The Process is the Aeon. It is the agent of the Aeon, the instrument of the Aeon and the inexorable power of the Aeon. It is pure energy, pure force of intention and power of will.

From its SOURCE, The Process manifests in four aspects. These are the Micro-Process, Macro-Process, Outer Process and Inner Process.

The Micro-Process is so named for the Microchaosm. This is the processing of the Individual. It is also called the Transformation Process. The Micro-Process has as its purpose the increased freedom, ability and actualization of the Individual. This process of Becoming works within several areas of the beingness of the Individual so as to effect thorough and profound transformation. These areas are SOURCE, Being, Mind, Energy and Body. The book CHAOSMOS is the manual of the Micro-Process, supplemented by Sections One through Four of The Process Reading List.

The Macro-Process is so named for the Macrochaosm. This is the processing of the environment. It is also called the Telesis Process. The Macro-Process has as its purpose the creation of an environment that is both more suitable for the new type of person created by the Micro-Process and also encourages further improvement and development. The Macro-Process will manifest through the intentional processing of environments (local, global and beyond), combined with success of the Micro-Process within a growing number of Individuals, as the memes of The Process spread along their vectors and the effects of The Process ripple out through the matrix of the world. The Macro-Process is described in the TELESIS section of the Manifesto, and is fleshed out in more detail in some of the books in Section Six of The Process Reading List.

The Outer Process (OP) is the sum of the body of Individuals transformed by the Micro-Process and the memetic proliferation and transformational effectiveness of the Macro-Process. The OP also consists of "amateur" Processors, allies, fellow-travellers and sympathizers.

The Inner Process (IP) is the Network of Individuals most committed to The Process, working together (as Individuals or in cells) and employing the most intense and advanced Micro- and Macro- strategies and methods; the "Illuminati", you could say. Inspiration for forming and operating IP cells is found in some of the books in Section Six of The Process Reading List.

In past manifestations of The Process, members called themselves "Processeans". Now, those Individuals who manifest The Process are instead known as PROCESSORS, a title that focusses on ACTION: the processing of self and environment.

Ultimately, The Process is more than a group of beings clothed in human forms. It is more than a way of living life. It is more than a philosophy, more than a theory, more than an attitude of mind. It is more than an idea and more than a system of acquiring knowledge. All of these things are contained within The Process, but The Process is MORE. The Process is the presence of CHAOS on Earth. The Process is the Army of CHAOS on Earth.

The Process Sign was originally devised as a letter "P" seen from the four cardinal directions. The "P", of course, is for "Process", but may also stand for "Power".

Because of the similarity of The Process Sign to the Swastika, some people jump to the conclusion that The Process is a Nazi or fascist movement. It is easy to reply to such people that The Process Sign is the Nazi symbol turned inside-out.

However, The Process does not wish to deny the Swastika at all. The Swastika has been used by many, many cultures from places all over the globe and stretching back into the primordial mists of prehistory. It could be said to be mankind's most ancient, universal and sacred symbol. It has many cultural interpretations; but the main themes are SOURCE, power, well-being and good fortune. A group called Friends of the Swastika has taken on the mission of detoxifying and rehabilitating the image of the Swastika from its associations with hatred, fear and destruction. The Process fully endorses and supports this work.

The Process Sign enjoys and benefits from the power that it derives as a variation of the Swastika. Its special form also makes it a diagram of the transformational structure of The Process. The four arms signify both the four aspects of The Process as a whole and the four points of the Micro-Process. The place in the center of The Process Sign signifies SOURCE. Its whirling motion indicates the dynamic nature of The Process.

Ultimately, The Process Sign is a SIGIL of evolution, revolution, extropy, action and CHANGE.

The word "responsibility" has been perverted to mean "obligation". It is used as a "button" to activate feelings of guilt by which an Individual can be manipulated into servitude and slavery, into becoming a willing host for parasites. Responsibility has come to mean obligation to others, society, the state and so on.However, the essence of responsibility is quite the opposite. Responsibility is willingness and ability to be CAUSE. Rather than being obligated by external factors (allowing existence to be determined by outside forces), the responsible Individual CREATES the self-chosen external factors of their existence.It has been said that every man and every woman is a star. What does a star DO? It radiates energy. It is a creative SOURCE. Obligation can be felt as something pushing or pulling from outside. True responsibility, however, comes from within and radiates outward through creation, causation and action.

