For some strange reason Daniel felt like going to the stables that day. Well he had never really being there before and by that he meant that he had never spent some quality time there. Thing was, Daniel was not one to stay calm and just stare at horses while they eat or sleep or drink water, it might end up boring him and he didn't do boring. The fifteen year old had declared war against boredom ever since he was born so he had always being reluctant about going there. But now he wanted to go and see what was going on there...or how the horses behaved. The boy didn't ever stop in the arena or the lake to see the panorama or rest a little bit. No, he went straight to the stables. The day was nice, at least he had noticed that in his way towards the place but he had all day to enjoy it for now, he needed to go there and nothing took his mind off it. Eventually he reached the place and the smell was the first thing that got to him. It smelled like...horses of course, and other things related to horses that he wasn't about to talk or think about. Oh well he should have known that. So he went inside and stopped on his tracks as he did so when he saw the large wings on the horses. "Whoa," he exclaimed. Pegasi! How could he have forgotten He was no longer in the real world and hand't being for a long time now so he couldn't quite figure out why he hadn't being able to remember that there were pegasi at camp. "That is seriously cool," Daniel whispered as he slowly walked towards one of the winged horses. He wondered if they were like real horses or if they talked or stuff? Really, it seemed silly but who knew! He wanted to touch though, at least a little bit. So he extended out his hand and touched the horse's mane. Oh it felt like a real horse's mane! That was nice. Surprisingly, it wasn't boring but maybe that was due to the fact that he was quite surprised to see wings coming out of the horse's back. Large wings similar to that of an eagle's. It was quite shocking really, but really cool. He continued stroking the horse's mane, wondering if Pixie had ever being to that place and how she would react. And thinking of which, man, it had being quite some since he last talked to her. And by quite some time, in Daniel's friendship with Pixie's terms, meant a lot less time than he made it seem.

Just for the record, had Pixie known sooner about the Pegasi on campus she would have been there so much sooner. She did love horses, that was undeniable. Animals in general she loved, of course, but she simply hadn't really thought about the stables until today when she had been sorting through her pillows and found the unicorn one. The same one that also happened to remind her of Danny, mainly because it was the pillow she had whacked him with a few weeks ago. However, she figured that maybe she would catch him later. After capture the flag she hadn't really gotten a chance to see him, everything had been so chaotic. Which didn't make her the best friend ever, because she should have checked up on him anyway... And Jonas. and all of her friends really. Either way she was going to the stables now, where there would be horses with wings, so of course she was wearing her unicorn hat for the event. It just seemed to fit the whole Pegasi theme of the day. Anyway, she really liked the hat in general too. And she hadn't worn it since that time when she just met (and probably scared) Jonas a while ago. She really missed that hat. Skipping happily to the stables she passed by the places she had rather already been at. But she was taking her time, since there really were enough hours in the day to just be doing this. Just going to the stables for a while really couldn't take up that much time. When she arrived at the stables she was pleased to see that she wouldn't be alone. And even happier to see that the person there was Danny. She hadn't seen him since Capture the flag had started, that had been like, a whole day... Which, yes, it was a long time for Pixie. "Danny!!" she piped happily, not tackling him like she usually did, but there would never be a time when she would greet her best friend and he wouldn't get a hug. She her arms hooked around his neck and then released soon after. "I haven't seen you since Capture The Flag! We won! Isn't it great! On other news, I didn't get to see you afterwards. Are you okay? You didn't hurt yourself or anything Your fine, right?" she asked quickly, which was rather her usual voice pace and scanned him up and down, tilting his head by a finger under his chin at different angles. He seemed fine, but you never knew...

The boy had being stroking the horses...or pegasi in fact, it was hard to get used to, for a lot more time than he had expected. He was just so lost in thought. Useless thoughts in fact but he liked thinking that they mattered. Well, they mattered to him, if other people didn't think so, Daniel didn't care much. Eventually though, his thoughts were diverted when he heard a familiar excited voice call his name. "Pixie!" He called happily as he walked towards her but before he even reached her, she already had her arms wrapped around his neck. Yeah, he already saw that coming. He knew Pixie was quite a big fan of hugs. He liked hugs or at least had learned to like them since his best friend happened to absolutely love them. So of course, the fifteen year old boy hugged her back and wrapped his arms around her as well.
And of course, the usual Pixie chatter came around once again. He had to admit that he was really happy to hear it since he had being wondering if she was okay. Capture the flag was brutal, for real, but he was glad that she didn't get to fight the strongest fighters or at least so he thought. It wasn't like he didn't think she was capable, because he did think she was, he just didn't want her to get hurt. "Yes, I'm fine Pixie, completely fine," he said as she tilted his head, "a bit bruised but nothing worse." Bruises that were hurting him like hell actually, but he was sure that they were going to go away soon and he wasn't about to tell that to Pixie. Of course not. "How about you are you okay? Did you get hurt? Do I have to get rid of someone?" he asked her.
It was weird really, because he never was one to hug people and show his emotions, but he felt like hugging Pixie again. "Your victory prize!" he exclaimed all of a sudden as he wrapped his arms around her and lifted her up her feet. Soon after he let her go though. It had being fun really. "So we won and a hug was your prize, a hug from the great Daniel McAllen!" he joked. Yeah, he really missed joking with her. "What do I get? You have to get me something really nice dude, by the way nice hat" he told her as he nudged her a bit. Really, the hat was nice, very Pixie. She always surprised him with the things she had. Like her pillows and hats for instance.

