Crystal Hale - February 25, 2012 11:02 AM (GMT)
For some reason, Crystal was feeling rather athletic today. She wasn't usually a big fan of sports, but since she had come to camp, that had changed slightly. She still wasn't what you would call a jock, but she was a lot more active than she had been. She was fast, she liked to train in the arena, she swam and she climbed trees. She hadn't played a game of Volleyball yet, though. She had to try that out of course.

When she woke up that morning, she had put on some appropriate fashion for playing some Volleyball. Unfortunately, she didn't have someone to play with yet, but she was sure she would soon find someone, or a group of people, to play with. Maybe there were even already some people out on the field. That would be good.

She had made her way to the volleyball court, to find it completely empty. Well, that sucked. She would just train a few smashes then, before competing with someone. Out of some shed she had gotten herself a volleyball. It had been dark inside and she hadn't really been able to see all that much. She had just randomly grabbed one and now highly regretted doing so, because the ball turned out to be bright pink. If she hadn't sincerely doubted whether any of the Aphrodite daughters actually did sports, she would have guessed that the volleyball was theirs.

With the ball tucked under her arm, Crystal walked back out onto the field. How lame was she, playing Volleyball on her own? She didn't really care though. It was a good way for her to practice her moves. The last time she had played volleyball had been ages ago, at High School. She recalled being quite good at it, even though she hadn't really put an effort into it. She always liked that; being good at something without trying. She just had to see if she was still good at it.

The ball went up flying into the air and Crystal jumped up, slamming her hand against the ball, smashing it onto the field on the other side of the net.

Arielle Clarkson - February 25, 2012 07:25 PM (GMT)
Arielle was not one to be called athletic or very much into sports, but the blonde girl liked keeping in shape, so of course, if she had to play sports and do dirty things, she would. Besides, for a ballet dancer like her, keeping her weight and shape was vital. So the girl woke up early in the morning, when the sun was still rising and went out to run for a bit. Once she was dressed appropriately and had her music on, she started jogging through the camp.

She started with a small jog. It felt so good to stretch her muscles and sweat a bit! Wait. Ew sweat, she was going to get all sweaty! Oh whatever, at least she was exercising! The jog felt good, and after a while she started running a bit faster. Right. Running, she liked running but she was afraid she would stumble and fall since it was so early in the morning. Oh dear, she would hate it if that happened! More than hate it, she would get so pissed off that she would stop running and go punch a wall or simply rip something apart. Yepp, and Zeus forbid someone from getting in her way! So the girl really hoped to have a nice running session

Eventually, she started running faster until she was running on full speed. Arielle could feel the wind blowing against her face, running through her hair and making her feel a slight but comfortable tingle in her skin.

After a while of running, she grew tired. Well, she hadn't had the opportunity to do so ever since she came to camp. She had been trying to getting used to everything, settling in her cabin, meeting new people. Great, now she was out of shape. Darn it. Now she was out of shape. With a frown on her face, she turned to look at her surroundings and was surprised to see a girl playing volleyball...alone. Ooh, great! Volleyball! If there was any sport in which she was good at, it was volleyball. So the girl slowly walked towards the volleyball court and reached for the ball that the girl had just hit.

"Nice hit," she said quietly, gasping for breath as she bounced the ball a few times.
"Can I play with you?" she asked the red haired girl as she took off her hoodie

A slight grin crept onto Crystal's face as she saw the ball hit the field on the other side of the net. So, she still had it, huh? That was very good to know. It pleased her to be good at something. She wasn't really into sports, but winning was something she liked a lot. Unfortunately, she didn't have someone to compete against yet, and if she wanted to win, or at least play a good match, she did sort of need that.

Luckily, a candidate offered herself quickly enough. It was a girl Crystal had seen walking around the camp. During mass she had seen her sitting at the Ares table. Hmm. Ares kids were quite good at playing games, sports, winning. This girl would make for some nice competition. At least, that's what Crystal hoped for.

"Yeah, sure," answered Crystal. One against one was still slightly boring, but it was better than one against none. And then again, it was questionable whether Crystal really worked all that well in a team, so it was probably for the best that she was playing on her own right now. "Let's see what you've got."

