Title: Capital City (Base) Name
admin - February 9, 2006 02:49 AM (GMT)
Your capital city is represented by the markers on the map and will also be displayed for all other nations when they
view the world map.
stured - February 14, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
i have seen people are on MY world map...its mine not theres!!! oh wait thats not it, i used to see 3 people now i see 5 and some seem pretty far away are they still the closest ones?
iamanorange - April 2, 2006 05:26 PM (GMT)
i think it shows people who are on your my ranking page.
United Blobs - April 2, 2006 05:30 PM (GMT)
It shows people who are in attacking range and within a certain distance (1500 miles?) from your centre.
PrinceScamp - April 2, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
Is there a way to view the enitre map with all the nations on it?
Pius XIII - April 2, 2006 06:22 PM (GMT)
No, that would kill the server as there are thousands of nations, overlapping.
PrinceScamp - April 2, 2006 06:26 PM (GMT)
What about just in the area where you are? As it gets annoying not knowing who is near you tand the ones that show then disapear once you change rank.
EDIT: Sorry, forgot.
Pius XIII - April 2, 2006 06:33 PM (GMT)
It would still the server. Location does not matter much to the game.

Sometimes when it's a drop down box it allows you to buy a little more than what you have, putting you in a slight defecit. I believe that is what the person is talking about...
However, I like the new purchase menu because I can buy just the right amount between tech and infra so I can micromanage my nation better (making a lot of the minimum purchases gets annoying sometimes) and I wouldn't mind having it expanded to the other fields as well. What you lose in being able to buy a LITTLE bit more, you gain in being able to micromanage and thus be more efficient and grow faster (my nation is by far the youngest in the top 50).

Yeah, that is pretty cool
Andaras - April 19, 2006 09:10 AM (GMT)
It would be interesting to other major cities in your nation which you could name, existing merely for cosmetic customisation purposes only of course.
dtaddie - May 11, 2006 03:48 AM (GMT)
is nation location ever going to matter
dtaddie - May 11, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
sorry didint put this in last one but when countries overlap and they are in same ranking i think a war should start for that territory automatically and later they would have to sign a peace treaty just thought it would be an interesting mod. would create a lot of wars but are nedded

thats a good idea :J it would make u think more about where you are and where your allanice is
Hondo - May 17, 2006 08:43 PM (GMT)
Bad idea. I'd be battling my wife's nation as we're in the same ranking and sitting on the same piece of real estate.
benfinan - May 17, 2006 09:18 PM (GMT)
yeah, thats why. the more nations there are, the harder. but at the same time, its kinda true, because in europe, there is more land competition than in, say, australia?

David Icke - July 27, 2006 06:31 PM (GMT)
So, do you have other cities, or just a capital city?
Proteus - July 27, 2006 07:17 PM (GMT)
At the moment there´s just your capital city.
SSBLOVESDON - July 29, 2006 09:46 AM (GMT)
what if i want to see other people i know on the world map?
is there any way of doing this?
ChaosEmerl - July 31, 2006 10:08 PM (GMT)
Go to their Nation's page, and click on "View Map of [Nation]"

Yeah, I'm down under (at least my country is) and it's fairly empty down here... (agh, the space) :))
Aleksandrov - August 15, 2006 05:45 AM (GMT)
I've just changed my capital to suit my role-playing records. :P
Bortos - August 21, 2006 10:26 AM (GMT)
Yeah my nation is in Australia (bottom of Tasmania to be precise so as far south as you can get on that continent) and I hardly see anyone. The fact that location affects your nation in no way does seem to make this feature completly pointless. I know there is some value in the novelty of being able to see your growing nation on a map but that novelty wears off after the first few days. It would deffinatly be good to see this feature affect the course of the game such as with the suggestions given above.
lord Isaac - September 10, 2006 03:54 PM (GMT)
Well now it won't show you anyone on your nation map.
I am in Greenland

You can see nations you can attack that are within 500 miles of you. If there out of attack and/or location range you cannot see them.

8-30-06 - Modified the ranking system in game to help improve performance. The game rankings are now based off of a 50% - 200% strength ranking. If a nation is within that range of your own nation strength you may declare war on it. - Modified the nation display map. The map will now only display your nation on the map. Does the ring around your capital city show your land?
Jasas - September 17, 2006 12:52 PM (GMT)
does a capital mean anything other than your nation's center

I understand that it would be a huge server load to handle, but as a player who joined the game right after this policy went into effect I was wondering if there are any plans to bring this feature back at all? It sounds really cool... and something which would add a whole other level of depth to the game. If not in the near future perhaps when the game is "finished and alpha" or "public" or whatever? Just curious.. i don't expect anything. If there is another thread concerning this could someone please point me in that direction?
United Blobs - October 28, 2006 11:05 AM (GMT)
The feature is unlikely to be put back as it had no ingame effect and was merely eye candy.
Reena Drachian - October 30, 2006 05:50 AM (GMT)
Can I have someone change the location of my capital for a little bit? My capital is a chunk of farmland...