Hugs were like magic. They made people happy, or they were supposed to at least. Not to mention they said things. Hugs were invented to let people know you cared about them, without actually having to say anything. Hugs. Were freaking amazing I'm every possible way. And they helped people, sometimes a hug was all you needed to make you feel better. And yes, Capture the Flag had been fun actually, but so much more horrible then it had been fun. She had been pretty much fine throughout the game. But she had to throw things at people and pin girls that scared her half to death to trees by their sleeves. Things that she had never wanted to have to do. Capture the Flag had just turned into a game that she never wanted to have to play again. "Bruises? Daniel McAllen! You are forbidden from getting hurt. Even if it's just a few bruises." She said, grabbing at his hand and pulling up his sleeve. Rather figuring she didn't need permission for this, because she had somewhat of a V.I.P pass when it came to Danny. One that she used quite often. She ran a hand through her hair quickly before pulling up his other sleeve. "Gods Danny. Do these not hurt?" She asked with a look of something that could have been panic, or worry, or, most likely both.
"They're pretty bad bruises Daniel." she said, rather holding his wrists loosely in one of her hands out in front of him. "Me? Oh I'm fine. Pepper threw a shield at me and knocked me out of a tree with a spear. Just a few bruises and scratches. No big deal." She said with a slight shrug. She was up quite a bit, but Pixie bruised easily. Some of them hurt, most of them didn't. And she didn't care right now. Steadily releasing his wrists after a bit, she still had a look of worry and concern. But it momentarily went away while he lifted her up. She laughed, and was still smiling when he set her down. "No better prize then a hug." She said happily. "Did you know that hugging is a good medicine? It transfers energy and gives the person hugged an emotional lift. You need four hugs a day for survival, eight for maintenance and twelve for growth. Scientists say that hugging is a form of communication, because it can say things you don't have the words for. And the best thing about a hug? You usually can't give one without getting one back." She rambled on, not really realizing that she was totally failing at working on her speech speed.
"Hmm. Prize.... Stop by my bed later. You like chocolate, right? Gummy bears?" She asked. Psh. Everyone likes Gummy bears and chocolate. "I have way too much candy hidden in my pillows for me and my sleep's sake anyway. It'd probably be safer if you take some of that.... None of the white chocolate though. That's my favorite." She said with a bright nod. For a minute she went cross eyed looking up at her hat. "Why thank you! I haven't worn it for a while. But I really like it, it's probably one of my favorites. And I felt it suited the event too." She said with a nod. Trying quite hard to not look down at his arms. Which was hard, because she didn't want to have the thought that Danny could be in pain. "Are you okay Danny?"

Daniel didn't even know when Pixie lift up his sleeves. "No...hey...wait," he started but it was too late, she had already lifted the sleeve.Well, she was sort of allowed to, she was his best friend, she had a right to know the truth. He had never meant to lie to her in the first place. It hadn't being a complete lie, he just omitted the part where he had terrible bruises and they did hurt like hell. But he just didn't want to worry her or anything, it wasn't like he had some terrible injuries or couldn't move an arm or leg, not they were just bruises. Nothing else. And she lifted up his other sleeve, this time he didn't say anything though, but there was that look on her face that he hadn't want to see before. Darn it, that was bad. So the boy let his sleeves fall again and fixed his blue gaze on Pixie. "No, they don't, at least not that much, it's nothing, I told you," he told her with a smile. "They'll go away in a week or so anyways," Daniel said to her, his tone calm and easy, and his smile bigger. He just wanted Pixie to stop worrying.
"Nah, not really, they're big but not really that bad," they actually were, but whatever, that was going to stay inside his head. Besides, it had being all worth it, they won for Zeus' sake! His easy smiley expression then changed into an expression of worry and surprise as his blue eyes popper open. The way she said it...it was so..so calm and easy as if it was nothing! In that moment he really wondered if his friend was sane or something. "Pixie, what did you just said?" he said with a grave tone. "How can you just say it like that?! Are you okay? Are you hurt? Like...dude, Pixie what on earth?" he asked. At least hugging her made him feel better and it seemed as if she was okay as well. But this girl really needed to stop doing that, he almost died. "Dude, you've done your homework, congrats," Daniel joked, "so that's all real? Scientifically proven? Well hugs do make us feel better right?"
Oh please Daniel loved chocolate and gummy bears. Yeah, he was fifteen but who cared really? His mind was that of a twelve year old so it didn't matter much. "Sounds cool," he said, turning his eyes back to the winged horses. "You really shouldn't have told me that, one night you're not going to find all that stuff under your pillow," the fifteen year old joked. He was not capable of doing that, especially not to her. And there she went again. See? That was why he didn't want to tell her. He knew she was not going to drop it that easily. "Yes, Pixie, I'm okay," Daniel said to her, as he extended out his hand and softly patted her head. "You? I'm not the one who was almost hit by Pepper's shield, you sure you are okay?" he asked her.

