Hey, guys

Haven't been on here in ages just thought I would log on too say hi and tell you all what's going on in my life and also try and get some activity to re board LOL !

Basicly it started December 2007 I was overwieght quit my A levals and decided I needed to do something with my life. I thought I'll join the navy after doing alot of Reading about the service in and what it had to offer, 2 weeks later I walked in to the careers office 0% of confidence in myself and the way I looked and said can I speak to someone from the navy please, out strolls Officer northgate laughing at me you want to join the navy I siad yes I do he continued to laugh walked me to the scales and said jump on there I jumped on the scales and I stood there 2stone overweght from the largest I could be for my hieght. 17stone.
He then gave me some books on fitness and said come back when your fit enough!

I then went home that day scared even lesser confidence than I had before, it took me a couple of hours and it clicked get yourself fit don't get knocked down get up allways!
I then that day booked a induction at a gym cannons and started to burn the fat.
I lost 5 pounds by myself, and felt loads better, ten I meet a Kai a then new personal trainer at cannons started training once a week with him loseing pounds each week in the first month I lost a stone. The second month I lost a stone I felt great I had lost 2 stone and 5 pounds was 100% fitter stronger happier and was bagging loads of confidence I had a new diet wasn't drinking was sleeping better everything.

It was then time to start on phase two, body conditioning I wanted to be stronger I wanted deffenition I was doing press ups, sit ups every morning dedicateing my spare time to my body, I was cycling to the gym and back everyday swimming 25 lengths a day goinggym sometime twice a day.
This was having a major impact on my body I was starting to get some sort of shape and was loving going to the gym could say I was a addict.
I was now at the 4 stone mark and was loving it.

I then rocked up at the careers office 4 stone lighter and asked to speak to officer northgate please out strolls officer northgate looks at me fuckin hell the words on his face read, he walked me to one of the rooms and said well done mate, I remeber the day I laid into you cause I remember going home and telling my wife at dinner that night, he said full credit to you my friend you have done well, so I started my application process and did my form all was in check I then had my phsycometric test booked, I revised and revised for it.

Anyway the day come, I had the test and I FAILED for by choice this was gutting as I had worked so hard to get to were I was so really disheartend I walked home really upset. When again it set it I will not be knocked down and enrolled on a evening maths course as that's what let me down for the enginnering branch I wanted I went down that night meet the lady and took my assesment she said it shouldn't be too much to get you to the standerd needed and so I went on and left ready for next week. After the class I went down to the gym and trained so hard I was I. Agony the next morning I woke up and went to gym again determined to be the best I can I bought phsycometric books and read and read about them.

About 5 weeks on from the test I had took my maths test and felt good I then went gym that eve and beasted myself again and woke up to a article in the paper about commandos from the royal marines going to afghan I seemed to get a buZz from this and wanted to be with them. I opened up by MacBook and started reading about the force itself, the more I read the more I liked about 2 weeks worth of hard training I spoke to Kai my trainer/now good mate and said look I think I'm makeing a bad desicion I really want to be a royal marine he was like wow that is a big step and I think then he thought mmmm would he do it? I continued to train hard for another two weeks marine style loads of running and body wieght exercises whilst waiting for my maths result.

I got my result I passed!!! I rocked up at the carrers office walked and said can I speak to officer northgate please out he walked againbi was even fitter and more ripped than last time, so he was more impressed I said sorry to anoy you but I've changed my mind I wanna join the marines now!
He was like oo shocked really shocked be said hang on a sec walked out and come back and said your current phsycometric test is enough to join the royal marines my smile was getting bigger dreams are happening here so he then booked my PJFT pre-joining fitness test I blitzed this and went back and got a date for my interview and medical I trained just as hard if not harder during this period, I passed my interview and medical even with the guy who took my interview my new careers adviser WO2 mason said I don't think you have what it takes to become a royal marine I was like ok, your opinion and said would you be happy for me too prove you wrong he said most deffentley and shook my hand.

Days gone by and I get a letter telling me when my PRMC is December the 9th 2008 I trained everday for this doing fartlec training, hill sprints 100 press ups 100 sit ups every morning 10 pull ups everyday 3 mile runs each day swimming 50 lengths 3 times a week cycleing everywere In Plymouth I needed to be. I was loving this ( Im a freak) I was a reclose didn't see my mates nothing just was training everday kick-boxing aswell boxing too circuits you name it I was doing it cause I loved it.

The day come to go to lympstone for the first time I was shitting it all dressed smart In a suit case packed with boot polish and rest of gear off I went on the train and arrived at Exeter at davies with the rest of the guys some real good lads on my PRMC anyway I was nervous real nervous and the three days of phsyical beastings and mental tricks went real quick too quick wish I was still there now. Too cut a very very long story short I PASSED I felt awesome couldn't of smiled anymore than I was I was overwhelmed with excitement.

A weekendnof celebrations over I was back in training Monday morning with a 10mile coast run from the village of cremyl and around the coast I have now a week of rest which I think is well earned after 11 months of hard work too reach my dream which is now achived!

My royal marine training start date is march 16th so come janurary 1st I'll be back in training wanting to be fitter stronger than last year!!

So that's my year and what I've been up too, oh and no I haven't passed my driving test yet LOL

I think the morale of the story is ever get knocked down, I will never be knocked down again for sure!!! And if I do il get back up, and be stronger!

Sorry for such a long post but it's the only way I could get you to understand

J898KTA looks utterly stunning IMO. I dont like it at all without the GSi door decals but it comes alive with them on. Gorgeous & Vauxhall shouldve sold the GSi in a similar colour, it works so well.

Mark congrats fella im made up for you. I remember when i first thought about the RAF Regiment and got through all the AFCO tests, all i can say is that the training you will receive will aim to knock you down to the very lowest in order to see if you can pick yourself up which you have already proved so you will blitz it. From my perspective its a great feeling of achievement when you pass the final test so good luck with your chosen.

Thanks guys for the kind replies.......i am 49days today off leaving and cant wait to be honest...... been doing alot of training recently and dieting hard, i am also t total until march which hurts...!!

all i have to say really is, if you have a dream follow it, do not be put down or damaged by others, the only thing that matters is your happiness!!

or as cassias clay (Muhammad ali) said “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.”

thanks again! wink.gif
