Title: Intro Game?

stereynolds - January 2, 2011 02:28 PM (GMT)
Anyone up for running a trial game to show how FoW works on Tuesday the 11th? Not this week the week after.

If that happens, i wouldn't mind watching!!

I either want to start FoW or Fantasy fairly soonish...

I should have pointed out I can bring along some mid war Germans or Desert Brits/Germans

I would have been interested to play/watch but I can't come to the game on the 11th :(

18th then? That means we have 2 weeks to sort something and will give us a break the week before the 40K campaign starts.

Just out of interest, how much would a FoW army cost?
I was thinking of getting some stuff for Christmas from my Grandad, but thought it was fairly expensive, but then again i have no idea what size army would be needed!!!

Depends on the type of army yuo want to collect. But you're looking at 100+ for a balanced army you can then field to suit your taste. Also depends on country as to points/size ratio. Russians lots of men for little points, Germans the opposite.

If you want a reasonably 'cheap' army then mechanised Panzer Grenadiers are both competetive and expensive points wise so will fill up an army quick.

As an example blister packs (use internet to buy them as much cheaper than from a shop) roll in at around 5-7 for a tank or 25-30 for a platoon of 5. Infantry Companies (An entire Company that is so about 3 platoons) costs around 20-30 but one infantry company box should cover all the infantry you'd ever need (unless your playing Russians or an infantry heavy force). Boxes of artillery are usually 25-30 for 4 pieces plus command bases.

I hope to have enought stuff built for the 18th so an intro game then would be good :)

Ok game set for the 18th. My father in law is going to try and pop in on his way home from work. He did come once before, the first time I attended and the last time Martin was running a FoW campaign I think. We'll be bringing some Germans along, just need to know which book to gen them from and how many points. Do we have any FoW scenery at the club or do we need to bring some with us?

Best to bring some along Martin has all the FOW stuff as its his personal gear but we can make sure you got plenty of trees and stuff as well they will just be really big ones is all :D

I found out recently that I won't be around to come to the game on the 18th due to work.

I was looking forward to playing FoW :(

I'll bring Flames of War along anyway just in case someone brings theres. I think Nick mentioned it at Skully yesterday so they'll at least be a few of us.

Adran - January 18, 2011 02:51 PM (GMT)
Yes I'm due a game of Flames tonight, so as long as my opponent shows, I'll be there with a late war British rifle company...

(and I'm Phil)
