Ethan sighed in relief when he finally reached the infirmary. Pepper wasn't heavy at all, but carrying her for some amount of time was getting heavy after all. He pushed the infirmary door open with his shoulders, since his hands were occupied carrying Pepper. She hadn't woken up yet, that worried him slightly. Had her fall really been that bad? As expected, the infirmary was empty. No one ever worked hard enough here to get hurt. With worked Ethan meant trained of course, or doing stuff that wasn't allowed. That always worked too. There hadn't been any monsters either. So the biggest and most dangerous thing here in the camp was the lava climbing wall.
Ethan walked in and softly put Pepper on the nearest bed he could find. He got a cloth and put some water on it. He took his shirt off her head and put it near her feet, changing it with the cloth. He grabbed a chair and sat down next to her. Sure, he had only met this girl today. But he had a protective an concerned personality, which meant that he wasn't going anywhere unless he was absolutely sure that she was going to be alright.
As time passed, Ethan was getting a little sleepy from waiting. He was also pretty cold without a shirt, not that he cared about that of course. He felt his eyes getting heavier as he kept sitting in that chair and his neck hurt somewhat from sitting in the same position. Sleepy he called her name again, but nothing happened. He stood up and moved the chair a little closer to the bed. He put his arms on the bed and rested his head there for a while. Sure she wouldn't mind, he wasn't trying anything right? He wouldn't just do that.
His plan was just to stay there, relax a little until she woke up. Instead his head decided to make him fall asleep. It was his own fault for snooping around the camp in the middle of the night. But it was so much fun!

Everything had disappeared when Pepper had blacked out and it was taking awhile to regain her senses. Yes, she had been drifting in and out of consciousness for awhile. However, every single moment she managed to feel came in short clips, which made it all simply appear as a dream to her. Maybe she really was dreaming? Although soon enough, even though her eyes were still clamped shut, the demigod could feel the presence of another nearby. Her mind sluggish and muddled, she struggled to remember what exactly happened. Something had hit her...head, wasn’t it? Yes! That was right, the boulder. As the memory returned, so did the pain.
Mentally, she groaned and her whole body protested against any movement whatsoever. There was a major pounding pulsing through her head, growing even more so painful and loud. Just trying to move it felt impossible. Finally, when she had gathered enough strength, Pepper pried her eyes open to find an unfamiliar roof above her. Twisting her neck just enough to look beside her, the teenager was honestly quite startled to find that Ethan kid, beside her, and apparently sleeping. Even if the pain was impossible to ignore, something else took over her mind first. Cursing mentally, Pepper became fully aware of her own loss. She lost the climbing wall race! How on earth had that happened?
But the fact that she was sore quickly returned and she let out a low groan and a not-so-nice string of words under her breath. “I...lost...” she grumbled. “How did that...ow...” she had rolled her head to the side on where she had been hit, which was still extremely tender and...bandaged? Confused, Pepper attempted to sit up, but slumped back down when her head began spinning rapidly. Yes, she had indeed been hit by a blasted gigantic rock. No, she wasn’t happy at all. “Ethan...what happened? How...the hell did I get here...? And...where on earth is your shirt?” Since she was still mostly disoriented, her observational skills weren’t exactly top-notch at the moment.

Ethan was falling deeper and deeper in a sleep, until he heard a small voice coming from the girl on the bed. Oh right, Pepper! He jumped up, running a quick hand through his hair and trying to look a little less sleepy. Not that he cared how he looked. He wasn't really paying attention to his looks anyways. It wasn't useful in the competitions, good looks. Unless if it was a beauty competition of course, which he would NEVER enter willingly, or forced. He knew the Mr. Demigod competition was obligated for every guy in the camp, but he had just refused to enter. He didn't show up either. It would have been horrible. Alright, he could sing a little. But that was it. No beauty, no further talents.. nothing.
He looked as Pepper seemed to be in pain. And then he was shot with a bunch of questions. Was he supposed to answer them all? "You got hit by a loose boulder at the lava climbing wall." Good, that was question number one. "I took you to the infirmary, 'cause you couldn't walk yourself." See, it was not that hard. And then the third question about his shirt. He looked down, oh yeah. Shirtless. He pointed at her head. "Your head. It was bleeding. I needed something to stop it from bleeding, my shirt is all I could think of." he pointed at the bloody rag thing at the end of her bed. "It's alright, I have loads of shirts," he lied. He had three to be correct. Well, he brought three to the camp. He had more at home of course... which wasn't really a home anymore. He mentally shrugged. Doesn't matter, he had adventure now!
"Are you alright?" he asked, which was a stupid question of course. Pepper was in the infirmary. She wouldn't be here if everything was alright. Yet he felt like he had to ask it. That was some fall she had made. Was it all because he had won the competition? He liked winning, but he didn't want people to get hurt because of it. He looked a little concerned, but then straightened his face out. He didn't even know her, why should he be concerned. Besides, she was in the infirmary. People could help her here. Or things... he had no idea who ran the infirmary.

No, Pepper didn’t notice the fact Ethan had a sleepy look about him. But after such a blow to the head, it was a wonder she was able to process anything at all. The last time something had knocked her out... Well, at the moment, she couldn’t honestly quite remember, but it had been awhile ago, to say the least. Rubbing her eyes a little then pressing her palms to her cheeks, the redhead tried clearing her mind and waking herself up a bit more. Everything was a little bleary in her vision and the ache of her head wasn’t even remotely subsiding. It took a large chunk of her concentration to focus of what exactly Ethan was saying.
“Right...boulder. I remember that one...I think...” she mumbled to herself. Was it a giant rock? Or did she just hit her head on the side of the wall? No, it had to be a boulder, she had to believe Ethan. Whatever occurred, he definitely saw it. How horribly embarrassing... Wait, she couldn’t walk? He carried her then? Her hazel eyes immediately widened, completely taken aback. No way. She wasn’t the type of girl who neither wanted nor needed that type of assistance. In her thoughts, she cursed her small, thin frame that made her light enough for such things to happen. Why couldn’t he have just left her at the climbing wall and bandaged her there? Ugh...she had been carried by a boy. No one better have had seen that.
“Oh...okay,” murmured the teen, eyeing the bloodied fabric and feeling her stomach tighten with revulsion. Good thing she has passed out then. There was no way she wanted to humiliate herself further by vomiting. It most likely would have happened had she been awake before her head had been bandaged. Her and blood didn’t exactly go so well together. But now, the bleeding seemed to have ceased, unfortunately not the pain. “Alright?” she repeated the word, wondering if that was any way to describe her condition. There was no way she was going to appear weak and defenceless in front of this boy, so she nodded abruptly. “Yeah, I’m perfectly fine,” Pepper lied rapidly, exerting as much energy as needed in order to sit on the edge of the bed. It hurt, but she refused to show it.
Ignoring her spinning head, she sat with her feet dangling off the edge. Now...all she had to do was manage to stand without toppling over. Her thoughts continued shouting she was strong. A simple fall couldn’t affect her too badly! But as she made a move to rise to her feet, she didn’t realize how wrong she was with that theory.
