Valentine’s Day. It just seemed like so far away. What if someone else got to her first? What if they asked her to spend Valentine’s Day with them instead? He’d smash them into the ground with one punch. He wouldn’t let anyone near Noa, ever, but he didn’t want to take the chance. Valentine’s day was still a over a month away, leaving plenty of time for some new blonde guy to come to camp and totally sweep Noa off her feet.
Maybe it would have to be sooner.
You know, if he could ever get the courage to tell her. It was his best friend he was talking about here. Not just some random girl. Cato had always been a pretty big heart breaker from a young age, but this was different. If Noa got hurt, he would actually care. “Idunno. I may do it sooner. I just... ugh, this one girl drives me insane.” He said with a tired sigh. Then he listened about not letting her go. Although he did notice that he sounded like he had been through it, Cato didn’t need that particular advice. He wouldn’t let Noa go. Not for anyone else. “I can’t get her off my mind, there’s no way I’d let her go.”
The honest truth.
Cato had a proud smirk on his face as Daniel missed the ball. Finally. He had been waiting for that all game. But, Cato had to admit, this kid was good. Keeping it up that long had been quite an accomplishment, but Cato wasn’t one to lose, even in friendly games. “I know.” His tone was so obviously joking, even if in his mind he knew it was a perfect hit.
“Now, before I miss the ball and let you even out the score,” Since it would happen eventually, even Cato wasn’t dumb enough to think it wasn’t (although, he knew he would just win again afterwards). “What do you say we go annoy my half-sister? I’ve been itching too all day.” Well, that and find Noa. Maybe when they were walking they would see Noa. It was definitely possible. “Or, let me annoy my half sister and you can just avoid her lighter.” Cause Pepper was normally known to have one handy. With that sentence, Cato couldn’t help but smile. His sister was incredibly entertaining.

Relationships were complicated, Daniel knew that much. He was no expert of course, but he understood things, even if he hadn't particularly being through a certain situation. The thing now was that he had being through that too, so he understood it perfectly. It was hard and the ever-present doubt about the other person's feelings was just terrible. And Cato here, seemed to be having a similar problem.
He heard him talk about Noa in such a way, that it made him want to meet her too. Not with second intentions though. He knew that thinking about girls as a prize or something pretty similar was insulting so he didn't think about them like that, but he very well knew that once one of his friends had gotten his eyes on a certain girl, he couldn't go and mess with her. Even though he had just met Cato, he felt some respect for him, which in Daniel's mind, was a lot more important that just considering him nice. "Awesome then," Daniel told him when Cato said that he wouldn't let her go, " 'cause you really shouldn't. Anyways, I don't think you ever would, I mean, with the way you talk about her," well it was true, it seemed as if that girl was the first thing he thought in the morning and the last thing he thought at night.
And he missed the ball. Had anyone being around when he made such dreadful mistake? He looked around. Nope no one. Thankfully. Daniel wanted to kick the ball so hard, but he refrained from doing so. It was just a friendly game, right? No competition. Nope, Daniel couldn't think like that, he just couldn't. Still, he just let out a sigh and arranged his hair as she smirked at Cato's comment. He wasn't angry at Cato, in fact, he wasn't angry at all, maybe just a tad bit disappointed. "Sounds good," he replied as he grabbed his jacket. "Never mess with a girl with a lighter," Daniel said jokingly and dropped the ball.

No, he definitely never planned on letting Noa go. He wasn't going to make the same mistakes as other guys had. She was so important to him; more so than he had ever planned on her being. He had only been planning on flirting with her, before moving on to the next girl, but Noa had somehow roped him in. Now, he really had no interest having anything to do with other girls. Really, he hadn't flirted with any girl, other than Noa, in ages. That wasn't a bad thing per say, just odd how quickly someone like himself could change when he found the right girl. He didn't respond back, in fear of sounding cheesy or pathetic, but his thoughts were still completely wrapped up of Noa.
The idea of going to annoy his sister knocked himself out of it a bit. Smirking a bit, Cato nodded after Daniel agreed. Did the boy really need to fix his hair? From what Cato could see, there were no hot girls in sight anyways, so there was no reason to be fussy. They were only going to mess with Pepper after all. He should be more worried about getting his hair burnt off than fixing it.
"Especially not this girl." Any girl with a lighter was scary, but Pepper with a lighter was worse. He swore to the gods that one day he would wake up with no hair. He had already woken up bugs in his bed once, so he suspected Pepper would one day do something worse. Maybe if he stopped annoying her, she would just ignore him, but fat chance he was ever going to let that happen. "Watch out. She's quick." He said with a smile, making it sound friendly. Cato had expected Daniel to be scared of the idea of messing with an Ares chick, but apparently Cato had been wrong. It took a lot of nerve to even talk to Pepper, let alone be near her while Cato was around. Honestly, this Daniel guy seemed okay. Cato could use a more positive friend, since, aside from Noa, the two people he talked to most weren’t exactly the most friendly.
Now, for more important thoughts. What should he annoy Pepper about first? "Let's go check my cabin."
