If there was one type of candy that Hanna enjoyed eating, it had to be jellybeans. She liked how their taste was not very predictable and even if you had some sort of guide towards the flavours, every once in a while you would come across two that looked the same from a distance, but when in your mouth, the taste varied. She didn't like coming across those. If she expected something sweet and tasty, she didn't want the taste of gross artificial grape in her mouth, but she liked jellybeans enough to look past the couple of incredibly disgusting ones just so she could eat the tasty ones. Her favourite being the latte ones.

Now, usually Hanna wouldn't have too many jellybeans with her. But since it was nearly easter, her mum had decided to send her a rather large bag of easter jelly beans. Not that they differed any in taste. They were just slightly more pastel coloured than the regular ones and while in looks they were somewhat.. cuter.. in determining the taste it really didn't help much. And unlike with the huge jars she usually had at home, this bag didn't have a guide towards what tasted like what and so it was a surprise any time she popped a jelly bean into her mouth.

Thankfully, they had been treating her rather friendly until now. She'd gotten a couple of popcorn, which she liked but not as much as the latte ones. She hadn't come across any of those yet. So as she picked out one of the lighter brown ones, she completely expected it to be latte, or at least coffee. But no. It was coke. And not the tasty drink kind. The fake candy coke on crack kind. But of course she couldn't exactly spit it out right there, so Hanna just chewed with a look of disgust and resentment on her face and when she finally managed to swallow the grossest thing ever, she shivered and looked for a nice and light pink jelly bean to chew the awful taste away with.

What to do? What to do? That had become the question going through his mind for the last few days. Each day dragged into the next with much less to do than the last. Paris was running out of things to obsess over. Painting, sculptures, poetry, readings, fight practice. He had done all of it and now he could not say what would be next on the agenda. Maybe he could try music. The Apollo kids had instruments, maybe he could learn how to play the piano in his free time, or maybe become an expert at volleyball.

So that's where he headed with a volleyball in hand, but he recalled that he had tried volleyball before, and it had not gone well. He tossed the ball over his shoulder and continued towards the court. He could take a rest there even if he had no intentions on playing. Sand was nice to lay in. He recalled his first time to a beach, he had tried to count grains of sand as he put them in his bucket. Maybe he could try that again.

He found someone else there already. A girl. He did not recognize her, and was fairly sure he did not have her data information documented. For this reason he approached the girl. As he got closer he saw she was eating jellybeans. He could care less about them as a candy, but they were fun to count and separate by color and taste. "Did that jellybean wrong you in some way?"

As son of Dionysus Charles felt obliged to know what was going round at camp half-blood. Well not exactly all the gossips but just how people felt and if they where okay. If there where any problems that they could fix and stuff like that. Something his father always did while living at one of the camping sides close to where they where digging up ruins and things like that. He had learned from him that comfortable people and people who where happy with the situation where more fun to spent time with.

That was the one of the main reasons that he was on a stroll around the camp. It was always fun to see the other campers training, running around the strawberry fields, Demeter kids helping them with the strawberry's and most of all Charlie always smiled when he saw some Satyr's running after some wood nymphs. Really that was hilarious because at the time a satyr got one they turned into a tree and the satyr bumped into it. Hopefully they weren't hurt to much.

By the time Charlie got to the volleyball fields he hadn't seen any thing suspicious and was really glad there wasn't any thing wrong going on today. He had enough drama with Ethan lately. Then he saw two people just standing there, nothing wrong with that but then Charlie saw the bag of Jelly beans the girl was holding. His jaw almost dropped and felt like a little kid again. He couldn't stop himself from walking over. "Sorry" he started. "I don't want to be rude, but can I please have one jelly bean from you haven't eaten them in years and they remind me of home" The British boy said with a big charming smile.

Hanna looked up when she heard someone talking to her. It was.. some kid from.. Hephaestus? Was that right? Either way, she never bothered to remember anyone's names and so he was just 'that one boy from Hephaestus' to her. If that was even his cabin. Honestly she barely knew who was in her cabin and their names seemed to be constantly slipping from her mind already. Well, maybe not Ethan and Jax.. And Crystal, although she wasn't too sure what to think of the red-haired girl. She didn't seem to like her much and so Hanna didn't bother trying to talk to her. Was that harsh of her? Possibly. She just didn't feel like making enemies when she could be neutral around people.

This guy though, seemed nice enough. "Its taste disappointed me." Hanna said in her usual flat tone before popping another jellybean in her mouth and holding out the bag for him. "You want?" she asked and looked around to see who else was talking to her, asking her if they could have a jellybean. Boy, was she popular today. "Yeah, sure.." she said and held out the bag to this other kid. He had red hair, like Crystal. Hanna thought red hair was pretty cool, though she'd never trade in her own dirty blonde for it. Not because she didn't like red, but simply because it would draw too much attention to her. She liked having an average hair colour.

And once again she couldn't remember his cabin. Nor his name. But eh, she didn't need to unless she befriended them. And everyone seemed to introduce themselves really fast here, including their cabin. "Be careful around the light brown ones. They can be misleading." Hanna said and looked at the bag again. There weren't that many brown ones as far as she could see, but they were there and they could be gross.

A taste disappointed her? That was strange. One of the reasons Paris generally did not eat jellybeans was because his obsessive nature made it so he organized and that could take several hours depending on how big the bag was. But to be not like a taste seemed odd. Shouldn't she have figured out all the jellybean flavors. They usually came with little guides. Even when you got similar colored beans, one could always tell. At least Paris could. It probably had to do with his natural affinity for separating things in his mind. For a time he had been obsessed with colors. There were so many shades of any one color, and for a time he could tell the difference between most of them. Most of the color names escaped him now, but he could still notice the subtle changes. He was fairly sure that even without a guide he could easily separate the bag.

Anyway, worrying about her apparent jellybean preferences was not very useful. He needed to gather some data. "I'm Paris, what cabin are you?" It was the question that circulated around camp very often with new people, but Paris did it for his data gathering. So at least he had purpose and wasn't just trying to chit chat randomly.

Paris shook his head. "It would take me too long to eat one," he said. Oh another person had come over. This guy he recognized. Of course Paris had all the cabin leaders documented. It still baffled him that he was the leader of his cabin. "Hello Charlie." Paris liked to greet people. It was the friendly thing to do, and maybe if he was friendly enough people would like him.

He too made the red hair connection in his head, and his heart compressed at the thought of Crystal. Why could he never seem to shake his feelings for the Hermes girl? This had lasted much longer than his usual crushes. This camp was throwing off his perceptions.

"What exactly is misleading about them," Paris asked absently. "Don't you have a guide. Depending on the shade it should be easy to tell." He did not want to sound pretentious so he quickly closed his mouth.
