How the chemist works:
The chemist can be the kingdom healer, both kingdoms’ healer, or just a small town botanist. The chemist can use his "inspect" skill to find out what berries do and what effects foods have been laced with. The chemist starts with three vials, he/she can place these in water to fill them up, and add berries to make weak or strong concoctions. The vials can be drank directly as a sort of medicine or poison, or can be combined with food to give their effects to them. (Note that once combined again or cooked, the food looses its effects.)
Suggestions on how to play the chemist:
The chemist can be good, evil or neutral.
A good chemist can set up a stand and cure/heal people or go directly to the king and offer his skills.
A neutral chemist can easily open up a shop and sell poison or drugs to people by placing it in food and trading it for gold. As long as the neutral chemist doesn’t attempt to kill people despite their orders on food, the chemist remains a neutral part of society. (Note to buyers: Don’t buy a bunch of poisoned food and drop it around town, animals will eat it all and run off unharmed.)
An evil chemist would seek to poison the king, or everyone. An evil chemist can run around a poison food on display, or run a food shop and poison it as you serve people food.
Additions on how to add to roleplay:
To seek out more player interaction, don’t grow your own berries, get some seeds and have a farmer or two grow them for you. (Safety note: Combine a knife with the berries so you don’t eat them.) You can buy them from one source, or pit them off each other for your business.
Side note: 25 poison berries in one vial = instant death
I believe it is a four-second death.
