This is a thread for statistics. I plan to update the first post daily with new charts and stats for those of us who like that sort of thing. I'll also take requests -- if I have the data, I'll see if I can't plot it.

Awesome. I think you need to pick a certain exact time to get the NS stats, perhaps a couple of hours after update, I think that's why everybody's NS has spiked suddenly, you may just taken the stats just after update, when whatever wars are still going on hadn't caused any damage yet.

5 hours after update, all of the sanctioned alliance statistics change. ;)

For those wondering what happened with the alliance stats, Admin stated elsewhere that aircraft purchases were not being corrected added to the alliance strength numbers. Ergo, the "jump" we saw was, in actuality, a correction.
Someone more versed in statistics could probably use the 'jump' to determine rough actual nation strengths at each point in the conflict using the raw numbers.

I just got home (lousy day to have to stay late) to find that the sanctioned alliances have rotated somewhat. I need to find a good way to do this... but I'll update the first post when I sort it out.
Edit: hey, you can query individual alliances now, when did that happen?

On another topic, I'm putting all my data into a mysql database to facilitate non-sanctioned alliances, now that you can query for them. I probably won't get today's charts up, but tomorrow should have everything.

Yeah. For now, I plan to track all the sanctioned alliances and all the ex-sanctioned ones. I'd been doing this in a few excel sheets in a way that makes it kind of tough to add new alliances gracefully. When the database is up, I can easily add any other ones, as well. But there are so many, I want to try and keep it limited to big ones. I've got all weekend to try and make it work better.
On the plus side, at least by tomorrow I'll have two datapoints for FAN and VE. That'll make them more than a dot on the graph. And frankly, I'm afraid to reduce FAN to an one-dimensional point. They might take it personal like, and I have it from reliable sources they're well armed. <_<

Admin changed the NS calculations. I think someone said he said the aircraft weren't being calculated in properly.
