Gathering Her Up Part 1

[Nani]

Note: I noticed a screw up in ages with Ronny and Dani. Dani is actually the elder, not Ronny.

Dani looked around. Her city had been attacked and the refugees had been moved to KO35 temporarily. Though, from what little she had seen of the place, she'd like to live there...possibly permanently. The hem of her black dress fluttered in the wind as she looked around.

She shuffled her shoes before sitting down on a bench nearby. She looked around, flipping her magically dyed black hair over her shoulder.

[Nani]

"Are you lost?" said a voice.
Dani looked up into a smiling face. A man, probably about 5' 10", with long blond/brown hair pulled back stood there. Dani nodded a silent greeting to him.

"I'm one of the refugees," She replied, holding out a paper to him, "I'm having a little trouble finding this place."
The man took the paper, then grinned.

"So you're Daniella?"
Dani's pierced brow raised.

"This place," He held up the paper, "is where me and my..."
"Boyfriend?" Dani offered.
The man blushed a bit and nodded.

"Don't worry, hon, got nothing against it," She chuckled, "most of my best guy friends are gay or bisexual. So I'm cool with it."
He let out a breath.

"So you guys are the ones that took me in, huh?"
"Yes."
"Cool."
She cocked her head, inspecting him for a moment, then smiled.

"Veteran ranger, eh?"
His eyes went wide. She took out her wand.

"Black Mystic Ranger, though don't tell the other Mystic Rangers about me..."
"You want to keep it a secret," He said in understanding.
She nodded. He looked around, as if searching for something.

"Where's your stuff?" He asked.
Dani chuckled.

"I learned recently that my wand responds quite well to Harry Potter charms and incantations and stuff," She explained, "so I could shrink my stuff...all of it. I did it before the city went down..."
She shook her head.

"Especially after a particularly bad nightmare..."
"That ended up coming true," He finished.
"Yeah."

[Nani]

She picked up her stuff and followed the guy home. His roomie was at the door waiting for them.

"Took you long enough," said an amused platinum blonde.
Dani snickered.

"Sorry, there was a couple places I saw along the way that I wanted to get a better look at," She said.
She was lying and the one with her knew it, but he didn't say a word. The platinum blond smiled at her and she let out a breath silently.

"I'm Zhane, he introduced, chuckling at the other man, "the bonehead next to you is Andros."
Her eyes went wide in recognition.

"Take me out, to the black, tell them I ain't comin' back..." She whispered.
Zhane raised a brow at her and Dani shook her head clearing the shock.

"Just something my cousin Ashley told me..." She let out a breath, "last thing I remember her telling me before she disappeared was 'Andros', 'Deka', 'Space', and the line I just said..."
Then a look of realization went over their faces.

"She was in the town when it..."
Dani nodded.

"She made sure that me and the others got out..."
"Others?"
Dani gulped.

"I can't..."
Dani started shaking and both men just seemed to wrap around her, engulfing her in warmth and love.

[Nani]

She laid on her stomach in her new room. Andros told her that his sister, Karone, had designed it for her. And Dani had to thank the Deities that there was so much storage space. Cause she was able to store her sorted, still shrunken, belongings in the clear drawers. She felt Andros and Zhane come into the room and sit down on the bed with her as she went through the numbers on her cell phone: Ian, Rufus, Julie, Grams Agatha, Rina, Uncle Logan, Ruby, Peyo, Cousin Sasha, Moira, Raya, Gramps Edmund, etc. She pulled up pics left and right when Andros stopped her by pointing out one.

"Where was this taken?" He asked her softly, rubbing her back in a comforting gesture.
Dani sighed and leaned against Andros and enlarged the picture. On the back said: Dani and Vanessa, friends 4ever.

"Who is..."
"Was, is more accurate."
Zhane's brows furrowed.

"Who?"
"My friend. My first friend."
