First off, welcome to Board of Stories! I am your graphics administrator, Starr, and I will be your guide today.

Some may have seen the boards or groups and noticed a couple of strange member groups: the Wordsmiths, Groupies, and Critics. Well, these groups are not all that difficult to understand, and if you read on, I myself will explain them to you!

---

The "Wordsmiths"

"What exactly is a wordsmith?" you may ask.

Well, the title "wordsmith" can be broken down into two parts: "word" and "smith." As you may be able to tell, a "word" is, well, a "word," and a "smith" is one who puts things together, much like the burly blacksmiths in medieval times. So this is a person that puts words together, or (much more simply) an author! Our wordsmiths are the ones that make this board function. Members are allowed to read over the works and usually fall into one of the two other categories: Groupies or Critics. Let's take a look at the Groupie, now, shall we?

The "Groupies"

"Aren't groupies those people that flock where ever bands go and basically spazz over everything?" Why, yes, and no.

Yes because that is a correct definition, and no because that's not what groupies are on here. On BoS, a Groupie is a person who reads stories for pure enjoyment and may make things out of them, such as fanart and whatnot. Of course, anyone can be a groupie, but those who wish to have this title probably will not write their own works and, if they do, will more than likely still read more than they write. However, if this is not your style, there is one more group left: the Critic.

The "Critics"

"Critics are those people that tell what's good and what's bad, right?"

..... Actually, that's spot-on. The Critics on this board give constructive criticism to help Wordsmiths grow better as authors. These people may also read for enjoyment, but they have an eye for picking out things that need improvement and will kindly relay these things to the Wordsmiths. If there is a harsh critic that says derogatory things like "That chapter just sucked!" then he or she will probably be booted for not being courteous. This place is to help people grow, not tear them down!

So, now you know about these strange member groups and what they do! Thank you for reading, and I hope that you enjoy your time here on Board of Stories!
