First of all a big thank you to the Crusaders who came along and helped with the numbers after we had continual let downs by people dropping out!

Lawrence will post the full results up soon but I can firmly say all top 6 positions (of 16) were filled with Crusaders members! Great day had by all I hope! I know I enjoyed my 3 games.

Is anyone able to check Phil is still alive? I think Alison was pretty peeved he tabled her in the last game tongue.gif

It was certainly a lot of fun. A couple of really close games, but I was happy with the way my army performed. The thunderfire cannon was definitely my saviour in all 3 games. It took out a good number of nurgle marines, most of Phils infantry and all the dark eldar wyches that were running at me.

Indeed thanks for organising it will be getting some photos off Rob shortly to put up.

A great opportunity to play some different armies and the perfect reason to churn out the tournament guard list and not feel guilty - though a couple of hard lessons learn't playing vs David, just lucky that bayonett finally finished off the final terminator! my word was that game close! and shows my why my 2K list has 5 ogryn in it!

Lessons such as "just because its only a small gap, it doesn't mean someone won't risk deepstriking terminators into it and behind all your tanks" and "thunderfire cannons love shooting airbursts at infantry who've had their transport popped" wink.gif

Painful tongue.gif

Happy with how my first game against Jay went, with the exception of that bloody Dreadnought that walked from one table edge to the other without a single damage roll on it, dispute eating all of my DL fire for two solid turns at the end. Final game against Nick was... well, I had 5 Venoms and a Disintegrator Ravager (amongst other things), he had a mostly foot-based Eldar infantry list with little cover on his table edge. It wasn't exactly the most balanced of matches.

Second game against Alex was a complete cock-up. I was able to blame the terrain (or lack of it) for most of it, but letting his Overlord get within 3" of my objective by the end was a stupid mistake. Still, had I drawn against him I might not have won the third game, so I'll happily keep 2 wins and a loss compared to what could've been 1/1/1. The third game was kill points, and I had 18...

All in all though, it was a great day. Well organised, well run, and at the end of the day everyone was still smiling, or at least pretending to.

Except Alison of course, who was tabled by Phil in their final game.

You have to do it in person sadly but as Stephen mention Simon and he was the last person to do it in person and itís been a while since any of us have heard from it, so you take your life in your own hands mate tongue.gif

Just so we can see what people took does anyone want to post their army list here? That way we can see the differences in list building choices people made. I'll put mine up but to be honest it was down to sheer laziness I took the same list I took in December. My tactics however this time round were much better due to the sheer amount of games I've now played. Trust me to finally get to grips with 5th now its going tongue.gif

Captain, Relic Blade, Melta Bombs, Bike = 170pts

8 Space Marine Bikes, Power Fist, 2x Meltaguns, Attack Bike, Multi-melta = 310pts
10 Tactical Marines, Meltagun, Multi-Melta, Power Fist, Combi-Melta, Rhino = 245pts
10 Tactical Marines, Plasma Gun, Missile Launcher, Power Fist, Combi-Plasma, Razorback, Lascannon/TL-Plasmagun = 290pts

Landspeeder, Typhoon Missile Launcher = 90pts
Landspeeder, Multi-melta, Heavy Flamer = 70pts

Devastator Squad, Melat Bombs, 4x Missile Launchers = 150pts
Predator, Heavy Bolters = 85pts
Predator, Heavy Bolters = 85pts

Results of one win (douched half of Lawrences army by killing his MotF and TH/SS temies with a wreck on their lanraider and they couldn't exit). One draw against Alison although she was very close to winning. 1 Loss by a single kill point vs Alex in the final game, mostly due to being outplayed by Alex and being too defensive.

My list was:

Farseer, both runes, stones, doom, guide and spear
5 fire dragons, exarch, fire pike, both powers
Waveserpent, cannon, lances, stone
6 banshees, exarch, executioner, both powers
5 scorpions, exarch, biting blade, both powers
7 jetbikes, 2 cannons
10 guardians, scatter laser
10 guardians, star cannon
10 storm guardians, 2 fusion guns
9 dire avengers, exarch, p/w, shimmer shield, both powers
5 pathfinders
Warwalker, lance, scatter

This army basically came from being the only fully painted 1500 point force I have. Even so, 5 of the models aren't quite finished. It beat the grey knights comprehensively. It struggled against the feel no pain and high toughness of the death guard, finally losing my objective in the 7th turn. It had no answer to Sami's venom spam. All in all it performed ok for such an unoptimised army.

