Name of Game: Corrupt a Wish
How it's played: People corrupt the wish above them (usually by giving it some kind of hideous twist), then post their own innocent wish
Name: Change-one-letter-at-a-time-to-make-a-new-word game (there's probably a better title for that)
How it's played: People tweak the word above them one letter at a time to form new words

Oh, man, do I have the suggestion for CN!
Name of the forum game: Nomic
How it is played:
Nomic is a bit complicated to explain, despite the apparent simplicity of its rules.Additional information: A specific excerpt from the Wiki article for Nomic to be highlighted:
"Nomic is a game in which changing the rules is a move. In that respect it differs from almost every other game. The primary activity of Nomic is proposing changes in the rules, debating the wisdom of changing them in that way, voting on the changes, deciding what can and cannot be done afterwards, and doing it. Even this core of the game, of course, can be changed."
—Peter Suber, the creator of Nomic, The Paradox of Self-Amendment, Appendix 3, p. 362.

Zessa - June 2, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
- Name of the forum game: Alliance Elimination
- How it is played: The top 20 alliances by statistics are posted (for standardization: NPO, GPA, GOONS, IRON, FAN, ONOS, ODN, GOLD, NADC, Legion, MCXA, Sparta, Gen[M]ay, ASC, \m/, CSN, MHA, (NoV or GATO). Each has 10 points initially. Each person posts the list, but subtracts a point from one alliance and adds it to another. When an alliance has 0 points, it is eliminated. Last alliance up, with 200 points, wins. You can only post once every half-hour, otherwise your post does not count.
- Additional information: Popular game. :)
Soviet Canuckistan - June 2, 2007 02:31 AM (GMT)
* Name of the forum game: Degrees of Wikipedia
* How it is played: Basically what happens is the first person will post a link to an article on Wikipedia.org and a name of another article. The player has to get from the first article to the second one using only links in the wikipedia articles. Once the player does this they can post 2 more links for another person to try.
* Additional information: This is probably a pretty terrible explanation.
Zessa - June 2, 2007 02:41 AM (GMT)
- Name of the forum game: Kill the Sniper
- How it is played: There are 4 teams of 5 people, and one game supervisor. One member of each team is the "Sniper". The members of each tem know who their team's sniper is, but the members of other teams do not. The game is divided into 24 hour discussion periods and "sniping time" in between the periods. Each discussion period, all teams may freely discuss clues obtained during the sniping time. During the sniping time, each team's sniper PMs the supervisor telling him who they want killed (any member of another group). Therefore, to get the sniper to kill someone, each group must be very specific about who they want killed and make sure the sniper knows (you want to kill snipers on other teams). The game supervisor then gives clues to each sniper attack, eliminates the people the snipers have chosen, and then discussion time starts again (sniping time is an indefinite amount, BTW). To win: All other teams' snipers must be dead. To lose: Your team's sniper dies.
- Additional information: Loosely based on Mafia.
MaGneT - June 2, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
The story game is fun, I always do that in SOUL. We play these a lot.
It's pretty much one person starts out "once upon a time..." and then ppl continue w/ 3 words after. That can get potentially dirty tho.
Lord Boris - June 2, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
Name of the forum game: Guess the Next Poster
How it is played: Starting with the first post, you say if the last post was correct in guessing who would post next. You then give your guess to see who the next poster will be.
Additional information: Strangely amusing game in large groups

Twitchy - June 2, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
Don't know if this has been suggested yet but...
3 word story! It works like this.
The first person starts a story with the first line, for example, "Once upon a time, in far away Madagascar..."
Then the next person to post will continue the story with 3 words. "There was a"
etc. etc.
gameshark1313 - June 3, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
Game: The Mafia Game
How its played: The game is played by a group of people, each playing the role of either a murdering mafia member or an innocent townsperson, along with a game moderator. At the beginning of the game, night falls, and the mafia family members become aware of each other (by communication from the moderator). They then choose a victim, and the moderator announces the death scene. When day breaks, the town must try to weed out the evil by lynching someone they suspect to be mafia. The game continues, alternating between night and day, until one side is eliminated.
