Most importantly, Belial first had to deal with Morrigan's power issue. Unable to contain and control such an immense force, Belial divided her dark powers into three parts, leaving her with one third of her original power while absorbing another third for himself and banishing the final third in a pocket dimension. Succubus within Makai had no real social standing and power at the point, but with all the civil war within Makai, Belial expected Morrigan to be strong enough to end the battles and unite all the demonic houses under one name. As she grew up, Morrigan found the Aensland castle to be incredibly dull, even with all the luxuries a normal succubus wouldn't have in her world. Without her father's permission of course, Morrigan often sneaked away to play in the human world, looking for exciting adventures amongst mortals. 300 years of playtime past, and still with no true leader in place, Belial decided that Morrigan was mature enough for the role. Unfortunately, Morrigan had no plans of sitting in some throne and bossing others around when she could be having more wild adventures. Constantly seeking new daring escapades, Morrigan decided to leave Makai permanently to avoid her supposed responsibilities, randomly finding herself in Gotham, the most exciting city of all.