My list was:

Master of the Forge - Bike, Conversion Beamer

5 Scouts - camo cloaks, missile launcher
10 Tactical marines - Missile launcher, melta gun, power fist, Rhino
10 Tactical marines - Missile launcher, melta gun, power fist, Rhino

Dreadnought - Assault Cannon, Heavy Flamer
5 Terminators - 3x TH/SS, 2 x LC

10 Devastators - 2xMissile Launcher, Lascannon, Heavy Plasma Gun, Razorback w/Las+TLPlasma
Thunderfire Cannon

I'd originally planned to use my orks but on writing the army list, there were some models not painted and I refuse to use unpainted models where possible!

2 wins (Marines and Eldar), 1 loss (Necrons due to some "special" tactical moments from me - could've easily been a draw. Win would've been bloody difficult to pull off tongue.gif).

The results of months of tweaking to get it "just right" so happy with this list:

HQ: Company Command, 3 melta, 1 vox, chimera with dozer blades - 150pts

TR1: Platoon command + 4 flamers in a chimera - 105pts
TR1.2: Platoon + grenade launcher - 55pts (in vendetta 1)
TR1.3: Platoon + grenade launcher - 55pts (in vendetta 2)

TR2: 10 vets with 3 melta and a vox in a chimera with dozer blades - 170pts

FA1: Vendetta - 130pts
FA2: Vendetta - 130pts
FA3: Devil Dog + Smoke - 125pts

HS1: Leman Russ + plasma sponsons - 190pts
HS2: Leman Russ + Plasma sponsons - 190pts
HS3: Leman Russ Eradicator (STR6, AP4, large blast, ignores cover) Plasma sponsons - 200pts

1500pts on the nose, with almost half of that on heavy support. ohmy.gif

It was a hard game to win as I had to move my army into range to get you. If the scarab assault was not as good as it turned out to be, the game result would have been different.

My list was not that different to the usual Tuesday night games list. Some learnt lessons helped with the composition.

Necron Overlord
+Warscythe
+Catacomb Command Barge
with Tesla Cannon

Royal Court:
Harbinger of Destruction (3)
one has a solar pulse

Necron Immortals (5)

Necron Immortals (5)

Necron Immortals (10)

Canoptek Scarabs (10)

Canoptek Spyders (3)

Necron Monolith

Scarabs did well. Ate two Defilers in the first game and rhino/land speeders in the last game. Monolith was ok, useful place to hide things behind but was rubbish in the game with Sami.

My list had nothing to deal with the Scarabs. The Wyches somehow kept them busy for part of the game and the match ended with the Hekatrix running for her life. Monolith was completely underwhelming, but then again so was my shooting against your Command Barges. Actually, my entire performance (dice and tactics) were pretty terrible in that one smile.gif. Saying that, had I pulled out a draw (entirely possible) my third round match-up might've been less favourable and I might've placed lower. I'll take 4th smile.gif

Sadly, I can't squeeze DE's Scarab killing machine into a good 1500 list. The Razorwing's missiles rip them to shreds - 48" S6 AP5 large blast, and I can drop 4 in a turn (only 4 per game though). I have a wonderful 1750 point list that I feel can deal with pretty much anything except massed IG tank spam (always an issue for DE in general), but 1500 DE is a harsh exercise in list building.

Had the tourney been 1750 chances are I would've finally bought a RW and used:

Haemonculus (Liquifier)
Haemonculus (Shattershard)

3x Trueborn (3x Blasters) + Venom (2x Splinter Cannons)
3x Trueborn (3x Blasters) + Venom (2x Splinter Cannons)
3x Trueborn (3x Blasters) + Venom (2x Splinter Cannons)

9x Wyches (Haywire Grenades, Hekatrix with Agoniser) + Raider (Enhanced Aethersails, Flickerfield)
9x Wyches (Haywire Grenades, Hekatrix with Agoniser) + Raider (Enhanced Aethersails, Flickerfield)
5x Warriors (Blaster) + Venom (2x Splinter Cannons)
5x Warriors (Blaster) + Venom (2x Splinter Cannons)
5x Warriors (Blaster) + Venom (2x Splinter Cannons)

Ravager (Flickerfield)
Ravager (Flickerfield)
Razorwing (Flickerfield)

1749 points, and not a single thing I feel I had to compromise on. Good AT, excellent AI, both Wyches have Haemies with lethal weapons and I can alpha strike a dangerous unit off the table with 4 missiles pretty much always wounding on 2s smile.gif.
