Who is the best villian in DBZ? Not counting the movies or power, but like personality and what not.

Well I can't wait to hear your response Skylert, but as for me. Everyone by this point probably knows my answer. Frieza is the absolute best villain ever in DBZ. Why? Several reasons:

1. He was the originally intended "final" enemy. Akira Toriyama carried on DBZ after Frieza only by force.

2. He is clearly based off of the concept of Lucifer in Christian religion. He is infinitely arrogant and looks at everything else as little more than disgusting insects that are destined to always serve him.

3. Frieza's saga is the last really dramatic and heart pounding saga. The Saiyan Saga beats Frieza in terms of sheer drama, but like Vegeta, Frieza single handedly took on practically every Z Senshi and won. You think he's gone and he comes back more pissed and more powerful than ever.

4. The dramatic moments in the Frieza saga. When Vegeta and Frieza first face off, it is the first real time we actually root for Vegeta, who is going up against the man who tormented and made his life a living hell from the beginning. Then when Frieza makes his claim of having a power level over 1 million it's just a heart stopping moment to watch him crush Gohan, Krillin and Vegeta. Then when Piccolo shows up, we get the absolute best Piccolo scene in the entire series, Piccolo VS Second Form Frieza. And what happens next? Frieza transforms again (he is actually getting closer to his true form, not the other way around) and slaughters everyone. So why does he transform into his true form? Gohan reveals his anger and crushes him, bringing up another point of Frieza's personality, his infinite fear of the legendary Super Saiyan. Finally the absolute most dramatic scene in DBZ series, movie, DB, or DBGT, the scene just before Vegeta dies.

5. Like I mentioned above, the scene where Vegeta dies stands as the absolute most heartfelt moment in the entire series. Vegeta actually cries and begs his arch-nemesis to take down Frieza. Then what happens? After brutally leading him on and torturing him, Frieza kills Vegeta, making him the only villain to do this personally.

6. Frieza's sheer evil. Yeah, yeah Majin Buu is pure evil, but he doesn't know any better, that was his purpose to be absolute evil. Frieza knows the difference between right and wrong and he consciously makes it his job to torture and kill anyone he pleases. This is a man so evil he made King Kai (basically God in a sense) shit himself just thinking about Goku going against Frieza.

7. Frieza's arrogance is another part of his personality that screws the other villains out of winning this. He uses just enough power to go up against his opponents and win, to make their loss that much more suffering. He does the same thing to Goku, even scaring everyone shitless when they find out that Goku has been using the Kaio Ken attack the entire time.

8. Just the legend behind Frieza. Frieza is STATED in the manga and the anime to be THE absolute most powerful being in the entire universe. This means that everyone after that who is called by that title is just second rate to Frieza. Remember, DBZ was going to end with Frieza (as it rightly should have) thus Frieza is by a fact the most powerful being in the universe in the original plotline, before Akira Toriyama was forced to continue. To beat Frieza you have to be "THE ONE". That being is the Legendary Super Saiyan. So what is Broli then you ask? A useless attempt to rectify breaking the original legend. The Legendary Super Saiyan is the only one who can kill Frieza. Discounting Trunks because of his existance never originally being intended, Goku is the only person outside of the movies who killed Frieza. That makes Goku the Legendary Super Saiyan. That was the point in the series when I had the most love for Goku, when he had attained the status of being "THE ONE".

9. Finally, without Frieza DBZ wouldn't be a thing like it ended up being. Frieza set the groundwork for beings like Cell and Buu to even have a purpose. Without Frieza, there would be no Super Saiyan. The things touched on in the Frieza saga would never have existed. The bottom line, Frieza is one of the most important elements to the storyline of DBZ and if he hadn't been in it, it just wouldn't have been what it came to be.

There's my rant, you've all heard it a million times but it's here and it's never leaving my heart.

Frieza > All other villains in DB, DBZ, DBGT

That was very chilled lol I just gorged myself on Mexican food then drove around town for an hour, I couldn't be more chilled if I was frozen in a block of ice. It's just my opinion that I like to support with as much information as I can muster.

I only saw Frieza a little (two episodes), but not enough to judge Frieza... so I'll say Cell, because he's the only villian I truly know. Man, that villian packs a punch.... and furthermore... he does have the cells of the best fighters in the world, including Frieza's.
