The War of 1812, the Industrial Revolution, yada yada. So many things to memorize, but those who don't know history, are doomed to repeat it.

Joanna was not looking forward to the next half an hour to an hour of her life. The new dean that would be taking over at the end of the school year had to be announced by the end of the actual year. And Bradley would be coming in any moment to do her interview since he was a major deciding factor in this for some reason. And then he would see her at the job she hated, at a lesser job than his, and it would all really suck.

"Ready to do this?" Bradley asked Joanna after walking into the room for the interview. He took a seat and started to look at his notepad thing.

Joanna just nodded curtly. She was really not looking forward to this, but was glad that Bradley wasn't actually looking at her right now.

"First thing's first. You need credentials. What are yours?" Bradley asked Joanna.

His not sneering at her was making her even more uneasy. "I've been a teacher here for several years," Joanna told him.

"You've been a teacher at a high school that's been spiraling around the drain of failure. For several years," Bradley stated. "That's all you got?"

"It's been spiraling before there's no one taking serious action to prevent it," Joanna stated.

"I don't take bull from my students, but as a teacher, I'm not in as good a position to do anything about it," Joanna nodded.

"From what I hear, the issues run deeper than just unruly students," Bradley told Joanna.

"Not really a lot I can do about it from behind this desk," Joanna said, wringing her hands together under it, staring pointedly at Bradley.

"You still haven't given me a reason to vote for you when it all comes down to the end," Bradley said. "The last guy I interviewed on the other hand..."

"I believe I can change things," Joanna said, not liking how Bradley was taunting her right now. He was being incredibly unprofessional and it didn't even matter. "Students may not like me, but they respect my authority, and I think if I were in a real position to manage them, everything would gradually improve."

Bradley gave Joanna a nod, seemingly pleased enough with that answer. "Anything else you want to throw out on the table?"
