Description: are you in a band?

Windlord - August 14, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
I play Bass (still learning mostly) and would like to start a band that is pretty much never going to happen, but oh well i still like jamming on my bass.

Lyn - August 14, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
ooo, topic in media i can finally post in. i play the acoustic guitar but i would like to play some hardcore stuff on it. (it is possible) like my guitar teacher was playing demon hunter on acoustic..it was really funny actually.

Windlord - August 14, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
hmm not sure but I think DH might actually do some acoustic stuff, there are several bands that do I know that much, oh I forgot that i can ply a bunch of zelda tunes on the keyboard. :D ... course i guess that doesn't really count.

Beowulf - August 14, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
I can play anything brass, though my bass clef reading skills are a bit iffy. I can play piano too, though I still haven't master much of two handed playing. <_< I also play acustic guitar. Wait, can I still say that? *picks up guitar* Yeah, a little.

Lyn - August 14, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
no he does something with tuning the 6th string lower and then he plays it with one finger because of it. it doesnt sound half bad. but then hes been playing for 30 yrs and can play everything under the sun. he puts me to shame.

Dragocloon - August 15, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
I can play the guitar, acustic, classical, and heavy metal  the tuning, Lyn, is drop D. it's often used in heavy metal bands, like korn disturbed, DH. mostly metal.

Lyn - August 15, 2006 03:12 AM (GMT)

Dragocloon - August 15, 2006 06:17 AM (GMT)
No prob, I'll try and see If I can teach you how to tune in it. :Don2: And if you'd like I can teach you to read tabs. :pirate:

Beowulf - August 16, 2006 02:14 AM (GMT)
I think it'd be sweet if some of us got together and formed a band. Not that we'd ever make it big, but it'd be fun. :D

Dragocloon - August 16, 2006 02:24 AM (GMT)
That would be fun.

Lyn - August 16, 2006 02:31 AM (GMT)
a band?! i laugh in hysteria at the two of you. lol

does anyone know an acoustic guitar brand that plays well (sounds good) but is kind to the poor ppl in America? i use my sisters larrivee, and i cant afford one and im tired of using hers.....any suggestions would be welcomed and cherished.........

Dragocloon - August 16, 2006 02:42 AM (GMT)
Well, acustic guitars are often used in christian music. and my dad has a fender tellacaster. He'd let me use that.

Ishtar - August 29, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)
I play minor acoustic guitar and some percussion, but if you guys are starting a band, i think I want to be stage crew. lol.

Beowulf - August 29, 2006 02:27 AM (GMT)
Hey, we'd need a singer. Can't really have a band without a singer. Well, you could, but not very well.

Random off-topicyness: You said you'd make me a tape of you singing sometime. Just kinda popped into my head, and I thought I'd remind you. :Loth:

Ishtar - August 29, 2006 03:06 AM (GMT)
Rettanya said he would do it....besides, I don't think I would be very good at it....

i'll make you a tape when I find my tape recorder or sit still long enough to do it on my computer.

Gearix - August 29, 2006 12:00 PM (GMT)

Dark Knight - August 29, 2006 12:49 PM (GMT)
In answer to lyns question, Martins are hands down the best, unfortunatly they're quite pricey but alot of my friends have Jasmins, which are a little more affordible. :)

Lyn - August 29, 2006 02:15 PM (GMT)
@logan:are they cheaper than larrivees??

leviticus - September 3, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
@Lyn. Oscar Schimdt makes a great sound.

I play the Quads for my Marching Band( yes it's true, I go to *cough-northridge-cough* :( :( :( :( :( :( ), I play Northridges set for pepband, due to lack of viking percussionists, and I have a set at home collecting dust, no thanks to WL and family  lol.