Crystal placed her hands on her hips and kept her eyes on the girl, watching her every move. She was interested in seeing how this would work out. She would hate to lose. Hmm. If other people joined their game, she might just have a bigger chance of beating this blonde. She grinned and bend over, putting her hands on her upper legs. "Come on, girl. Let's play."

Arielle Clarkson - March 7, 2012 07:37 PM (GMT)
"Great, thanks," she said, as she forced out a smile. Arielle was not a fan of sports of course, nor did she considered herself to play them, but whenever she happened to touch a ball, she was good at any sports she played and volleyball happened to be the one in which she least sucked. So she was rather pleased that the other girl had agreed to play with her. The Ares girl really wasn't there for the socializing part, Arielle had never being good at socializing, nor did she care or like it much, so she decided to just stick to play for the time being. She didn't need to talk now, did she? No she didn't. Just throw the ball, throw it back and prevent it from touching the ground. Nice game.

Now what the red haired girl said sounded like a challenge and well, if someone challenged Arielle Clarkson, she was going to do her biggest effort to knock them down and make them lose in the most painful way, although that didn't really apply for volleyball at all. But still, the blonde was going to do everything she could to win. So when the other girl told her to start playing, that's exactly what she did. Arielle threw the ball up, while it was coming down, she crouched and jumped before hitting it with her hand as strong as she could. She watched the ball speed up towards the other side of the net and a wry smile appeared in her face.

Even though she wasn't fond of talking, she considered that it was rather rude not to introduce herself. "I'm Arielle," the fifteen year old said to the other girl, "daughter of Ares," and that was the most important part of her introductory speech, the fact that she was a daughter of Ares and was incredibly proud to be one.

Even if she wouldn't show it, Crystal was rather happy to be playing against someone. As much as she disliked other people, playing volleyball on your own really was rather dull. The girl in front of her didn't exactly look like a very worthy competitor, but at least it was better then nothing, right? And she had offered to play, so she must like playing volleyball. Perhaps she was better at it than Crystal gave her credit for.

In any case, the girl didn't seem to be much of a talker. She took up the ball and then immediately launched it across the net. Only after doing so did she introduce herself as Arielle, a daughter of Ares. Ah. So she did turn out a worthier player than Crystal had initially thought. Well, she wasn't complaining. Ares kids were good at sports, usually, and they were always keen on winning. Just like Crystal was. That would make for a nice game.

She thrust her hands up in the air, blocking Arielle's initial shot, and slammed it back over the net, before moving a bit further back again, to get a better view of the game. "Crystal," she meanwhile introduced herself, feeling obliged to do so now that Arielle had done so as well. "Daughter of Hermes." Oh yes, she had grown to be rather proud of that. She knew her dad was the God of the thieves and that she and her siblings liked nicking and ocassionally cheated on whatever it was they could cheat on, she was still proud of her family, proud of her inheritance.

Arielle Clarkson - March 15, 2012 06:03 PM (GMT)
The girl waited for the ball, crouching a bit so that when it reached her, she could hit it. It eventually did cross the net and Arielle was ready. The blonde girl walked forward a little bit, doing it as fast as she could and when the ball was coming down, she put her hands together, crouched a bit and sent the ball flying towards the other girl. Great. She did it! She actually did it. For a slight moment Arielle thought that she wasn't going to make it, that maybe the other girl was far better than she was. But with that little movement there, she started thinking differently. Please, she was a daughter of Ares, of course she was going to make it. Pfft, it had been silly of her to think otherwise. Ego? Much. Yes, that happened when she was proud of something she did.

So the girl's name was Crystal, daughter of Hermes. Hermes...god of the travelers and thieves. Interesting, so she was Jax's sister. Arielle wasn't a fan of that particular god . In fact, she was always careful around the Hermes kids because she feared that she was going to lose everything without even noticing. He was the god of thieves after-all right? And she could not know if they were thieves or not. She liked thinking that they weren't, well, Jax wasn't so maybe they were all really nice and...didn't go around stealing things and stuff. So she decided to just believe and assume that the fact that their father was the god of thieves, had nothing to do with them.

"Crystal..." she paused as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, "nice meeting you," Arielle said although mostly out of politeness than sincere happiness and pleasure to have met the red haired girl. "How long have you been here?" the Ares girl asked. For some reason it always interested her to know how long the others have been here which in her very own language translated to how long they have been suffering the torture of being secluded from the outside world.
