Welcome to Coalescence, guest.

We are an original fantasy Role Play board based in a present-day, post-apocalpytic universe where all things of fantasy are at war with humanity and each other.

The setting is the human Refugee City, formerly knownas St. Petersburg. All races and character types are welcome at the moment. Full information on our world is available under 'Knowledge Base'.

GENERAL BOARD RULES:

We'll try and keep these short. There may be more rules added later on.

1.
First and foremost, this is an active novel role play board for medium to high level roleplayers. That means, depending on the nature of each thread, we use full, structured sentences, paragraphs and NO asterisks (*) or dashes (-) or whatever else you've seen used to denote actions. It is written in third person perspective and past tense. (eg. Bill went to the fridge and opened it.)

2.
Full stops (.) at end of sentences, commas (,) for sentence breaks, quotation marks for speech, question marks (?) and other punctuation as well as that ever so lovely enter key (found just above the right shift key) are all your friends. Use them wisely and accordingly. Same applies for spelling and grammar. We strongly encourage their use too.

3.
Be nice to each other and respect each other. Drama is not welcome here. We do not care about your bitchyness and hate and whatnot. Keep the bullshit to yourself. Those that cause drama will face the banhammer.

4.
Keep up with what people write and make some notable attempt at reading what other people's posts say if you're RPing with them. Follow the storyline in each thread and do not under any circumstances just terminate all activity and direction in a thread with a single post because if you do it, you will be warned and the post will be deleted. Leave things open for others to work on.

5.
Godmoding. Don't do it. Simple.

6.
If you have a problem with another person's RP style or post, be nice about it. Discuss it over the cbox or over PM. If you can't solve it through Pms, politely leave the RP and make a mental note not to RP with said person again. The secret word is cupcake. Everyone has a different posting style, and not everyone is able to write 2000 words a post.

7.
Help each other out. If you have some ideas for plots or constructive critiques of someone's writing that may help them improve, then don't keep them to yourselves. Same goes if you spot a spelling/grammatical/geographical/logical error in someone's post. We're all writers here. And we all want to improve our writing to the best of our ability. So let's give each other a hand.

8.
No Scrolling Marquees. ANYWHERE.

9.
We want to be an active community. Members are expected to post at least once every 2 weeks. Those with a greater fae / demon must post at least once a week. If you are unable to post for 2+ weeks, please make a note in our absences board.

We will be performing monthly activity checks, to which every member is expected to respond. Failure to meet any activity checks will result in your characters being held for a week, before being archived.

The rest for now is up to your common sense.

IMAGE RULES

Avatar size is 150(width) x 200(height) pixels. And that's it.

If you need help with resizing, there are plenty of people on the site to help out with that in the graphics request forum. Ask and you shall receive. :)

Signature sizes: Make your sig a reasonable size...We expect you to know what this means. If your sig is larger than your (average) post content, then it is too large. If we believe your signature is too large, then we'll let you know. Just use common sense. Your sig shouldn't be stretching the page, OR filling the page.

We would prefer real people to be used as your pb. No anime or cartoon characters please! Don't include any adult or offensive content. Your graphics must be a single frame file image of your character that doesn't move, sparkle or dance across the page. Also, no advertising material for other sites is to be included in your signature or profile.

REGISTRATION
(A quick approval guide, more than a set of rules)

1.
When registering an account on the board, use either

a. Your character's full name
b. The name your character goes by
c. An appropriate alias

Every playable character has a separate account on the board. Please do not group multiple characters/personas/siblings in one account unless RPing an NPC.

2.
When creating your character, be sure to fill every field in the registration form unless advised otherwise.

You will not be approved until the profile is completed fully.

In addition, pay attention to the notes in the <pointy brackets> in the registration template. They will give you pointers as to how to fill out the profile.

3.
Do not submit a profile of a completely flawless character and wonder why you've been rejected.

4.
Do not post your profile unless it is finished. It will simply be rejected, and soon deleted.

5.
Yes, the human (and sometimes animal) play-by is mandatory. Don't even ask to be exempted from this.

*

Think you've got a hang of it all?

Okay then....

Registration forms for each individual race can be found here.
