![]() The seal of the CSC. Name: The Confundian Security Consortium Alternative designations: CSC, the Consortium Director: Lucas Smythe Other prominent members: Alex Sheen - Intelligence and Research Specialist at Homeland Security Mercy Pink - Part-time intern, shifts between different divisions External hierarchy: Technically a part of the Department of Justice but are traditionally very independent. Internal hierarchy: Director; Assistent Directors; Regional Directors; Special Agents; Probationary Agents. Outside of the hierarchy operates various special groups, reporting directly to the Director or Assistent Directors. Structure: Divided into groups Alpha and Omega, each led by an Assistent Director. Alpha handles national security and Omega handles international security and espionage. Alpha Group Divisions Division of Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism: In charge of internal defense, especially from terrorist groups and similar threats. Division of Counter-Intelligence: In charge of protecting the country from illegal espionage. Division of Personal and Property Protection: In charge of guarding both important political figures and important government buildings (such as the Purple House, the Senate Building and others). Division of Constitutional Defense: In charge of defending the Confundian constitution from both anti-democratic group within the country (they often cooperate with Homeland Security in these matters) as well as the government itself, would it go to far. Due to this mission the Consitutional Defense have extraordinary powers in certain situations. Division of National Crime Prevention: In charge of coordinating the regional police forces against inter-regional threats. Omega Group Divisions Division of Foreign Intelligence: In charge of espionage aimed at foreign countries, both legal institutions such as diplomats (a task shared with the Department of Foreign Relations) and illegal agents ("spies"). Division of Special Operations: In charge of operations with no official ties to Confondia and it's government. Including, but not limited to, assassinations, kidnapping and terrorism. Task(s): - Protect the nation of Confundia from internal as well as external threats to its democracy, government or political stability. - Assist the police in cases involving several districts and/or international ties. - Conduct special investigations if ordered by the President or minister of Justice. Methods: History: Shortly after the creation of modern Confundia the government started the CSP (the Confundian Secret Police) to deal with problems and criminals beyond the range of the ordinary police. A few years later when several nearby nations posed a threat to Confundia the BIS (the Bureau of International Security) was founded to deal with problems across the boarder. For over fifty years the groups operated seperate of each other but about twenty-five years ago it was decided to merge the two for both economic and practical gain. The result was the Confundian Security Consortium, a group supposedly fit to handle every sort of security with the exception of ordinary criminals. As one might expect, this left very much power in the hands of a small group of people with bad results. In just a few years the majority of directors were both corrupted and mad with power. The part of about "political stability" in their instructions was stretched to include just about anything they saw fit. This continued unchecked for a couple of years until the government could no longer ignore the complaints of the people and the minister of justice launched an investigation. Most of the directors were fired or degraded as a result and the structure altered to allow greater insight into the organisation. Since then both corruption and power abuse have been kept at a moderate level. It still happens but no where near the previous heights. Today the Consortium has been led by the same director for ten years, under several different governments which has created a sense of stability in the organisation and they generally preform their tasks well. |
