Lunatic Solaris, A Blaze Adventure set before CS:Season 2

This is my first full length Sonic fic, so excuse my noviceness. I'll do this as a series of episodes and hopefully it won't come off as a Sonic Adventure1/2 rip off. This takes place after Sonic Rush and into the beginnings of Into the Arms of Ragnarok.

Episode 1: The Frozen Tornado

Blaze the Cat lies sleeping in the shrine of the Sol Emeralds. Three months have passed since her adventure with Cream the Rabbit and Sonic the Hedgehog. Blaze has learned to harness the power of the Sol Emeralds, giving her already impressive ability to protect them a boost like no other. Now that Super Blaze has awakened, the emeralds have had no takers over the last three months. Even Doctor Eggman Nega seems to have disappeared into the woodwork after his last failure to use the emeralds with Doctor Eggman to fuse their universes and create the ultimate “Eggmanland”.

The sun shines brightly overhead as birds sing and a gentle breeze blows across the countryside, and past the shrine of the Sol Emeralds. Blaze stirs and sits up, rubbing her eyes and yawning.

“I must have fallen asleep…” she mutters to herself as she looks around, making sure the seven Sol Emeralds are in place. She smiles and nods finding them untouched and stretches, leaning against a statue she had been sleeping by. Everything is so peaceful, so calm and relaxed. It’s almost hard to believe that just three months ago she made her first friends and discovered the true power of the Sol Emeralds. Blaze smiles thinking about Sonic and Cream. Of all the friends she had made, they were definitely the closest.

“Eggman Nega must have recovered by now…I wouldn’t put it past him to try to take the Sol Emeralds again.” She muses to herself, really having nothing else to do as peaceful as things have been. Blaze stands up and begins walking around the shrine, counting the tiles and thinking about her far away friends. She feels a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “Although…if Eggman Nega did try to take them I could harness their power again. I felt so incredible as Super Blaze…” The power and exhilaration she had felt in her Super form had been a release like no other. It had felt like after giving her life to protect the Sol Emeralds, it had finally paid off. The power and energy from her Super form was a brief burst of freedom and excitement.

“I wish something would happen…so I could have an excuse to use it again.” She says to herself, heading back to the front of the shrine. She stops in her tracks, noticing a figure waltzing into the shrine with a grin on his face like he doesn’t have a care in the world.

He is about three feet, five inches tall which makes him four inches taller than she is. He is a cat, much like she is, with light blue fur. He has long hair that greatly resembles Sonic’s hairstyle, though it is less spiky, has more tufts and is softer. On his cheeks are tufts of fur like Blaze’s and behind him is a long, thin tail ending in a dark blue tuft of fur. He is wearing a black trench coat, coming down to his ankles and white pants with black boots and black gloves. He grins at Blaze.

“Hey Kitty Cat, I just need to borrow these Sol Emeralds and I’ll be on my way.” Blaze steps in front of him, surprising him as she holds up her hands, flames gathered in front of them.

“You can’t just come in here and take the Sol Emeralds. I won’t let you.” The cat grabs her wrists and forces her hands down, surprising Blaze. He grins at her and winks, his green eyes reflecting the light coming in from one of the windows.

“C’mon Kitten, let’s not make this harder than it has to be. You don’t wanna get burned so don’t mess with MPH!” Before he can continue he is sent flying through the air, landing with a loud crash on his back. He groans and sits up, rubbing his head. He feels his jacket, smirking at Blaze as he climbs to his feet and tightens his gloves. “Okay so that’s how you want to play, I can dig it,” Blaze lowers her hands and readies herself for a fight. The cat laughs and lifts his hand as arctic wind builds up around it. Blaze’s eyes widen as a shockwave of icicles fires out at her.

Blaze jumps out of the way and lands a short distance away, her eyes locked on the mysterious blue cat.

“Who are you? Why do you want the Sol Emeralds?” She asks, fire building up around her as she narrows her eyes. The cat winks and arctic wind begins flaring up around him.

“My name is Frost the Cat, otherwise known as the Frozen Tornado!” He jumps into the air and comes crashing down at her in a ball shape, barely missing her. Blaze recognizes this as one of Sonic’s attacks and is confused about how this Frost character has it. Frost then begins spinning quickly on the ground, still in a ball shape, and fires himself at her, leaving a small ice trail behind him. He jumps up and is nailed in the face by a kick from Blaze. Frost hits the ground and spins around managing to jump to his feet and avoid a fireball from Blaze.

“Dang, come on Hotcakes you need to lighten up. I just want to borrow the emeralds for a little bit,” Blaze growls and floats slightly off the ground with fire beneath her feet. She then shoots at him, spinning like a top and encased in fire. Frost jumps out of the way and rolls into a ball in the sky. He then shoots down at her, which Blaze turns to block. She catches him and gives a small grunt as she falls onto her back barely able to keep her arms extended as he pushes against her. Fire builds up between the two and soon Frost is blasted away. Frost spirals through the air and crashes into the ground, grunting in pain.

