Oh how beautiful the day was, though Jess didn’t find himself caring all that much about the weather. He had his pocket sized book in his inside breast pocket, and a pen to write in the margins. He had read the book about fifteen times already and he betted he could recite it by memory by now. Though he had never put down a book without reading it a million times and writing his thoughts in the margins. No one really appreciated his love for reading, so he made sure to keep that information to himself. No one would care anyway, so what was the point? He ran his hand through his hair as he stepped off his bike. It was expensive and there was no way in hell he was going to drive it through the woods, he could walk. Did he need the exercise? No. Did he want the exercise? No. Did he not want to ruin his bike? Yes. It was really the only thing he cared about or that he seemed to care about anyway.

The sky was blue, the sun was shining and the birds were being as annoying as hell chirping their asses off. The dark haired boy shot a glare up into the sky as if it was it’s fault for making the birds decide they wanted to sing. He loped quickly towards his destination, not being the most patient person on the planet and just wanting to do what he came here to do. His final destination was the lake, the lake that supposedly had been the final resting place of a little girl named Lauren who had drowned. Her body had never been found, the mystery of it all intrigued Jess and even though the legend freaked some people out, the dark haired angel wasn’t afraid.

A sigh sounded from his chest as he finally rounded a tree or two and found his favorite rock that he usually read upon. His right hand reached into the fold of his jacket, taking out the misshapen book and opening it to the page that he had left off on. It wasn’t hard to tell where he had stopped, the margin notes abruptly stopped somewhere three quarters of the way through. It was interesting how Jess had never found anyone to break his hard shell, but he still had something soft underneath, a good heart and soul. As long as the world didn’t care about him, he wouldn’t care about the world, or the people in it. He leaned and let gravity take over his body, the impact the rock made to his back sending a small dose of pain to his brain. Though it didn’t bother him, everyone needed a good dose of pain once in a while. He chuckled at his dark thoughts, wondering just how he had managed to get into heaven as he curled up on the rock. The hard stone was almost chair sized, so it was perfect for anyone to be sitting on. It was also enormous, which made it easier if he wanted to stretch out and be lazy, or sit up and be prim and proper. A twisted smile appeared on his face as he stretched himself out as if he owned the world, his hazel gaze flitting back and forth as he read, turning the book sideways once in a while to write a note where it was needed.

I'LL WEAR SHADES ON SUNLESS DAYS,
AND WHEN THE SUN'S OUT I'LL STAY IN AND SLUMBER. OH, ALL FOR THE SAKE
OF FOOLISH LOVE. CAUSE I DON'T WANT TO HOLD YOU AND FEEL SO HOPELESS

I WILL TAKE MY COFFEE BLACK. NEVER SNACK. HANG WITH THE WOLVES WHO
ARE SHEEPISH. FLOW THROUGH THE VEINS OF TOWN

Tamsin loved the weather. The way the sun sparkled against the clear water of the lake was breath taking to the young angel. It was silly how little people appreciated the beauty of the world, for it truly was amazing. People were always going on about how the world was such a cruel and dark place, but if they were just to open their eyes they would see just how beautiful it truly was. She had never appreciated it when she had been alive, and with that thought a sigh escaped the girls lips. It felt like she had been an angel forever, and she couldn't help but miss her home dearly, but, compared to many angels, she was extremely young. Two years she had been a guardian angel of all those who needed her help, and she still had many more years to go. She was only twenty one. She had met many others who did the same job as her, yet a lot of them were way over fifty (although none appeared older than twenty five), and there were even some that stretched to be far over a hundred. Tammy felt like she had been learning exactly what to do and completing these tasks for ages, but in comparison to them, it was nothing. They had all told her it would get easier though. 'Before you know it everyone you know from your human days will be dead, and then there's no commitments', but these words only filled the blonde with sadness. She didn't want to let go of the life she had once had and all the possibilities she had been offered with it.

The angel walked along a trodden path, the dust kicking up into her sandals, but she didn't care. Her wings were hidden (She'd managed to master, roughly, the power of glamouring. It was only one of the things she had been gifted with when she turned to being an angel), so, she looked much like an ordinary human being with golden hair sparkling in the sunlight. She found it strange how she could appear so normal when she was anything but that. She could never be normal. Tamsin craved normality, at her young age of being an angel, she was still grieving the life that had been taken from her in a simple car accident. She wanted to fall in love, have children and grow old. But dreams on sitting hand in hand with a husband on a porch, silver hair surrounding her while she watched over her grandchildren had been taken from her. Her work now came first. She had to focus on her love of helping others instead of other love now.

