is a problem in all alliances.
Vedran - June 28, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
Because the NAAC's fail:win ratio was steadily increasing. Also because the alliance was started by people I've been acquainted with for over a year.
SgtSimpson - June 28, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
Because they found me first

Nah, I don't think that's the reason. No other reason you can think of?
Jebbie - June 28, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
I respected the members who founded it and I wanted to be part of something great.
The_ Evil_Jester - June 28, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
Moved to Global Politics.
OrangeP47 - June 28, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
Because I'm a German buff, and The German Empire sounded nice, and is :D
Meercats - June 28, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
Because I'm a GOON, there was no choice.
Machiavelli IV - June 28, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
ODN- gave good money to sarting nations and everybody was friendly. plus penguin's pub was always full of booze.
MDC- i wanted a smaller alliance that wasnt big YET. i chose them because they gave money and didnt seem like too bad of chaps. i liked their charter.
it turns out like i made the right decision here. especially since i was contemplating going to FAN before i saw them. lol
that would have been a disaster :o
AVFC1 - June 28, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Because after spending a few hours at my first alliance, the offer I recieved from TDO made them seem like the best alliance I could join.
It turns out they were anyway.
Wolfgang von Orange - June 28, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
Christian Coalition of Countries: They were trustworthy Christians with the same morals I had. I figured it was the right thing to do.
alpreb - June 28, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
Being a Paradoxian is rather logical that I'm a member of The Order of the Paradox
borman empire - June 28, 2007 09:48 PM (GMT)
I was recruited by one of ODN's recruiters to join it while it was just in its infancy.
Has I registered on the forums several days earlier, I may have been a creator!
JustinG - June 28, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Because I love The Orange Defense Network.
*still don't have my mask <<%
Sardonic - June 28, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Well I came here to play with goons from one of the SA threads, so I joined GOONS. Not exactly rocket surgery.
Moridin - June 28, 2007 09:52 PM (GMT)
Because it was a small alliance that seemed to have smart leadership.
Stuka - June 28, 2007 09:58 PM (GMT)
Ummm...
UGO - first recruited, victors of the 1-day war (i still don't know what that was)
SyN - couldn't give them a 'bye'
NAAC - Because they lost in GWII. I was going to join Legion, but i saw them as cowardly pricks (GWIII sort of proved that)
Sanctum - my expected home after the NAAC disolved. Well, actually, because Vir made it, and he was the dude i decided to follow to a new alliance, even though i'm now sad he doesn't get nuked,
http://www.cybernations.net/search_wars.as...9607&Extended=1 NV - joined for a day to make Kommandant happy.
Sanctum - you don't realize what's home until you leave.

Foreign Division - Friend of mine from NationStates built it and invited me.
LSF - Direct Democracy FTW.
Kaiser Winterfeldt - June 28, 2007 10:05 PM (GMT)

Heheh, no. The GPA was founded by Phil Gaea; I joined them because, at the time, there was no other Green Team alliance. And I sure as hell didn't found the NPO.

You're not Karp's multi?
I need to stop believing rumors.
king_srqt - June 28, 2007 10:44 PM (GMT)
GGA: Because of the Celtic theme they are a great group and Bilrow's avatar at the time was pure win
ONOS:After GW3 I wanted a taste of what it would be like outside of WUT and ONOS appeared to be the best choice for that. The membership was a great group and created an awesome community but the leadership....well we all know how that turned out.
\m/: This alliance is amazing in all ways imaginable. I joined because of the people and because of the freedom allowed to the members and I have never had more fun playing CN than i have in my time here.
Lord Moen - June 28, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
Illuminati: Because they had the best recruitment message when I first joined. I also knew a few people that had been in the alliance and had enjoyed it. Great group of guys there.
DLP: Because we have known each other from various other games for over a year now. I couldn't let them down in this game. Besides, they are a great group of people with good intelligence and loyalty.
Liberal_Extinction - June 28, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
I was just lookin around for something to do when I joined \m/. Now I've stayed b/c I keep getting elected for @#$%.
Oh and the whole alliance just plays the game to have fun and make people cry, I like that a lot.
Huntzman - June 28, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
BoSS was the first alliance to recruit me that was my color. Pretty simple.
argin - June 28, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
Nicest community and it's own diverse and odd culture :)
