Official network description
A fast-paced, hard-driving series set in Toronto in a paranoid post 9/11 world concerned with one topic – The Border, with its security crises, terrorist infiltrations, cross-border police actions, and trafficking in everything from enriched uranium to abducted children. The Canada–U.S. border --- three thousand miles that cut through rivers, cities, forests, even living rooms and that once seemed safe and secure. Once known proudly as "the world's longest undefended border" –- it's undefended no more. In The Border, the elite Immigration and Customs Security (ICS) Squad takes on Canada's toughest border security cases. These are complex problems with complex solutions - sometimes they will seem as murky and ill-defined as the border itself. More often than not, cases will be mired in the paranoia and turf wars that infect the politics of Ottawa, Washington, London and the rest of this frightened, post-9/11 world. And then there's the human factor. Unlike their political bosses, ICS Agents work the front lines and they go wherever the cases take them – across the country, across the border and across the ocean if need be. Lead by Major Mike Kessler, a former JTF-2 commander, the elite ICS unit confronts humanity at its best and worst -- terrorists, heroes, sexual predators, desperate refugees – your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. To add to their frustrations, Kessler and co. often butt heads with two other agencies: CSIS – in the form of Agent Andrew Mannering, who sees the world in black and white and is prepared to sacrifice a few innocent lives for the greater good of democracy; and hard-nosed U.S. Homeland Security Agent, Lupe LaGarda, based in Toronto, she's fiercely patriotic and determined to push through American interests in what she perceives as a soft-on-crime, bleeding heart Canadian system. Drawn from today's headlines, the stories for The Border are as varied and endless as tomorrow's news.

Where and When It Will Air
In Canada the show will air on CBC but the question right now is "When?" The airdates have been changed a few times and right now it is unclear whether the show will air in the fall or midseason. Originally it was set to air in the fall but now it is looking like it won't air until January.
The show has not yet been picked in the U.S. as far as I know.

What I Have To Say About It
Apparently it'll be good. I've heard it will air in the same slot as Intelligence once Intelligence has finished its run and CBC wants to promote the show more in the fall before airing it. I'm definitely gonna check it out as the premise seems solid and realistic and original.
