SKILLS:

Elementary or basics of Eskrima was the first martial art that Jia was exposed to as a young child. Starting at the age of five with her training, Eskrima, or stick-fighting, is her most well-known and familiar fighting style; however, it is the least utilized of all of the arts she has ever learned because she ceased her study of it after moving from Australia. Since use of a stick weapon is highly important to this fighting style, Jia has found it difficult to incorporate it into the street-fighting style that she has developed over the years. Beyond Eskrima, which Jia stopped practicing after about ten years of moderate training, Jia took on Tae kwon do and Wing Chun at the ages of fourteen and fifteen. While Tae kwon do was more for the purposes of self defense, Wing Chun became more of a way to align her mind, body and spirit as well as a form of conditioning. Jia still studies Tae kwon do and Wing Chun. The movements and ability to fight the fists only allows them to easily fit into her street-fighting style. However, she does not have a master or a teacher for either of Tae kwon do or Wing Chun and only knows them through private, independent study. Jia is a Judoka. Judo is the only thing that she really learned from her father and was only able to practice it for four years total. Jiaying studied and practiced Judo under her father's direction starting at age nine and continued through age thirteen when her father had to leave Australia for a job position change.

PRIMARY WEAPON:

Pepper spray and a taser. As a civilian, Jia doesn’t have a weapon that would be considered primary; however, when she was being trained by her father and took on a regular training regime when she became older, Jia had become fond of using meteor hammers, chain whips, sectioned staffs, rope darts, and kusarigama; basically weapons that grant her some distance or projection when fighting. While she naturally doesn't carry any of these items on her person, Jia does have a few of the listed weapons lying around the house and what not.

HISTORY:

According to her mother, the day that Jiaying was the day that she truly began living in this world. Before she had just existed and had no real purpose or future. Her father, however, always believed that the day that his daughter began training to a person capable of making change by way of force was the real beginning of her journey in the world. Regardless of what either of her parents believed, Jia simply stuck with the moment she exited the womb, was passed into the arms of a lovely restaurant manager and given her name as the moment that her life had truly began. It was then that she became a member of society and began to develop her personality into something that would make her who she would be for the rest of her life. Sure, being an infant didn’t really give her much leeway on the mobility or the ability to do much for herself departments, but Jiaying did figure that the impact that she had on her family and the world, no matter how small it was, was significant enough to make her important.

Thanks to the beliefs that she had, Jiaying continued through the beginning of her life and the started school with the same mindset that she had about changing the world. Through pre-school and into elementary she did her absolute best to be on the best of behavior and finish any academic activities and tasks that she had in a timely fashion. School wasn’t her main concern, but for the sake of her mother’s constant verbal expectations, she did her best to keep herself at a slightly above average level; although, in elementary school, the grades were not necessarily calculated in that fashion. Being at such a young age and not having any real need to take on a job, Jiaying, upon the request of her father, took on some Eskrima lessons with a local practitioner who was reasonably known.