A crucial function of The Process is to purge the Individual and the world of the Grey Forces.On the surface, the Grey Forces are the forces of conformity, convention and normalcy. These forces include both the convention of the day and others of longer duration and deeper, transcultural influence. A person that is saturated with the Grey Forces (referred to in Process jargon as John/Jane Grey, or simply as a grey) is a "sheep" in the "herd", a portion of selfless substance in the mass, the grey mud of humanity.The mass is a manifestation of mutual dependence rooted in mutual helplessness. John Grey lacks the awareness to perceive the conditions of his existence. Even if he were aware, he lacks the intelligence to understand. Even if he could understand, he is not competent to handle it. Even if he were competent, he is too lazy to try. Even if he were not so lazy, he is too apathetic to care. Even if he cared, he is too frightened to confront it. John Grey lives and loves without purpose, without intensity, without fire. He just goes through the motions, playing the role that he believes is expected of him.By conforming himself to other-determined rules and forms, he unconsciously hopes to gain some vague reward. Instead, his abdication of Self and responsibility brings only punishment as his intentions and energies are suppressed and perverted into increasingly severe manifestations of stupidity, ugliness and pain. This is the doom of the Grey Forces; and insofar as one's destiny is tied up in those forces, so will one share in the doom.Processors strip away the varnish of hypocrisy and fraud, revealing the Grey Forces for what they are; be it either in the world or even within ourselves. Processors generate creativity, not convention. We generate originality, not conformity. We generate health, not normalcy. We allow no space or energy for ignorance, stupidity, incompetence, laziness, apathy or fear. The first manifestation of The Process was created in the early 1960s e.v. by Individuals that had been involved in Scientology. This manifestation was known as Compulsions Analysis. It combined processes derived from Dianetics and Scientology with ideas based on Alfred Adler's theories regarding goals. These processes were used to help Individuals to discover their own Basic Goal (perhaps related to Aleister Crowley's concept of "True Will") which they were trying to fulfill, though perhaps unconsciously and in aberrated ways. The group's activity came to viewed as a meta-process; hence, The Process.The processes used in Scientology are psycho-spiritual exercises which rehabilitate and empower the Self. They are extremely powerful and effective.About twenty years after The Process came into being, there was a schism within the Church of Scientology. A network of independent Scientologists came into being that has come to be called the Free Zone. The Free Zone provides an alternative to the exorbitant fees and abuses of power with which the "official" Church organizations have come to be associated. The Free Zone also continues research into more powerul and effective forms of processing.This current manifestation of The Process is enthusiastic about Scientology practice. Several books by the chief developer of Dianetics and Scientology, L.Ron Hubbard, are recommended in The Process Reading List. However, The Process aligns itself strictly with the Free Zone. Particularly recommended are the materials developed by the Individual known as The Pilot, as well as Flemming Funch's Transformational Processing. The Process does not recommend that Individuals affiliate with any "official" Church of Scientology organizations. The Process is not a religion.Which brings us to the subject of ritual. The second manifestation of The Process, the Church of the Final Judgment, was religious. It perceived universal and internal forces as "Gods" which it named Jehovah, Lucifer, Satan and Christ. Rites were performed to honor and appeal to these "Gods", notably a Sabbath ceremony. However, the religiosity of the Church of the Final Judgment is inappropriate to the current manifestation of The Process (though Processors may still find philosophical and psychological meaning in the mythological schemes of the old Church). Still, The Process does retain the power of ritual.In the past, the approach to ritual was religious, but today it is MAGICKAL. In particular, The Process aligns itself with Chaos Magick because of the purity of its methods and because of the diversity and Individuality of its applications.A Processor uses a ritual chamber called a Praxeum. The "ideal" Praxeum would be a plain, bare, neutral room with unobtrusive storage spaces. These storage spaces would be stocked with all kinds of decorations, costumes, ritual implements, art supplies, sex toys, audio/visual equipment, models, dolls and other things to facilitate the greatest variety of exploration and expression.Educational and inspirational books on ritual practice are listed in Section Five of The Process Reading List.Processing and ritual are complementary technologies and can often be merged according to the ingenium of the Processor.

