In the year 1996, a man named Wayne Clayton had an idea for a boarding school in Wilmington, North Carolina. The thing is, you could attend only by invite, and you only got invited if you excelled in one of the following areas: athletics, arts, music, singing, and intellect.

Athletics. Clayton Academy has three sports teams. A basketball team, a tennis team, and a swim team. But, you can be invited into the Academy for excelling in any sport that you play. Every other Friday night is usually when the basketball team has home games, but that is usually subject to change, and the swim and tennis teams usually have one home match per season. So whether you are an excellent soccer, basketball, football, hockey, or tennis player, or even swimmer, be on the lookout for a Clayton Academy invite.

Arts. Clayton Academy has tons of artists. Painters, sculptors, drawers, everything. They even have a gallery in the school where the student's art is displayed. Sometimes, art collectors come through the school looking to purchase some art, so Clayton Academy is a great way to be found.

Music. All musicians can be invited. Percussion, strings, anything is played, practiced, and taught here in Clayton Academy. There is a school band which is actually quite boring, but students have been known to form their own personal bands. There are places all around town to play, and agents actually come looking for frsh new talent here every once in a while.

Singing. And what band isn't complete without a singer? With Clayton Academy's excellent vocal program, many singers have made it to the big time after coming and learning here. Agents pop up from time to time, and if you're doing your best, you might just get a record deal.

Intellect. If you are one of those people who have never gotten a B on anything in your life, then expect an invite. Colleges all over the country will be impressed when they see Clayton academy on your resume because of the great academics that the academy offers. The academy has tons of classes and tons of opportunities for your intellectual abilities to shine whether it's with your peers or on the college level.
