Description: Doubles 40k

Lawrence - August 22, 2011 01:07 PM (GMT)
Me and Jay are looking for two opponents to take us on in a non tea boy game i am using normal space marines and jay is using Orks , any feel up to it ?

stereynolds - August 22, 2011 02:59 PM (GMT)
I'd be tempted...How many points? Course I'd need a partner...Any one want to volunteer to be a victum?

jay - August 22, 2011 03:15 PM (GMT)
i think 1500 each so 3k a side would be the plan

orkula - August 22, 2011 03:44 PM (GMT)
I'm up for it.

I'll probably be bringing my marines, although my orks haven't had an airing in a while, so might stick those in the box instead.

Marines and Orks VS Marines and Orks would be quite funny!

"You're the heretic!"

"No you're the heretic!"

jay - August 22, 2011 07:00 PM (GMT)
lol the orks would start fighting over loot instead

"i found it first"

"no i found it first"

Meanwhile a grot is running off with the loot

sounds like we have our selves a game gentlemen :D

orkula - August 23, 2011 09:05 AM (GMT)
Well i managed to find my orks (and the codex eventually this morning!) so they will indeed go to the ball!

Lawrence - August 23, 2011 09:46 AM (GMT)
excellent will be a very interesting game , also funny that own an army that nearly wiped your other army out , what one did you do first i wonder ?

orkula - August 23, 2011 01:40 PM (GMT)
Ah, well the Orks came first, although my very first 40k model was a metal Mk6 space marine. The 'Ork Heavy Weapon Boyz' (2 ork boyz, one with heavy plasma gun and one with a missile launcher) were what turned me to the Green side. I still have those models and they still appear in my army on occasion.

My first Mk6 marine is now my company standard in my marine army after getting the modern command squad box last year to pillage for bits.

Thank you for the game last night had great fun.

Even though my Mek boy forgot to switch his force field on before he got shot and my killakans scorcha tanks exploded before they even got used.

My mega dread was out of it for a while would like to test him again

orkula - August 24, 2011 10:20 AM (GMT)
It was a good game.

Blowing up all 3 killa kans in one round from the Lootas surprised me. Those lootas also dropped a few of the terminators and several members of the tactical squad.
They made up for the Zzap guns who failed to do anything useful all game.

It was also the first time i'd taken the extra armour upgrade and it saved the deff dread every round. Especially useful seeing as he had no guns to shoot with anyway.

My bad moons win the bulletproof award having been shot at for most of the game and each round of fire only taking down one ork at a time.

We should probably put some fire into the Shokk Attack Mek who seemed to do very well at demolishing Stephens marines

Unfortunately Lawrence had some terrible luck all game which did dampen what could have been a great game.
Its a shame we didn't get to get to the end of the game, but it would have been just as close as it was when we ended it

stereynolds - August 24, 2011 10:52 AM (GMT)
Unfortunately my plan to target the shok attack gun mech with my missile armed devastators went wrong when he targeted them first! :P

Good game all told, Lawrence was hampered a little by appalling dice. Would've been nice to have caried on into turn 5 but sadly the time was not available.