The 8008 formula derives from Scientology. It describes the process of reducing the (apparent) infinity and power of the MEST (Matter, Energy, Space, Time) universe to a zero for oneself, while increasing the (apparent) zero of one's own universe to an infinity for oneself. This is the old alchemical formula of "Solve et Coagula" applied to reality in accordance with the Chaoist principle "nothing is true and everything is permitted".The 80 part of the formula makes use of "clearing technology" , spiritual and psychological processes and exercises which free the Individual from the influence of disturbing past incidents and limiting beliefs and viewpoints. Magickally, 80 work also employs the ritual technology of "banishing"; whether of some "inner demon", some external influence or even of the universe, itself, as in Aleister Crowley's LIBER YOD (DCCCXXI). The aim of the 80 part of the formula is to fully confront, clearly perceive and recognize those influences and structures that put you at EFFECT (other-determinism); to confront, perceive and recognize how YOU create and support those influences and structures in your relationship with them; and to stop granting reality to them, and to withdraw your attention and energy from them. Those who become adept at this will learn how to REVERSE THE FLOW, and shift into an active (08) state and gain new power.The 08 part of the formula makes use of any technology that increases and exercises the creativity, responsibility, self-determinism, intelligence, ability, strength and health of the Individual. Magickally, 08 work uses the ritual technology of "invocation" to recreate and empower oneself. The ritual technology of "enchantment" is used to influence reality. In "pure magick", this is accomplished by projecting an image of the "is-to-be" that is empowered by the Will. Similarly, a Scientology OT (Operating Thetan) creates reality directly by "mocking-up" matter, energy, space and time by INTENTION. The aim of the 08 part of the 8008 formula is that the Individual is willing and able to be CAUSE, to be SOURCE of reality; to start, change or stop the forces at work in reality and to create influences, structures and environments which direct the flow of cause and effect to the desired end(s).Both aspects of the 8008 formula should be applied together, although at some times it may be necessary to focus on applying one aspect before progress can be made with the other.The Process is the 8008 formula applied within both the Microchaosm and Macrochaosm

Primordial Chaos is the unborn, uncreated, unshaped and unconditioned SOURCE and basis of all things. Chaos is omnipresent and nondualistic. Unnameable, Chaos is the formless form, the imageless image. Indefinable and unimaginable, and yet, existence and form arise from it. The implicit Chaos is the infinite, creative Zero. Chaos is also the One, the Two, the Three, and so on. This is the explicit Chaos of existence and form. Chaos is ever hidden and always manifest. It is both inner essence and outer aspect.The SOURCE of "Reality" (in this case meaning possibility and creation) is the Zero. The pregnant Void. Most people think of a void as a vast, empty space. However, the Void is not simply "nothing". It is "no-thing." By a "thing" is meant not just an object, but any finite quality or definition. Empty space is something. Space and emptiness are both "things". For the Void to be "no-thing", it must simultaneously be nothing and everything. It is without describable qualities because it contains all possible qualities. Just as we say that black is no color because it is all colors. Our world of forms and ideas is Chaos and one with that which is formless. This seething froth of quanta IS the Void. All and None, One and the Same.As a symbol, imagine all realities arranged in the form of a multidimensional mandala or wheel. Moving from the periphery of the mandala to the center, from the rim of the wheel to its hub, realities become more fluid and interpenetrant. Overlapping. Merging. Meanwhile, the aspects of phenomena begin to gradually fade. All details are absorbed into no-thing, the clear SOURCE at the center.Moving outward from the center, the potentia of the clear SOURCE is expressed in a swirling maelstrom of phenomena. As phenomena manifest individual thing-events, reality becomes more opaque and discrete. The nature and position of each thing-event is determined by, and is a condition of, the nature and position of every other thing-event (and the reverse, as well).The center of this mandala or wheel is everywhere and the circumference is nowhere. Every possibility is implicit in the clarity of the SOURCE. The SOURCE is immanent in every discrete, opaque detail of phenomenal reality. Each thing-event contains the reflection of all other thing-events on to infinity. Chaosmos is a decentralized unity, an undivided whole, and each part contains the whole. There is no obstruction between one thing-event and another, and influence acts every which way in time and space. All thing-events are intimately, instantaneously, nonlocally connected because they are all and none, one and the same, in the SOURCE. Sometimes steam, sometimes ice, always water.Structures in nature are so organic, nonlinear, multidimensional and paradoxically simple-complex as to not be definable as "structure" at all by the usual standards. This is Chaos. Chaos is composed of webs of dynamic relationships and interactions. Phenomena are spoken of as "thing-events." Every "thing" is an event in time and space. Everything is in process. A "noun" is the knot where the threads of several "verbs" come together.Chaos is liquid. All the action is in stuff that flows. Ancient myths from many cultures symbolized Chaos as an ocean. This is a good symbol. Water is the origin and sustainer of life. The waters flow with tides and currents. All things can be seen as the peaks of waves which arise from and fall back into the sea of possibility.Chaos is a dynamic, turbulent ocean of potentia manifesting worlds within itself. Life and consciousness infuse all its creations in a seamless Continuum of Being. It is all an ecstatic dance of currents and ripples and waves. Continuous creation and evolution, flowing, revolving, in order to explore every possibility and variation of form, being and experience is Chaos at PLAY.