She headed to a small, usually secluded area where she knew a rock would stand, sheltered by the speckled shade of some trees. Tamsin usually sat there when she came to the lake, for it was there she could relax and observe the beautiful surroundings. It was an almost chair-sized bolder, and even though the rock wasn't that comfy, it provided a place for the angel to sit and think. She could think over the past few days, process what had happened in her now hectic life and try and focus on that instead of drifting into memories of the past. Sometimes it happened, but Tamsin tried to avoid the memories of her family that she had been forced to leave behind. They believed she was dead now, and as much as she wished she could visit them and tell them everything was perfectly fine, it was against the rules. It didn't mean she couldn't watch them though, and sometimes when she was up there, she watched them and made sure no harm came to them. It was something that often filled the girl with sadness, but she enjoyed doing it all the same. Lost in thought, Tamsin barely noticed when she reached her destination that someone else was already there. It was only when she was closer to the rock that the figure suddenly came to her attention. She jumped back, a little wary of the stranger, and attempted an apology for her intrusion. "Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't realize there was anyone else here." It was stupid, she should have been paying more attention. Tammy just hoped he would not be angry that she had intruded upon his solitude.

Jess looked up slightly and squinted as the blue sky stared down at him, the big yellow ball of fire beating down warmth on the world. The dark haired angel had to admit that earth was boring, there was nothing really to do. Of course he could fly around, but he couldn’t do so in front of humans or they would have a heart attack or something. They were so weak. Jess tended to block out the part of his human life that still lingered in his brain, that still popped into his minds eye when he was sleeping. The memories that caused him to wake up in a cold sweat, shivering and leaving him not wanting to go back to sleep. These weren’t pleasant memories, they were hauntings and were something that Jess always tried to shut out of his mind. They weren’t worth lingering over, the past was the past and however much it wanted to, Jess wouldn’t let it take over his life like they were trying so hard to do. Though when he was cast down from heaven he was told that he had to make everything right and if he did so earlier than when his term was up he could return back to where he belonged. A hand raised to press slightly on the bridge of his nose, wondering where the hell he actually belonged. When he went back to heaven he knew he would just get kicked out again, maybe he could just get reincarnated instead of just living this cycle over and over again. That was something Jess just couldn’t live with, getting kicked out numerous times and just living on earth as an angel. That just wouldn’t fly.

As the tall boy leaned against the rock, his wings provided cushion for him. He honestly didn’t care who saw them or not, there was always the ‘i’m in a halloween costume’ excuse if a human came by and started hyperventilating. It was awful how many humans would have a legit heart attack if Jess just walked up to them and started flying. They just wouldn’t believe it. He also thought it was amusing just how many would be jealous and want to be able to fly like him, asking him to make them what he was. Though it was a rule to keep his wings hidden or fire would come smite him, some punishment like that. Jess’s ears told him that someone was walking down the path to the lake, his body tensed up slightly, being ready to hide his wings if need be. Though as the being got closer his senses told him that the being was an angel, like him. Supernaturals all had their own sixth sense of being able to tell if another supernatural was in their presence. It was an interesting sixth sense that Jess thought was useful in tight situations and was annoying in others.

He stayed relaxed on the rock, his dark gaze flickering back and forth as he read. There was no use in going up to the other angel, it sounded as if the other being was on its way to the rock anyway. Jess knew that he wasn’t the only one that came to the rock to just relax. Sometimes when he was on his way to this tranquil spot he noticed someone else on it and just left, not wanting to have any company or have to put the effort to talk and be nice. Jess could be classified under the list as a loner, not wanting to ever talk to anyone just in case he found that he liked them. He couldn’t risk feeling anything for anyone, especially if they were human since they grew old and died much quicker than expected. Plus he couldn’t be someone’s friend for over a couple years since they would start noticing how he didn’t age and that would raise unwanted problems. Thank goodness the people that he once knew were no longer alive and were either in heaven or hell. He had been careful to avoid any contact with any of his friends or family during his time in heaven. Though he had gotten notices that they wanted to see him and just talk to him, but he couldn’t make himself face them even in his memories. How could he face them when they were right in front of him? The sound of the girls voice startled him slightly as he got lost in his thoughts, forgetting that she was approaching. A twisted smile appeared on his face as he sat up, placing the small book back in his breast pocket along with it’s blue inked pen. “Well hello there. No worries, I certainly don’t own this rock I couldn’t make you leave even if i wanted to.” He crossed his legs and smiled down at her, great now he had to strike up a conversation with the girl.