“Stop calling me names!” shouts Blaze, standing up and panting while she growls under her breath. Frost gets up and winces, but manages to smile at her.

“Sorry Fire Cat, but I don’t know your name so what else can I call you? Violet Locks?” He says with a grin. Blaze clenches her fists as fire builds up around her yet again. She floats into the air and thrusts her hands out. A series of fiery pillars shoot out at Frost, who jumps back and rolls into a ball on the ground. He then begins spinning and speeding up, shooting out of the way of the pillars. He gets up and grins at Blaze, who falls back to the ground and lands on her feet.

“My name is Blaze! You aren’t getting the Sol Emeralds!” She says with another glare. Frost’s only retort is to float up into the air with a grin. Blaze watches him in shock, watching him slam his fists together as an arctic wind shoots up around him. Frost lowers his arms and grins.

“Get ready! Take this!” Frost snaps his fingers and a series of ice pillars shoot from the ground, an almost exact replica of Blaze’s previous attack. The fiery cat dodges it with some difficulty. As a pillar is about to stab her she blasts through it with her Burst Boost, spinning and launching a fireball at Frost, who dodges and fires a shockwave of icicles at her. Blaze avoids this and the two stand across from each other panting.

“You’re…tougher than I expected,” Blaze mutters, though Frost picks up on it and grins, poking himself in the chest with his thumb.

“You got that right Hotcakes, I admit you’re cuter than I expected,” Blaze blinks and growls, though her cheeks do redden slightly. Blaze glances around at the Sol Emeralds then holds her hand up and slowly they lift into the air and begin floating around her. Frost’s eyes widen, his mouth dropping open slightly. He jumps back and a giant blue aura erupts around him. Before Blaze can activate the Sol Emeralds and become Super Blaze, a fist slams into her stomach, sending her flying. She gets up cringing in pain and looks up to see Frost in the center of the Sol Emeralds, with a smile on his face.

“Finally now I can,” before he finishes, he notices Blaze encased in a fiery aura. His blue aura encases him again and in a flash the two slam into each other, their hands locked in a contest of strength. As they try to overpower each other the Sol Emeralds begin glowing brightly, flooding them with even more power. A bright light begins building up in the shrine, until a massive beam of light slams down on it, smashing through the center. Blaze and Frost are sent flying away from each other. They notice a robot floating down into the shrine, the Sol Emeralds flying up to it and orbiting it slowly.

“No! The Sol Emeralds!” Frost says, reaching out for them. Blaze narrows her eyes, a chill running down her spine.

“Eggman Nega!” A soft laugh echoes from the robot. The robot is humanoid in shape with a red body, thin black arms, legs, and feet, big white hands and a dome shaped head with a small visor across the center.

“Hahaha hello Blaze. I see you’ve made a new friend. I understand he seeks the Sol Emeralds, much like I did in the past,” comes Dr. Eggman Nega’s voice from the robot’s intercom. Blaze begins powering up, waves upon waves of fire exploding around her. Across from her Frost begins powering up as well, though it is arctic winds and icicles flaring up around him.

“Give me the Sol Emeralds! I need them to,” begins Frost angrily. However, he is cut off by Blaze, who glares at him then shoots several fireballs at the robot. A green bubble shield appears around the robot.

“Don’t worry, I don’t need your Sol Emeralds, I’m only taking them for safe keeping,” says Eggman Nega’s voice. Blaze fires a giant fireball at it, smashing through the shield and hitting the robot. There is a bright shining white light and a massive explosion that follows, sending the Sol Emeralds scattering across the world.

“No! I just got those back!” Blaze shouts. Frost lowers his aura and sighs, rubbing his forehead.

“Wonderful, this worked out even better than I had planned. Hahahaha thank you Blaze, my work will be much easier now,” taunts Eggman Nega.

“Dammit now I have to track down those stupid things! Argh, it should have been easy too,” as Eggman Nega laughs and his robot leaves, Blaze turns to Frost with a glare.

“This is your fault; if you hadn’t tried to steal the Sol Emeralds I could have prevented Eggman Nega from scattering them."

“Look I need them as much as you do, so smell you later Fire Lion, I’ve got some emeralds to collect!” Frost grins and takes off, leaving Blaze alone in the shrine. Blaze clenches her fist and looks up at the hole in the ceiling of the shrine.

“What is he up to now? That fireball shouldn’t have had that reaction, it’s almost like he wanted them scattered…what are you planning now Eggman Nega?” Blaze leaves the shrine and heads out on a new adventure to recover the Sol Emeralds and stop both Frost and Eggman Nega from getting their hands on them.
