"But I know you wouldn't let it go until we have all the evidence we need," Nick replied. "Sure. I've had trouble waking up tonight. He frowned in thought. "I was about to ask you but I think I already know the answer." Nick rose out of his seat and stepped away.

Sara walked into the break room and poured them two coffee's, taking it over to the couch and sitting down "what I can't understand is why a circuit judge accepted the case and not someone from Vegas" she commented, sipping her coffee.
Nick grabbed one of the chairs at the table, and spun it so he was facing Sara. He took a quick swift from the steaming mug before, "What I can't understand, is why so many people think they can just kill and hurt and do whatever they want. I also can't understand why anyone in their right mind, if he was in his right mind, would let someone go who really was the killer, and they knew it," he pointed out, reasonably.

Sara thought back to her own parents, remebering the way it had been then "I understand Nick, the things that people do to each other never cease to amaze me" she commented, shaking herself out of her reverie.
"I was thinking that maybe the judge and our suspect are in it together" she said softly, hoping she was wrong.
Nick blinked for a moment, noticing something was wrong, but he knew better than to try to pry. He took another thoughtful sip from his coffee before he replied. "That may be reasonable. It true, we have a lot of work to do to make a case against one of the most respected Judge's in Nevada," he pointed out, grimly.

Nodding her head as she finished off her coffee "well, let's get to it then Nick" she said, feeling slightly better in herself that she had a few minutes before.
Walking back into the lab, "you take half and I'll take half" she said, taking a seat opposite him.
"OK. Let's get going," Nick tossed his mug out, and turned to one of the few computers. "You take the top half and I take the bottom half?" He suggested. He scrolled down to the point that looked as though it was halfway. "It's hard to tell which is half with the scroll bar less than a centimeter long," Nick commented.

Sara laughed at Nick's comments "yeah I know what you mean" she said, still chuckling.
On a more serious note, "I hope Cath and Gris understand why I'm doing this" she said softly, more to herself than to Nick. Sitting there and going through a few names, crossing them off as it showed they weren't in the system for anything other than speeding tickets.
"Of course they would understand," Nick replied smoothly. Then added, "Well, I know Catherine would, but I have no idea what Grissom would think. Each time we are with him we always learn something new." he smirked, scorlling through his list again.

Sara chuckled, "yeah he has that effect on everyone" she said, turning back to checking through the names. Sara looked at her list, raising her eyebrows as she realised she had gone through half of them already with no hits.
"How are you doing then Nick?" she asked, sitting back and pinching the bridge of her nose.
"If that's another way of saying you don't have anything yet, then we got the same," he sighed. "One of mine broke into a bank near Buck Hill, but it was just a kid," he added as an after-thought. "How about any of yours?"

"Well, if you count speeding tickets as the majority, and two for curb crawling, I have nothing either" she said smiling, shaking her head, "you know what Nicky? I think we are looking in the wrong places" she said, sighing deeply.
"I'm thinking this is just a dead end, also," Nick added to her comment. "We should be going through Nevada State Court records. We might find him their." Nick leaned back in his chair, putting his pen down. "What do you think?" He swivelled around in his chair to face Sara again.

Sara tilted her head to one side, chewing on the inside of her cheek as she thought about what Nick had said. "Actually, I think that's a good idea. You want to drive?" she asked, smiling at him cheekily.
Nick returned her smile with one that said, you bet. To add on to the smile he added, "Sure," Nick stood up instantly, wanting to get out of the trace while for a bit. "Ready when you are," he added to Sara.