environment: n. 1) the circumstances or conditions that surround one; surroundings. 2) the total of circumstances surrounding an organism or group of organisms, esp: A. the combination of external or extrinsic physical conditions that affect and influence the growth and development of organisms. B. the complex of social and cultural conditions affecting the nature of an individual or community. 3) an artistic or theatrical work that surrounds or involves the audience.The reclamation of space and resources is a crucial factor in reclaiming self-determinism and enacting the fulfillment of willed purpose. Weaving together the threads of shelter, food, water, energy, finance and social dynamics, a picture emerges of a total environment. This picture is a sigil, a dream that wills to become flesh.Research has revealed the strategy and tactics through which a cooperative group of Individuals can start their own community with a moderate investment and with few technical skills. If the group is organized and determined, this can be accomplished in a short amount of time. What is required is a workable plan and the focus of intent. This is a call to allies who will for this to happen.The first general consideration to arise is ecological responsibility and attunement. We know that this is simply the proper way to live. Natural and human elements should be integrated so that the forces of nature carry our purpose forward and outward. We should create channels for the energies and weave them in a practical way.As an example, the Earthship is an environmentally sensitive, fully independent home. For those unfamiliar with the Earthship, it is a structure designed by Solar Survival Architecture in Taos, New Mexico. Recycled automobile tires are filled with compacted earth to form a rammed-earth brick encased in steel belted rubber. These bricks are used to create massive, three-foot thick bearing walls incorporated into the earth. The living spaces thus retain a constant temperature that is fine-tuned by natural ventilation systems, thermal mass and passive solar heating. The Earthship produces its own electricity with a pre-packaged photovoltaic power system. Water is collected from a roof silt catch and cistern system. Black water (what gets flushed down the toilet) is handled by composting and/or solar toilets. Grey water (all other household effluents besides black water) is fed to an interior, food-producing greenhouse bed.The Earthship is a symbol for a whole system, one that is completely integrated with its environment and is therefore the ideal in regards to permanent housing. As a temporary and immediate goal, shelter can be constructed using other rammed earth, underground, cob, strawbale, adobe or other building methods. The Yurt is a form of portable shelter used by nomadic people in Asia. Quality Yurts made of strong, durable materials are available commercially. All of these structures could be utilized on their own merits or until the finances and resources necessary for the Earthship can be acquired.A good model for explaining this concept further would be that of the computer. You do not have to buy a fully-loaded workstation all at once. You can start small and slowly upgrade and expand your system as time goes by. You can start small on a limited budget, and, over time, use accumulated finances and resources to expand and upgrade by buying more land, adding on to the existing structures, and add more/better systems for energy, water storage and so on.Land can be acquired cheaply if it is still in its undeveloped state instead of spending tens of thousands of dollars clearing it and hooking it up to costly power grids and sewer systems. A lot of building materials can be liberated and recycled from construction site "leftovers". There are relatively easily accessible sources for obtaining vehicles, equipment, tools, appliances, furniture, clothing and even food for wholesale or below wholesale costs (or for learning to self-produce these).A result of living in an environment such as we are evoking is the empowerment of the Individual. The organizing principle in such an environment is based on symbiosis. Each component is arranged to synergistically maximize the effectiveness of the whole system. When survival needs for water, food and shelter are met, time and energy are freed and reclaimed by the Individual. This time and energy are valuable resources that by attention and intent can be focussed into a new lifestyle and a new state of being. In a community, Individuals would support and encourage each other in this process.Concurrent with Individual empowerment is economic empowerment. Money and resources have always been a major concern of countercultural movements (the other big concern being the flow of information). We are making a space for the return of "cottage industry" in the form of permaculture, aquaculture, manufacturing, telecommuting, on-line business, mail order, small press and so on. This can be Individual and/or community scaled. For example, the entire community could be involved in maintaining a microbrewery, while individuals pursue their own careers as artists, writers, architects or software designers.In such an environment, "producer" and "consumer" merge into a "prosumer" who produces goods and services for exchange as well as for themselves. It is probably a good idea for a community to have several sources of income. Even if these are small, they will be considerable when they are combined, especially since the cost of living has been greatly reduced. If the dynamics are skillfully and artfully arranged, the Individual will no longer be forced to sacrifice their passions in order to earn a living. They can "earn a living" as a side-effect of cultivating and fulfilling their passions.The social dynamics in a community situation will demand the exploration of new relationship, family and tribal styles.In an industrial society, traditional, so called "nuclear" family, the father-breadwinner is entirely consumed by a "job" in order to support his family. This "job" is otherwise a means to use his time, energy and attention to support industrial society. The wife-homemaker is consumed by household management and child-rearing. The children are distracted by school until they reach adulthood and can continue the cycle. A life's time is a terrible thing to waste.Of course, this model is somewhat outmoded in that most wives and mothers now also work outside the home. This is a major advance in the social and economic empowerment of women by the standards of industrial society. However, it is a problem in terms of family dynamics. The homemaker was at least able to spend some time with the children. Now, neither parent has much time for the children or each other.In ISLAND, Aldous Huxley describes the "nuclear" family as:"...one sexually inept wage slave...one dissatisfied female, two or (if preferred) three small television addicts; marinate in a mixture of Freudism and dilute Christianity; then bottle tightly in a four-room flat and stew for fifteen years in their own juice..."Huxley then goes on to describe the extended family model employed by the Palanese as:"...twenty sexually satisfied couples and their offspring; add science, intuition and humor in equal quantities; steep in tantrik buddhism and simmer indefinitely in an open pan in the open air over a brisk flame of affection..."And even this model which Huxley created for his practopian island society can be expanded and improved upon in that it contains a subtle, residual monogamy-bias that may be difficult to maintain in practice, assuming such a thing were even desired.The proposed community could also serve as a location for conferences, symposiums and many other types of events; and the next stage of growth will be to establish many such communities linked together in a global network.The real-life influence of living in ecolibrium, Individual and economic empowerment and new models and dynamics of social, interpersonal and filial relationships will manifest a global transformation process through both magickal reverberation and plain, old good example. This network of linked communities will facilitate The Process of global alchemy through collective effort, movement of personnel, cooperative strategies and so on.In summation and as a plan for immediate action, groups can be formed to pool their resources in order to acquire suitable land, obtain the necessary knowledge and skills and build the temporary housing to be followed by the upgrades and expansions described earlier. Individual and communal business can be interwoven to create an economic base. The fulfillment of this goal-- the fleshing of this dream-- on its own merits, as an extension of the Network and as a vehicle for the Telesis Process requires only our dedicated intention and effort.

