Title: Wars And Battles
admin - February 9, 2006 12:39 AM (GMT)
Cyber Nations is a game that incorporates the ability to wage war against other nations. You can declare war on anyone as long as 1) they are not designated as a peaceful nation and 2) they are within the 50% - 200% ration of your strength range or both nations are over 50,000 nation strength.
To declare war you must be viewing the information page for the nation that you want to declare war against. At the top of the page you will see a link that says, "Declare War On This Nation". Click that. If the conditions for war are right you will be able to select the nation that you want to attack and provide a reason for war.
Once you have declared war, both nations involved have the ability to attack one another. To attack another nation you must first purchase soldiers and deploy them overseas. You may only deploy up to 80% of your base military before modifiers once a day. This prevents the deployment of all your forces overseas whereby leaving your nation undefended. In order to attack, after you have declared war on another nation click the link on the menu bar that says "War and Battles".
This screen will show all the wars in which your nation is involved in and give you the option to attack those nations if you so desire. There are various forms of attack that you can engage your enemy with including cautious, standard, planned, and agressive ground attacks, cruise missile attacks, aircraft attacks, and nuclear attacks.
In order to ground battle another nation 1) your nation must be large enough to attack the defending nation with enough forces deployed to attack 2) the defending nation must be large enough and with enough solders to defend against your nation. If either of these criteria are not met then you will not be able to battle. If all criteria are met a button will appear that says "Battle". Clicking that button will immediately resolve the battle and display the outcome. The battle outcome screen will display whether the battle was a victory or a defeat for your nation, how many soldiers both nations lost, and if any spoils of war were captured. When battling there is a small chance that your nation will capture lands and money of the defending nation both for Victory and Defeat battle outcome results. The spoils of war land amounts are immediatley deducted from the defending nation and added to your nations land purchase/gains count.
Updates:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01/16/2006 - Nations now have the ability to declare peace with one another. By clicking on the "Peace" link in your nations war information screen you will be able to offer peace with your opponent. Once you submit the peace form your opponent will receive a message regarding your peace offer. Once your opponet goes to their war information screen and offers peace, the war between your nations will end.
2/15/2006 - Looting is now part of the battle system. If an attacker is victorious in battle they now have the ability to capture up to 10% (this number is randomly generated between 1-10) of the defenders available cash. If the attacker is defeated in battle they will lose up to 10% (this number is also randomly generated) of their available cash in "abandoned equipment". The value of abandoned equipment is placed in the defenders cash assets.

Hmmm i looked for the answer to this question, and i skimmed through this so if i missed it i'm sry now, but how does the the system determine who can and who can't go to war with who?, is simply the people who appear on your map or wat?
Reason i'm asking is someone attacked my friend, and then we sent several appeals to him to make peace, we set him a deadline for 6pm yesterday for me to join the war, but when i tried, it was all like you can't go to war with this nation, i was like oh :( <crying>
Exsoulja - May 24, 2006 11:03 PM (GMT)
you can only go to war with people near your ranking. If your rank 4025, and he is 3005, then you cant go to war with him since your not near his rank.

I was wondering if the outcome of the battle is only determined when the nation you are declaring war on responds or declares battle themselves? Also is it possible to get resources as a spoil of war and what happens to your stats? Does the nation's strength go up if they win and so forth?

The outcome of war is determined as soon as you click the battle button. You don't have to wait for them to defend or anything; it happens automatically.
You can't get resources as spoils of war, but you can get money and technology.
Your nations strength doesn't go up as the result of winning a war, but it may go up if you get enough spoils (don't count on it though).

thankyou that was extremely helpfull

if the defending nation has 0 troops (say if you nuked them or somone else did) does the war with this nation stop? or if they have other people attacking them, do they stop as well?
US of Europe - July 9, 2006 06:08 PM (GMT)
I assume it doesn't. You will still be able to attack that nation, as it has some defending infrastructure which you can loot, or tech/land.
john - July 9, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
when that happens the nation is sent into anacrchy. you cant attack with troops but you can still send cruise missle strikes

Two quick questions.
First, do wars automatically stop after a certain amount of time? I could have swore I read something on here that wars automatically end after 7 days, but I cannot find it to save my life.
Secondly, how do you recall deployed troops besides dismissing them?
Thanks.

#1- Wars expire after 7 days
#2- In the "Deploy Military" screen highlight soldier deployment and set it to 0 soldiers overseas/ whatever defending

When you click on the Ranking tab on the upper right hand corner of your nation page you'll be taken to a page of all nation's within your strength range. These are the only nations that you can wage war against.
Stay out of wars... they're not worth the trouble or cost.

If you send an opponents nation into anarchy, does the war automatically end or do I still have to declare peace or wait for the 7th day.
Any help would be much appreciated
Lord Melchor - August 5, 2006 03:42 AM (GMT)
Can you increase your strength while in war? I am at 658, my opponent is at 667, just within my current range. But if i buy more troops or other military, I am out of range. War has already been declared, will this end the war?

Black Numenorean - August 31, 2006 02:35 AM (GMT)

Davopia - August 31, 2006 02:51 AM (GMT)

You can only be at war with 3 other nations. It means that you can only attack a nation that is relatively close to you in strength. All nations are ranked on their strength, and you can only attack those with 30 ranks above or below you...
As said, click on "Rankings" at the top of your "View My Nation" page...

Achmed - September 30, 2006 09:14 PM (GMT)
Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't it that you cannot be attacked for the first three days? How is it that i've been invaded by three countries on my second day?
fallenangel77 - October 3, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)

"You cannot attack (unkown)at this time because they do not have enough defending soldiers or enough land area to fight your forces. The government of (unkown) has just been sent into Anarchy due to their lack of security forces. Riots engulf the nation of (unkown) as your soldiers relax and enjoy their victory. "

I heard that the battle system was changed so that some of the troop ratios previously suggested (1:3, for example) are no longer effective. Does anyone have any more info on this?

Im a beginner in this game and i have question, why should i declare war? Is it just for fun, or do you receive benefits from winning the war?