Pixie was going to worry. She, as his best friend had the absolute right to worry about him. And maybe for someone else, someone she wasn't so close to she could have managed to brush it off as nothing. But she knew Danny, probably far too well for his own good. For a split second she had an annoyed look on her face, and it wasn't because of Danny. It was because of his stubbornness and refusal to tell her the truth. She could (probably) take it. There was no doubt she hated to even have to think that he something could be hurting him, but if it was she still needed to know.
"But..... they look painful." She insisted rather sadly. And for the record, Pixserie Jameson was anything but sane. She looked up at him, wearing her same worried expression. "Well, the shield didn't actually hit me. And the spear didn't cut me or anything, just, I was sitting on a branch and it knocked me off." She said with a tilted head. "Considering I was dealing with Pepper, I'm happy to still be in one piece. And I say it like that because it's no big deal." She said, semi-grinning.
"Scientifically proven." She confirmed with a nod and laughed a bit. "That's what hugs are made for." She said, smiling. Of course hugs made you feel better. They were hugs. Pixie glanced over at the Pegasus and stepped closer to it, running a steady hand through it's mane. She laughed, fully honestly she really shouldn't be allowed to eat sugar after seven o'clock or something. Maybe she would have gotten sleep then, and she happily would have shared her candy with Danny. She went on again for good intentions, because she wanted to know if he was really okay. She furrowed her eyebrows a bit. "Danny. One, love you, but you absolutely fail at realizing how much I know you. So, how 'bout we make a deal? I'll tell you if I'm really okay as soon as you tell me. No lies this time, yeah?" She cooed.

Pixie should have known they were both children of Athena, they were strong, there was no need for her to worry at all. They were made for war, he was made for war, for fighting and winning. And of course, victory wasn't an easy path at all, sometimes it was painful just like in capture the flag. He had to fight people he thought were nice and other people that he didn't even know. The fifteen year old knew how awkward that was, how not a very nice first meeting that was, but he had to endure it all in order to win. Yes, it did hurt, but it was all worth, he liked it if the reward was awesome, just as winning capture the flag. He absolutely adored Pixie's loving nature, she always meant the best but he just didn't want her to worry, at all.
They didn't only look painful, they were painful. "Pixserie Gabrielle Jameson, it's nothing, stop worrying or you're going to get wrinkles on your pretty little forehead really soon," he said to her jokingly as he softly tapped her forehead. All data and information thanks to his overly shallow sister. Now that was the thing, it was nice to feel taken cared off and to have someone worrying about him, it made him feel as if he was home, with family which was technically true since Pixie was his sister. But he didn't know how to make her stop worrying. It was nice and all, lovely, but he didn't want her to be concerned and everything.
But he also had a reason to be concerned and worried! And if she was so pushy, he was going to be pushy as well. Yes, he got hit by several blows of some of the other team's swords and falling over the trap wasn't nice either, but nothing could ever compare to being victim of Pepper's fury. Nothing. Now that was something to worry about and what Pixie was telling him was not making it less. "Well true, but you fell off the branch, you could have being really hurt Pixie. How do you know you're not hurt, have you gone to the infirmary? Who know what that might have caused," he said, his tone just as worried as hers.
So hugs were good and made people feel better, and the best part of it all was that it was scientifically proven. The boy laughed when she said, running one hand through his hair and the other through the pegasi mane. His eyes were momentarily fixed on the winged horse before they turned back to Pixie, who once again, insisted on the same question. But it was a really good deal because he really wanted to know if she was okay or Pepper had hurt her. He hesitated for a while, turning to look at the pegasi for a second before looking at her again. "Right, that sounds fair enough," he said, "so no lies, if you're leg is falling apart you have to tell me, I can take it," Daniel joked. Not funny, really, the idea worried him. "It does hurt, lots, from time to time," more like always but anyways, "I fell on a trap, don't even know how, plus the sword fights with Cato and Charles, pretty complicated, and I have bruises on my chest, and my back as well, painful but they'll go away trust me, now you go," he said to her and had said everything a lot more rapidly than he usually spoke.