The flow of information has been one of the major operational concerns of countercultural movements throughout history (the other big concern being money and resources). Most would have been overjoyed to have a postal system. Radios and telephones have played vital roles in spite of codebreakers and wiretaps. We are convened in a very fortunate situation. By virtue of existing information technology and telecommunications, this manifesto can be made globally available in an instant.The Information Revolution has set forces in motion which have deep social system effects. Advances in networking technologies are changing how people spend their time and what and who they know and care about. This is the birth of the Network. Social networks can quickly and easily evolve into vast, crossborder networks and coalitions. The Information Revolution favors the growth of such networks by making it possible for diverse, dispersed groups and Individuals to communicate, consult, coordinate and operate together across greater distances on the basis of more and better information than ever before.The Network is a solvent. It dissolves borders and boundaries. It disrupts and erodes hierarchies and institutions. It diffuses and redistributes power. It opens closed systems. The Network is the vehicle of the process of Telesis. It is within the Network that ideas and information are developed, tested, cultivated and circulated. It is through the Network that the ideas are implemented and the information is disseminated. The form of the Network is multidimensional and organic. This is also true of its content. Both are alive, fluid, changing and evolving. The medium is the message.It is our will to form such a Network of groups and Individuals with the desire, will, commitment, skills and resources to facilitate the Telesis Process through global and local activity.
