--> Register with REGULAR capitalisation, first and last name. Example? Samuel Vimes.
--> Be aware of RATINGS. Ours is PG-13. Please keep swearing to a minimum - you don't see it in the books, so why should you need it here?
--> Although you may have as many CHARACTERS here as you wish, after your fourth character you will need to ensure that each existing character has at least ten IC posts before you can make a new one. This is to ensure activity, and to discourage play-by hogging.
--> Be COURTEOUS. Don't powerplay without permission. Don't nag people for replies - a polite PM once in a while is fine, just don't harass anyone. Try and reciprocate post length, or at least meet the other person half way; by the same token, don't let the length of a post intimidate you! Don't purposefully ignore a member or their character. The more plots the merrier, right? Please also be courteous in the cbox - and remember, you were once a guest, so say howdy when you spot one!
--> IMAGES make the site fun to look at. Avatars may be up to 150x200. If your signature is wider than 550 pixels it will be removed. This is your first, second and third warning. Stretching the board is inconsiderate and unnecessary. No inappropriate images in signatures, please: use your discretion.
--> The only place to post ADVERTS is the Advertising section, in the correct subforum. Do not post adverts anywhere else, and do not PM your advert to any members unsolicited. If you receive such a PM, please alert a staffmember.
--> Here at Crivens!, we role-play in the THIRD PERSON. Simple? Thought so. The codeword is the Woodpecker.
--> In order to RP here, it is absolutely imperative that you have an accepted APPLICATION. You are not allowed to post anywhere outside of the OOC forum without one. Applications need to be posted in the correct forum, and you must use the site application. Please read your application over before submitting it. While we understand the occasional misspelling or two, if we come across ridiculous amounts of misspelled words and grammar mistakes within the first part of the application, we will pend the app, and wait for correction before reading any further. Even if you don't use MS Word, there are many online spelling and grammar checkers available. If you do not post within a week of being accepted with no absence notice, your account will be deleted and your face claim will be freed up.
--> CLAIMS need to be claimed before you can role-play. First come, first served - there will be no reserving.
--> We are an intermediate-advanced, literate RP, and our PARAGRAPH MINIMUM is THREE. Feel free to write more than that, but not less.
--> Remember the SETTING. No, we're not set in any specific book's timeframe, and no, you don't have to have read the entire oeuvre. However, you do have to be aware of things like the way your character dresses, and obviously the lack of 21st century Earth technology or electricity. Also, your character may not be even related to a canon character. For serious.
--> Students at the university begin their learning at AGE 16 at the youngest. They range up in years up until final, eighth year. Eighty-eight percent is required for a pass on final exams, so it is not unheard of to have to repeat a year. This is a guide of more or less all of the degrees offered at good ol' UU.
